Chapter 108: Trade
Not caring about their eyes, Lorien raised his head slowly and said as a small grin slowly surfaced on his face.
"How about we make a deal!"
Seeing this, the other people present instantly became vigilant, it really felt as if he was up to no good.
'What is he planning...'
Observing their reaction, Lorien instantly guessed what they were thinking which caused him to feel a bit speechless.
'Why are they looking at me like this, I really mean no harm...'
'Quite the opposite it's a win-win kind of deal...'
'And as the parrot said, Have faith in lord fifth, gain eternal life! when lord fifth appears, who dares to cause strife!'
'With me as their boss, not only will they gain power but no danger shall appear!'
Finishing this small rant in his heart, Lorien smiled bitterly, feeling quite helpless.
But even then, he still explained trying to convince them with logic preferring not to resort to other tactics.
"Cursed Spirits are growing quickly in strength and numbers, and it appears that you guys won't be able to handle the incoming storm."
"Soon, this place will turn into a dumpster fire!"
Seeing that they were still paying attention, Lorien nodded silently as he continued talking.
"Your main issue isn't actually the lack of talents, rather, it seems that you lack the inheritance and techniques to help those talents reach their full potential."
"Previous wars and accidents in the region caused your heritage to break so you are now almost starting from zero and most of your strong techniques are self-made by different geniuses."
As he said this, Lorien's eyes couldn't help but drift toward Sarrah the woman he was previously following, after all, she is one such example.
Actually, the situation Lorien has just spoken of isn't as rare as one may think.
Many countries are currently facing this same issue with only a few such as Japan, China, and some other old European nations still possessing a relatively complete heritage.
'This is not time for this...'
Suppressing those messy thoughts, Lorien continued speaking.
"You could probably use Heavenly Restrictions to try and creatively push your way through those hard times, but that is far from a long-term solution and you'll be overwhelmed sooner or later."
Hearing this, the golden-haired man who appears to be the most irritable gut in their group finally couldn't help but retort in a muffled voice.
"What are you trying to get at?"
'Huh?'
Getting interrupted so abruptly, Lorien stopped speaking as a frown appeared on his face before turning his head toward the guy who had just spoken.
'So it's him again...'
Meanwhile, seeing Lorien turn his eyes toward him, the man instantly reacted quickly sitting back as if nothing had happened, he still remembers their fight a while ago.
Seeing this, Lorien couldn't help but roll his eyes, deciding not to care about him for now as he then continued speaking as if nothing had happened.
"I can provide you with the heritage you lack! and also minimum protection when I am there in case you meet an unsolvable opponent."
"And what is it for you?" Questioned the red-haired woman vigilantly.
She didn't doubt his ability to deliver on his promise, nor was there a reason to, after all, all they need to do is wait to verify if he spoke the truth.
"I currently lack subordinates, and your organization just happens to fit the bill."
The moment Lorien said this, the first to react were the golden-haired man and another black-haired one who was sitting next to him.
"WHAT??!"
"IMPOSSIBLE!!"
"WE DISAGREE!!"
Hearing this, Lorien frowned again, this is the second time he got interrupted, so even though he has a relatively gentle personality, he still got a bit annoyed.
Turing his eyes toward them, this immediately caused them to shrink back and turn quiet as an ugly look appeared on the two men's faces.
This is because the moment he looked at them, the two men felt restricted, they suddenly lost the ability to manipulate their cursed energy as their bodies froze.
This is an obvious and clear warning.
Of course, not all the people present here were as reckless as those two, especially knowing the strength difference between them, not to mention that this may really be an opportunity.
"If we were to become your subordinates, what kind of orders will you give us?" Said the leader who had been keeping silent most of the time.
He knew that there was hardly any way they could refuse this offer.
He didn't know anything about Lorien, so he didn't know how his reaction will be if they were to refuse him.
Will he let them go? or will he kill everyone here? He really couldn't use the lives of everyone to make such a bet, especially with the world's current chaotic situation.
After all, on the off chance that every powerhouse here were to be killed, cursed spirits will gain the absolute advantage and will become free to do anything they want.
That'll be the end of humanity...at least for this country.
But even if he knew that he most likely couldn't refuse, the man still had to ask, after all, if the orders they were going to take is to kill humans, then there is no reason to hesitate any longer.
Everyone here will choose to fight to the death.
Seeing the serious and crazy look in the man's eyes, Lorien immediately guessed what he was thinking, so he quickly said.
"Do I look evil to you? I am also a human! I wouldn't give such an order!"
"If I wanted to kill humans I would have done it myself long ago! Why choose such a roundabout way?"
Hearing this, the black-haired Leader visibly relaxed, but even then, he still didn't give a response as he kept hesitantly opening his mouth and closing not knowing what to say.
This lasted for a while until he finally spoke in a low tone of voice.
"Could you give us some time to think? The five of us can't make such a decision on our own, some of our executive members are still missing."
Hearing this, Lorien fell silent for a moment before responding.
"...24 Hours."
Lorien wasn't afraid of them doing anything or preparing any traps in this period of time.
After all, even on the off chance that they had some crazy backup, the golden barrier surrounding him was still present which could fully assure his protection as long as it exists.
Hearing Lorien's answer, the man felt a bit surprised as he didn't expect him to agree so refreshingly.
But he knew that it wasn't time for this so he quickly suppressed his surprise and responded.
"Thank you!"
Even though 24 hours weren't a lot of time, It could still allow them to talk and plan their next course of action, be it agreeing or disagreeing and planning for the worst.
Nodding lightly in response, Lorien then stood up and gave them a deep look as he said.
"I'll be back tomorrow..."
As Lorien spoke, his voice echoed lightly in the conference room sounding like a whisper, and before anyone could react, they suddenly discovered that he had disappeared from his position, leaving behind and lightly spinning empty seat.
