Chapter 353: 353: Not Part of the Plan
Caleb Voli and the family waited for an hour before a police officer brought knocked on the door and brought a fugitive in "orange clothes" to the door. The police officer directly pushed the criminal inside the house and saluted Jeff and Adam's father.
"Sir, this is the person that you have requested. Since I've already finished my task here, excuse me."
The soldier was about to leave when Caleb shouted, "Wait," this stopped the soldier and looked back.
The soldier glanced at Caleb and had an expression of, "What?"

"Forgive me, sir, but I still have work to do, so make it quick."
At this time, the tone of the police officer was not that gentle anymore, and one could say that the soldier was annoyed but he didn't bother to hide it.
After all, he had already gone back and forth in the mansion to transport people. Yes, he was the one who transported the last criminal to the mansion. He is not the personal helper of the De Vera Mansion or something, right?
He was a dignified police. Why should he always bring people that they needed? It's not as if they are paying him.
Caleb did not expect that the police officer would show such an attitude.
"Well, never mind. I just want to ask what did this person do? Why?"
Why would he bother asking what the fugitive did? Well, since from the start, the criminal was silent. He didn't even give any one of them a look. This made Caleb quite curious about the evil deeds of the criminal.
Caleb looked at the fugitive who had a deadpan expression carefully. He has a burnt mark on his left arm, and he wore a long dark-sleeved mantle. He has an "orange shirt" the usual attire criminals wear. The fugitive stared at Caleb for three seconds before he looked down to the ground.
This made Caleb confused. 'The hell is he looking at me? And why is he unusually silent?'
After all, the last criminal that the police officer brought, the one who did a lot of heinous things, had a bad attitude and quite arrogant. He was a hundred times worse than the one in front of him, which made Caleb uncomfortable. In comparison, the person in front of him was like a sheep.
He could not bring himself to do punishment or undesirable things to people who did not do horrible things. He still has a bottom line and morals, although it did not look like it.
'Hmm, what should I do if this person is not that evil? Should I continue what I'm about to do? Well, I don't think that the police officer would bring the wrong person, right? The requirements I gave to my father should have been followed...'
The requirements he gave to his father were the criminals that they are only allowed to bring are only those criminals that did a lot of heinous or horrible things. In that way, he would not feel guilty. Of course, what he was about to do would not harm the person much. However, it would surely disable the other party.
Apologies for the oversight. Let's revise the scene:
Caleb stood before the restrained criminal, a conflicted expression on his face as he debated the morality of his actions. The room was tense with anticipation, and the fugitive's gaze remained fixed on the ground, seemingly unfazed by the impending judgment.
"Tell me, what heinous act did you commit to warrant such drastic consequences?" Caleb inquired, his voice laced with a mixture of curiosity and concern.
The criminal remained silent, his stoic demeanor unwavering. Caleb, growing impatient, decided to take matters into his own hands. "Fine, if you won't speak voluntarily, I'll make sure you do."
With a determined gaze, Caleb extended his hand towards Voli, the formidable bear-like creature at his side. "Voli, my friend, it's time for a change."
As Caleb uttered those words, an unseen force enveloped the room, and a surge of golden light passed from the criminal to Voli. The transfer was instantaneous, leaving the fugitive bewildered, and Voli now stood with an inexplicable sense of awareness in his eyes.
Caleb, satisfied with his use of power, turned to the speechless criminal. "You may have lost your voice, but my companion here is more than capable of using it wisely."
The criminal, now robbed of his ability to speak, could only gape in disbelief. Panic flashed across his face as he tried to utter words, but nothing escaped his lips. Caleb, seemingly unburdened by guilt, observed the unfolding scene with a stern expression.
"Voli, what do you have to say?" Caleb prompted, addressing Voli.
Voli, previously incapable of speech, now possessed the vocal prowess of the criminal. "Master, you've shown strength in asserting justice. The power you wield is for a greater purpose. Fear not the consequences, for justice prevails."
"You sound edgy," With a grin, Caleb said. Finally! His pet can finally speak!
Delvin and Klein exchanged wide-eyed glances, their expressions mirroring a mix of astonishment and curiosity. Klein, the older brother, raised an intrigued eyebrow, while Delvin, the younger sibling, leaned forward in disbelief.
"You see, guys, I possess this incredible power to fuse things together. I just demonstrated it by transferring the vocal cords of that criminal to Voli." Caleb explained.
Delvin leaned forward. "Wait, you can really do that!? That smells like a business!"
Caleb couldn't help but feel amazing. "Damn... Everything is business to you..."
"It's a unique ability I have. I fused the vocal cords to Voli. Because scientifically they're what allow humans to speak.
Klein raised an intrigued eyebrow "And you chose Voli for this?"
"Precisely. Voli now has the ability to speak. It adds a whole new dimension to his existence and it's what he wished for."
Voli, now endowed with the ability to speak, directed his newfound talent toward the criminal with a sly grin. "Well, well, aren't you a special kind of idiot? Couldn't even muster up the courage to defend your sorry existence, huh?"
