Luffy Twin Brother: The Monkey King

Chapter 12: Chapter 12

"What I'm saying is simple," the fisherman continued. "Travel the Four Blues, hunt down smaller, weaker pirates, and then step onto the Red Line to enter Paradise. It should take you a year or two to figure out your standing before—wait, where are you going?!" He cut himself off as he noticed Kong walking away mid-sentence.

Kong didn't respond. He had stopped in front of four wanted posters, his eyes scanning each one carefully.

The first poster showed a massive, round woman with a wide, unsettling grin, Big Mom.

The second was an old man with a massive white mustache that curved like a crescent moon, Whitebeard.

The third was a hulking figure with thick horns protruding from his head, radiating sheer dominance, Kaido.

And lastly, the only one Kong recognized personally, Shanks.

"Who are these guys?" Kong asked, his eyes locked on Shanks' wanted poster.

"Those are the Four Emperors," the fisherman replied.

Kong raised an eyebrow. "So they must be weak."

The fisherman nearly choked on air. "What?!"

Kong stretched his arms lazily. "I mean, last time I saw Shanks, didn't he lose his hand to a Sea King? The same Sea King Luffy one-shotted?"

The fisherman stared at him like he had lost his mind. "You know Shanks?!"

"Yeah, he came to my village ten years ago. He's the whole reason I want to be a pirate," Kong said casually, still staring at the poster. "Didn't know he was strong… he also looks different."

Kong studied the image. Shanks wasn't smiling. His usual carefree aura was gone, replaced by a serious, almost cold expression. His eyes weren't even looking at the camera, as if he had something more important on his mind.

"This isn't the Shanks I knew," Kong muttered.

"Really?" The fisherman sounded amazed.

Kong glanced at the other Emperors. He wanted to believe they were weak—after all, Shanks lost his arm to a Sea King. But then, he thought about Garp.

Even now, Garp was stronger than him. And if Garp wasn't out there capturing these guys, that could only mean one thing, They must be just as strong… if not stronger than him.

"I'll skip the Four Seas," Kong said confidently. "When I was a kid, I already took down a pirate with a 14 million beli bounty."

He remembered that fight clearly—the pirate had been causing trouble in Gray Terminal, and despite Ace and Dadan struggling against him, Kong had taken him down easily. If he could do that as a kid, then wasting time in the Four Blues would be pointless.

Based on that, Kong decided to estimate his own strength. 'If a 14 million bounty was nothing back then, I should be at least 100 million now… just to be safe.'

That meant he was already in the realm of Paradise-level powerhouses. So instead of hunting weaklings, he'd head straight to the Grand Line—to test himself, make a name, and earn enough money for a proper ship.

But there was one problem. 'How the hell am I supposed to get there?'

"Okay, I'll go hunt down the bandits on this island," Kong said lightly, shifting his attention to the bar owner.

Yes, they were in a bar. The owner had put up wanted posters and bounty information, not just as a service, but also as a way to draw in customers.

The bar owner nodded. "These are some of the bounties you can find on this island. As for where the bandits are hiding, they're up in the mountains."

He laid out the wanted posters in front of Kong, but there was a catch, if Kong wanted to take them, he had to buy them.

Kong rolled his eyes and didn't bother. Instead, he simply memorized the faces of the eight bandits, all with bounties above 3 million. The highest among them sat at 8 million belly.

"Well, I should be back in no time," Kong said as he stepped out of the bar.

He didn't get far before he paused, then casually ripped off a piece of his finger. As soon as it separated, the detached piece solidified into stone. Without hesitation, he tossed it onto the roof of the bar.

' Now I won't get lost coming back. Next, he tore off another small piece, letting it harden before hurling it deep into the mountain forest. This way, he could track the way he is going.

Kong glanced at his hand, now missing a few fingers. A second passed. Slowly, the fingers reformed, reshaping as if they had never been severed.

Satisfied, he reached out with both hands, stretching his arms unnaturally far until they latched onto two buildings. The sudden movement sent a shock through the nearby crowd, many staring in wide-eyed horror.

"I'll be back!" Kong called out before launching himself forward. His body rocketed through the air at incredible speed. Mid-flight, he shifted his density, lightening his body so gravity had less pull on him.

He couldn't fly, but by controlling his density, he could extend his travel distance mid-air, making it feel almost weightless. As he approached the mountain, he abruptly increased his density—his weight multiplying until he became heavier than a ship.

Gravity slammed him downward. He plummeted like a meteor, the ground rushing up to meet him. But just before impact, He lightened himself again. Instead of crashing, Kong landed softly, touching down as if he had just stepped off a ledge.

"Help! I'm lost! Anyone there?!" Kong called out as he wandered aimlessly through the dense forest. His shouts quickly drew the attention of nearby wildlife. The rustling of bushes and the distant growls of animals followed him as he moved at high speed, scanning for any sign of a road.

It didn't take long. Spotting a dirt path, he immediately followed it, making sure to keep his eyes locked on the trail. But his nonstop cries for help eventually attracted more than just animals.

"Haha! Look at this dumbass!" A group of bandits emerged from the trees, grinning at what they assumed was easy prey. Kong paused, scanning them quickly… but none of them had bounties.

"What a shame," Kong muttered.

Before the bandits could react, his body melted into a liquid mass, surging toward them like living tar.

"W-what the hell?!" one of them screamed, but it was too late. The liquid engulfed them, forcing them to the ground in sheer horror. They had never seen a Devil Fruit user before, and the sight alone left them stunned and confused.

"So, where's your boss?" Kong asked with a smirk. The terrified bandits didn't waste time talking. A few minutes later, Kong returned to the village loaded.

He had collected a total of 81 million beli in bounties, plus 40 million from the bandits' hidden stash.

Using a trick he had developed over the years, he stored the extra money inside his own body. His Devil Fruit allowed for limited internal storage, though he still felt the weight of whatever he carried. That meant it was useless for truly heavy objects,

As he handed over the captured bandits, a Marine looked him over, eyes narrowing.

"I haven't heard of a bounty hunter like you before…" the officer muttered while scanning the unconscious criminals.

"Yeah, I just started today," Kong said with a grin. "Are the Marines able to get me a ride to Paradise? I'm willing to pay."

The Marine raised an eyebrow. "What do you want to do in Paradise… and what did you say your name was?"

As he spoke, other Marines moved in, dragging the unconscious bandits away.

"Monkey D. Kong," Kong replied casually. Then, lowering his voice, he added, "By the way… this isn't going to reach Garp's ears, right?"

The Marine blinked. Then, as realization hit, his eyes went wide. He opened his mouth to speak, But before he could, Kong covered it with his hand, putting a finger to his lips.

"Shhh."

"I don't want that stupid old man running after me," Kong muttered, finally letting go of the Marine. "I don't want to be a Marine. Right now, I just want to hunt down pirates and make some cash."

The surrounding Marines had already gone on guard, hands resting on their weapons, but the captain, still processing everything, silently lifted a hand, signaling them to stand down.

After a moment of thought, he gave a reluctant nod. "Get this man his money, and have a ship prepared to head for Paradise."

Kong's face lit up. Without warning, he pulled the Marine captain into a tight hug. The captain stiffened, awkward and uncomfortable, but didn't push him away. Internally, though, his mind was already racing.

'I need to contact Marine HQ… Garp needs to hear about this immediately.'
