Chapter 49: Bandits
The fifteen men surrounded the four caravans with swords in their hands as they fought against a group of people in ragged clothes and torn armor.
The group that was attacking the caravans was over thirty; it was impressive that these fifteen men were able to hold their group and keep them away from the caravans.
Screams of women and children could be heard from the caravans as the fight played on; some bodies were already lying on the ground with sword wounds on their bodies, and blood covered the place.
These corpses belonged to the group of 30-plus attackers as they were dressed in similar patterns and carrying brutal weapons; the remaining thirty-something people didn't care about the deaths of their companions and continued to rush at the fifteen men aggressively and attack them madly with vicious smiles on their faces.
"Bandits," Feifei said as her expression turned cold.
Leon looked at her and was stunned, surprised at how the cute Senior sister suddenly looked like Quin Xuxu when she was serious.
"But they are ordinary people; we can easily deal with them," Muging voiced out from the side.
They could see that the fifteen men were already starting to get tired after fighting to protect the caravans for so long, their bodies were drenched in sweat and blood as they began to accumulate injuries after facing so many opponents at the same time. They would, at most, be able to keep up for a few more minutes before running out of strength.
Rongyu shook her head before pointing into the distance. Everyone looked in the direction that they were pointing at, and their eyes narrowed.
Not far away from the caravan stood a group of eight people in black cloaks, they were martial artists!
"Three level 4 and 5 level 3, we're outnumbered and outmatched," Wanxu said with a grave tone.
There were only seven on their side and the other side had eight people with higher levels as well. If they were to attack, it would not end well for them.
" What should we do then?" Leon asked.
Everyone was silent for a while before Rongyu let out a sigh.
" Retreat, it doesn't concern us anyway"
She turned around and was about to leave; the others turned around as well with crestfallen expressions; they felt horrible that they had to abandon these people, but it wasn't worth risking their lives for people they didn't know.
Leon was shocked by their decision to ignore the bandits attacking the caravans; he realized that the world of cultivation and martial arts were really the same thing; both were ruthless!
Just when they were about to leave, one of the bandits holding a large saber broke through the line of defense of the fifteen men and rushed toward the caravan in the middle. He carelessly stuck his hand into the caravan and pulled out a little girl who was about ten years old before slashing at her.
The little girl let out a loud cry as her arm was chopped off and blood flew everywhere, her eyes trembling in horror as she cried for her mother to save her.
A woman ran out from the caravan and dashed toward the little girl recklessly without regard for her life but was stopped by other women who told her that it was too dangerous but she wouldn't listen as she struggled to reach her daughter.
The bandit laughed at this and licked the blood on his saber before lifting it above the girl's head.
Pfff!
Just before he could cut off the girl's head, a man in bloody plate armor appeared behind him and stabbed through his neck with a sword.
Blood gushed out from the bandit's neck and covered the girl's face who let out another scream as she was released to the ground.
"Quick, go back to the caravan!" The armored man shouted at the girl as he quickly turned to block a bandit who had suddenly appeared behind him.
Their swords clashed and the armored man was knocked to the ground by the force.
Many bandits quickly surrounded him and began to hack at him with their weapons, his armor was getting new cuts as he tried to protect his vitals.
Leon watched this scene with trembling eyes, he could not help but feel sympathy for the man.
Swoosh!!
Suddenly, he felt a gust of wind blow past him, causing his hair and robe to flutter widely.
Leon's eyes widened, he looked at what it was and saw Feifei landing on the ground not far from where the bandits were attacking the caravans before dashing toward them.
She was like a blur as she left after images with her movement technique and quickly reached where the bandits were attacking the armored man on the ground.
Swish! Swish! Swish!
A cold blade light flashed through the air as Feifei waved her spear at a terrifying speed; five heads immediately flew into the air, and blood gushed out like fountains from their necks.
Thud!
The headless bodies dropped to the ground a second later, giving the armored man a chance to catch his breath. He was bloodied, and his armor was a mess; multiple cuts were on his body, and his clothes underneath were completely soaked; luckily, he was still alive.
The entire place suddenly turned silent as everyone stopped moving and stared at Feifei with wide eyes. They were shocked to see a young girl in a light blue robe suddenly appearing and killing five people in a flash.
A martial artist!
The armored man stood up with slight difficulty and looked at Feifei before lowering his head.
"Thank you, senior, for saving me," He said with a respectful tone.
Feifei ignored him and kept staring at the cloaked figures in the distance.
"It's a martial artist, everyone retreats!" A bandit shouted, and the thirty-plus people quickly retreated. They were, after all, ordinary humans and did not even possess any combat training; they would die like chickens if they faced such a powerful martial artist even if their numbers doubled.
The bandits quickly retreated and gave the people protecting the caravans a moment of rest; the woman who was being held down finally broke free and rushed toward her daughter. She hugged her daughter, who now only had one hand, and they cried together.
The other fourteen men who were also protecting the caravans came to thank Feifei for assisting them, but she didn't reply as she kept staring into the distance; the bandits had retreated behind the eight cloaked figures and were staring at her fearfully.
Swoosh!
Leon and the others appeared behind Feifei at this moment. The people of the caravans bowed toward them as well to pay their respect.
"You were rash" Rongyu mumbled to Feifei while staring ahead as well.
"I'm sorry, I could not stop myself," Feifei said apologetically without looking at her.
"Now we fight?" Wanxu asked.
" We didn't have a choice," Linxu answered with an annoyed expression on her face; she blamed Feifei for sticking her nose in other people's business.
"The deed is already done. Feifei and I will face the three level 4 on their side; the rest of you will have to deal with the others and come help us," Rongyu said with a serious voice.
"We can help you too," One of the armored men said and stepped forward; his voice was strong, and he gave the feeling of a seasoned warrior.
Even though they had just survived a brutal clash, their ability to hold out and even kill some people was proof that they were well-trained fighters. Besides, Feifei had interfered to save them so they felt obliged to help.
Rongyu turned and shot him a glare.
"This isn't a fight that an ordinary person should interfere in, go back and protect yourselves"
