Magic Era: The great Dungeon

Chapter 15: A strong boy and a strange girl

After Nim agreed to join the group, Mirra took out a map and showed it to Nim. When he saw the map, Nim realized that he was going in the wrong direction before meeting Mirra.

A map was certainly necessary.

Tracing the route on the map, they continued moving forward.

....

Several hours passed and they were already very close to the door to the next floor.

During the course of the trip, they encountered several monsters that Nim defeated with ease.

Mirra was also able to defeat some on her own. Nim realized that Mirra seemed to be stronger than adventurers of her same level.

Also, every so often, Mirra would take food and other things from some unknown place.

Apparently, Mirra had a strange item that allowed her to store her things in a separate space. Since Mirra did not want to talk about it, Nim did not ask.

He also asked her about the core that the slime had dropped after dying.

Mirra explained that sometimes some magic monsters could drop a core, the quality of the core depended on how strong the monster was before dying.

Even so, it was rare for monsters to leave a core.

Mirra not only explained this but many things, so much so that she almost did not stop talking the whole way.

Nim did not get bored since almost everything was information about the dungeon and some other unimportant things.

- There is the door, see I told you it was a good choice to bring me with you.

Mirra points to a door that was a few meters ahead, and that last phrase was one that she had been repeating constantly.

- Yes, it is true - Nim had already answered this several times, but the truth was that without Mirra he would continue to wander around this floor, and there was something he had to do right now.

- Come on - Mirra wants to go ahead.

- Wait - Mirra had only taken a few steps when she is grabbed by the arm by Nim.

-What's wrong? - Mirra is surprised by Nim's sudden action.

- I remembered something important that I want to tell you- Nim advances and stands in front of Mirra, turning his back to the door that was in front.

- What's the important thing? - Mirra did not understand Nim's sudden strange behavior.

In the hours that they had traveled with Nim, he had given her the image of being a somewhat silent person, only answering when she asked him something.

- The truth was that I wanted to tell you this about the first time I saw you- Nim said the latter in an unnatural way.

Mirra was somewhat surprised by these words since she had heard them before, more than once.

- I like you..

Before Nim finished the sentence, a shadow appeared behind Nim.

This shadow was carrying a dagger and was trying to stab Nim in the back.

This dagger was sharp enough to pierce through his back and reach his heart.

Nim, who seemed unprepared, suddenly turned around. The shadow, who had not expected this scene, opened his eyes in surprise and managed to see a cruel smile from his victim.

Without giving his attacker time to retreat, Nim gave a strong blow to the shadow's wrist.

Crack!

The shadow released the dagger as his bones were broken.

- aahh..

Feeling the intense pain, the shadow could not help but scream.

Mirra, who until now was still waiting for Nim's statement, was awakened by the loud scream.

-Wha- what's going on- Mirra, alarmed, instinctively steps back. Until a moment ago she was listening to Nim's strange statement.

When she catches up, she sees that Nim had turned around at some point and in front of him was a person in dark clothing.

In the dark areas of the floor it would be very difficult to notice her.

-A murderer - Mirra was aware of this dangerous class, and mostly only the murderers dressed like that.

Realizing this, Mirra sweats cold for having avoided this danger without realizing it.

-You..- the murderer wants to say a few words.

Nim, without letting him finish his sentence, quickly runs towards the murderer. The murderer, seeing Nim's fast speed, cannot react in time and is hit by a strong blow to the chest.

Thump!

The murderer is thrown out like a cannonball while his chest is caved in by Nim's enormous force.

Bang!

The murderer hits the wall hard while his body is shattered.

A creepy sound of broken bones resonates in this room.

Mirra is a little scared to see the brutal death of the murderer, besides it was the first time she saw a person kill another.

Her elders had told her that sooner or later she would have to go through this since many times people were more dangerous than monsters.

Mirra had not managed to fully understand that last phrase but she had mentally prepared herself for this occasion, but it still surprised her.

Mirra directs her gaze to the corpse that had already lost its humanoid form, it was only a tumult of flesh and blood.

Staring, she makes sure to record this image as a reminder of how dangerous the human could be.

After a few seconds Nim calls her while picking up her backpack that she had left in a corner at some point.

-Mirra, let's continue- Nim gestures to her.

Mirra turns her gaze to Nim, he does not seem affected by what just happened, it simply seemed that he killed one more monster.

Besides that sudden statement, it seemed like it had only been an act to attract the assassin.

Thinking about this last thing, Mirra got a little upset for having played with her feelings.

- Yes... I'm coming- Mirra answers without showing much on her surface.

Nim and Mirra continued moving forward and entered the portal room on the next floor.

This room was the same as the others they had seen, with a large space and a green portal in the middle.

- Let's take a break before continuing to the next floor- Nim sits down and begins to take out some food rations from her backpack.

- This is good- Mirra also takes out some food, after the last battle Mirra had stopped talking a lot and seemed to be thinking about something.

Nim notices this.

(maybe it scared her)

Nim thought that Mirra had been scared to see him kill the assassin, although for him it seemed normal to do this, not everyone was like him.

Just when Nim was thinking about asking her if she was okay, Mirra speaks.

-Nim, I want to tell you something

Mirra puts on a face of having made up her mind.

-What do you want to tell me?- Nim is surprised to see this scene.

-I want to tell you some things about me.- After seeing a murder for the first time, Mirra had strangely decided to trust Nim and tell him about herself.

-Some things about you..- Nim, who thought that Mirra was going to tell him that she no longer wanted to continue being a group with him, is surprised by this sentence.

-Yes, you have shown me that you are not only someone strong but that you are also someone I can trust.- Mirra, recovering her previous attitude, talks a lot again.

-Yes..- Nim had unconsciously gained Mirra's trust, whoever expected the opposite result to this cannot help but think of one thing.

(Mirra is a strange girl)
