Chapter 19: Chapter 18: The Truth Comes to Light (1)
That night, the dim streetlights filtered through Minh Hoang's window, illuminating the dark corners of his room. He sat motionless, his eyes fixed on the black card Hac Kim had sent, his heart surging with an indescribable unease. Unable to sleep all night, Minh Hoang decided to meet Thanh Khai. But as soon as he left his room, his phone rang.
"Minh Hoang, could you meet me for a moment? I have something to tell you." Duat Van's voice came over the phone, urgent and full of worry.
Without saying anything more, Minh Hoang hurriedly agreed and arranged to meet Duat Van at a cafe near the school. When he arrived, Duat Van was already waiting. His face no longer had its usual composure, but instead a frightening seriousness.
"What do you want to see me about?" Minh Hoang asked, sensing that something was wrong.
Duat Van looked around and then lowered his voice, pulling his chair closer. "There's a secret you need to know. And it's related to Hac Kim."
Minh Hoang frowned. "What is it?"
"Le Hao Thien... is actually Le Vu Hao Nhien's half-brother."
Duat Van's words were like a bolt of lightning striking Minh Hoang's head. He couldn't believe what he had just heard. "What? How is that possible? Hao Thien is..."
"He is Hao Nhien's half-brother, but no one knows this. Hao Thien is the heir to a large part of the power in Hac Kim. He is a pawn that we cannot ignore."
Minh Hoang stood stunned, as if struck down. He recalled his encounters with Hao Thien, always cold, taciturn, but never showed any real interest in power or underground organizations. Yet now, everything had completely changed.
"But why did he hide this?" Minh Hoang couldn't understand.
Duat Van sighed. "Hao Thien doesn't want people to know about this relationship, because he wants to build his own path. He doesn't want to become the shadow of his brother - Hao Nhien, who already holds power in Hac Kim."
Minh Hoang's mind was spinning. He didn't expect that the friend he knew would have such a big secret. Hao Thien is not only a person in the upper class but also has a close connection with Hac Kim. This opens up a series of unanswered questions.
"Does he know that Hac Kim is watching me?" Minh Hoang asked, his voice full of worry.
"No, Hao Thien doesn't know. But I'm worried that, with the appearance of Hac Kim and the information you already know, he will be dragged into this game, whether he wants to or not." Duat Van looked at Minh Hoang with serious eyes. "Now, not only you but also those around you can be caught up in this war. Hac Kim will not give up on anyone."
When Minh Hoang returned to school, he met Hao Thien in the hallway. Although Hao Thien still looked the same as usual - cold and unapproachable, but now Minh Hoang could not help but look at him with different eyes.
"Hao Thien, I have something to ask." Minh Hoang stood opposite him, his heart full of suspicion.
Hao Thien did not turn back immediately, but only looked forward, his voice still as cold as ice. "You can ask me anything."
Minh Hoang looked deep into Hao Thien's eyes, where there was an indescribable determination. "Le Vu Hao Nhien is your half-brother, isn't he?"
Hao Thien's eyes flashed with surprise, but only for a moment. He turned around, sneering. "Where did you hear that from?"
"Duat Van just told me. I don't think it's just hearsay." Minh Hoang replied, his eyes full of determination.
A long silence passed between the two. Finally, Hao Thien sighed, unable to maintain his cold expression any longer. "So you already know. I am Hao Nhien's half-brother. But I don't want anyone to know this, including you."
Minh Hoang looked at him, his eyes full of worry. "Why hide it? Which side are you on in this war?"
Hao Thien looked at Minh Hoang, his eyes with an unpredictable gloom. "You don't understand. Hac Kim is not an organization that you can easily join. I have chosen my own path to not be used. And so should you. If you don't want to be dragged into this war, it's best to stay away from me."
Minh Hoang was speechless. He couldn't believe that a close friend could hide such a big secret.
Hao Thien left without saying anything more, leaving Minh Hoang with countless unanswered questions. He wondered if he was strong enough to fight against Hac Kim, or would everyone be caught up in a war that no one could stop?
Anyway, he knew one thing for sure: Hac Kim had really appeared, and it would not be easy to withdraw. The war had begun, and Minh Hoang had no choice but to face it.
He had to choose a side to stand on, and whether he could protect the people he loved?
The answer will only come when the war really breaks out.
