Lost in the labyrinth of love

Chapter 7: Chapter 6: Lingering Hop

The journey to the hospital seemed endless, and no one in the car was in the mood for conversation. Minh Hoang sat quietly, his gaze fixed forward, his eyes distant as if lost in thought. He didn't know what he should do, only that he felt a strange, unsettling feeling as he saw the worry etched on Duat Van's face. He felt like an outsider, unable to do anything but sit here in silence.

Ngoc Han sat beside him, her face etched with concern, but she tried to remain composed. She glanced at Minh Hoang from time to time, noticing his quietness, something unusual and contemplative about him. Ngoc Han sighed softly, then turned to Duat Van, her eyes filled with care.

Duat Van remained silent, his gaze fixed on the passing scenery outside the window, his hands gripping the steering wheel tightly, trembling slightly with worry. Duat Lien and Duat Hai could easily sense the tension in him, but they didn't say anything, for they understood that Duat Van was someone who never readily revealed his emotions.

Only the sound of the engine echoed in the quiet space. Minh Hoang felt as if time was stretching on endlessly, but finally, the car came to a stop in front of the hospital gates. Duat Van wasted no time in getting out. He quickly took the lead, with Ngoc Han and Minh Hoang following behind.

The hospital was dimly lit, with only faint lights illuminating the path. The atmosphere was cold and quiet, an eerie feeling pervading the space. Minh Hoang couldn't help but feel a little scared. He looked around, his eyes involuntarily landing on the signposts, but he couldn't find any answers to the emotions in his heart.

Duat Van walked quickly towards the emergency room, his eyes never leaving the entrance. Minh Hoang followed behind, feeling as if everything had become blurred. He felt like he was a part of this picture, yet he couldn't fully comprehend it all. Everything was changing too quickly.

Ngoc Han walked beside him, gently taking his hand. "Darling, don't worry too much. Duat Van is a strong person; he'll be fine."

Minh Hoang turned to her, his eyes reflecting a hint of confusion. "I... I don't know what to do."

Ngoc Han smiled, the warmth in her smile seeming to soothe some of the anxiety in Minh Hoang's heart. "Just stay by Duat Van's side, support him. Don't forget that you're not alone."

Ngoc Han's gentle words made Minh Hoang feel somewhat comforted. He knew she was right. Although he couldn't change the situation, he could at least be here, sharing the burden with his friends.

Just then, Thanh Khai also stepped forward, his eyes cold but not without concern. He walked straight to Duat Van, gently patting him on the shoulder. "Are you okay?"

Duat Van turned to look at Thanh Khai, his eyes softening slightly. "Thank you for coming. Thank you all."

Minh Hoang stood quietly, watching Thanh Khai's every move. He felt something warm, yet also strangely unfamiliar. Thanh Khai seemed very worried about Duat Van, but he didn't say much. He simply stood there, quietly by his side, offering his support through his actions.

The emergency room door opened, and a doctor came out with a serious expression. "The old master has regained consciousness. But his condition still needs to be monitored. Thank you for getting him here in time."

Duat Van let out a relieved sigh, took Minh Hoang's hand tightly, then turned to Ngoc Han. "Let's go see him."

Minh Hoang felt a chill run down his spine as he entered the ward. In the quiet room, an elderly man lay on the hospital bed, his face pale but still with a hint of life. Minh Hoang felt the stillness in this space, but he couldn't deny that there were still glimmers of hope here.

"How is he?" Ngoc Han asked, her eyes showing her worry.

"Still weak, but he'll be okay," Duat Van replied, his voice low, unable to hide the concern within him.

Minh Hoang stood by the door, his eyes never leaving the man on the bed. He realized that, at this moment, everything could change in an instant. His feelings for Thanh Khai, the words he hadn't had time to say, seemed to mirror this change. Just one storm could alter everything.

But no matter what, Minh Hoang knew one thing: he wouldn't let go.
