Lord of the Time: I Can Reincarnate Infinitely

Chapter 366: 366: I hate trouble

In the pivotal moment, just as the knife was poised to lacerate Rihanna's neck, Caleb materialized out of thin air with an almost supernatural grace. His presence disrupted the impending danger, and he deftly stopped the tip of the knife with the mere touch of his fingertips, a testament to his enhanced abilities.

Rihanna, wide-eyed and trembling, stared at Caleb with a mix of astonishment and relief. The room fell into a tense silence, broken only by the echo of the halted threat against her life.

The other maid, Juls, recoiled, her eyes narrowing with a mix of surprise and frustration. "How did you—?" she began, her voice caught between shock and resentment.

Caleb, maintaining an air of calm authority, interrupted her query. "Every corner of this mansion is within my vision," he explained, his tone steady and unwavering. "Nothing escapes my perception."

Juls, visibly unsettled by Caleb's revelation, lowered the knife hesitantly. The weight of her actions and the revelation of Caleb's extraordinary abilities hung in the air, creating an atmosphere fraught with tension.

Juls took a deep breath. 'Just as they've said! This man. The young master of the De Vera family is a hidden dragon!'

As the gravity of the situation settled, Rihanna, finding her voice, asked with a quiver, "How did you know what was happening, young master Adam? How did you appear here in the nick of time?"

Caleb, still holding the knife at bay, responded with a calm assurance, "My perception extends beyond the ordinary. I saw the truth unraveling, and I couldn't stand by as harm befell you."

The room remained hushed, the maids processing the revelation of Caleb's extraordinary capabilities. The once-murky shadows of deceit within the mansion now stood exposed, laid bare by Caleb's watchful gaze.

"Perception? How is it possible to have a perception that can cover an entire mansion!?" Juls asked, her tone higher than usual.

Rihanna looked at Adam in disbelief. 'A monster! He was a monster in a young teenager's skin!

If Caleb knew what Rihanna was thinking. He would have vomited blood by now. After all, Rihanna hit the spot! He was indeed an old monster on young Adam's body!

'Hahaha! They're so suprise? It's really satisfying to see their faces like this.'

In the charged aftermath of Caleb's intervention, a palpable tension enveloped the room. Caleb, his gaze unwavering, directed his questions to the two maids caught in the web of deception.

"Why did you coerce Rihanna to kill Rose, Juls?" Caleb's voice held a mix of sternness and curiosity. Rihanna, still shaken, stood on one side, awaiting Juls' response.

Juls, her composure crumbling under the weight of Caleb's inquiry, answered with a blend of honesty and hysteria. "I needed Rose out of the way," she admitted, her words carrying a bitter undertone. "She was in the path of my ambitions, and I couldn't let her ruin everything."

Caleb raised an eyebrow, probing further, "Ambitions? What ambitions would drive you to coerce someone into committing such a heinous act?"

Juls, her eyes filled with peculiar desperation, elaborated, "I want to marry into wealth and influence. Rose was a threat to that future. She knew too much about my past, about things I needed to bury. I couldn't let her jeopardize everything I've worked for."

Caleb's gaze shifted to Rihanna, his tone softening as he addressed her, "Rihanna, why did you succumb to her coercion? What was the real reason? I mean, you can certainly refuse, right?"

Rihanna, now composed but still visibly distressed, spoke with a hint of remorse. "I was desperate," she admitted, her voice carrying the weight of her decisions. "Juls had some information that could ruin my life. I felt cornered, and I thought doing what she asked would free me from her threats. Thomas is the only way for me to escape the chains of poverty."

Caleb sighed, the complexity of the situation weighing on him. The intertwining motives and vulnerabilities of the two maids revealed a deeper layer to the mystery within the De Vera mansion.

'The undercurrent is deeper than what I've expected. This Thomas is her key to rise from rich to poor. Well, it seems everything is clear now. The catalyst of everything is Thomas and the mastermind is Juls.'

Juls, defiant and unrepentant, added, "I don't fear going to prison. I'll do whatever it takes to secure my future, even if it means sacrificing someone else's."

Amidst the revelation of Juls' sinister motives, a chilling stillness settled in the room. Caleb, his was that of indifference, addressed Juls calmly. "You underestimated how ruthless people can become," he declared.

In a swift motion, Caleb raised his hand, and the room plunged into a surreal moment. Rose's head, separated from her body, floated eerily in the air. Caleb, his own hand dripping with blood.

Rihanna, visibly dumbfounded by the abrupt turn of events, found her voice, "Why, young master? Juls would be imprisoned anyway. Why did you kill her?"

'Why call me with that shitty title!?' Caleb clicked his tongue. He was tired of being addressed as a young master. It was a humiliation for a traverse like him.

Caleb sighed, "Juls underestimated the power of her information. She believed imprisonment was her worst fate, but I couldn't let her secrets haunt us from behind bars. There are three scenarios I considered."

Caleb began to outline the convincing scenarios, his words measured and deliberate. "Firstly, she could use her influence even from prison to orchestrate harm or manipulate situations. Her connections might still pose a threat."

"Secondly, the truth about her coercion and the deeper motives might not surface in court. She could escape the severity of her actions, perpetuating a cycle of deceit."

"And finally, her twisted determination to secure her future at any cost could lead her to strike back, even from within the confines of a prison cell. The threat wouldn't be eradicated; it would merely be contained. I just pulled out the roots before could bear fruits of trouble after trouble to us..."

"As you know. I hate trouble. That's reason is enough for me to kill." Caleb answered almost chillingly calm.

As Caleb ended his words, Rihanna felt that the young master in front of her wasn't the one she knew all these years that he served the mansion.
