Chapter 32 - Chapter 32: Power Leveling (3)
Chapter 32: Power Leveling (3)
On the next Saturday, I went to the beginner’s dungeon with Senior Camille. Jorio, the spear art instructor, was as usual, and we felt we needed to do something about it since the high school students had to take responsibility. His father, a commoner, was a spear art instructor in the military. Every time the teacher complained and boycotted the class, he inevitably became the class leader and took charge of self-study as a substitute. He should just be the spear art teacher for the class.
For his self-practice in spear art, I asked him to come to the dungeon. But the real reason was power leveling to prevent him from getting injured in next month’s field training. I knew in the first loop that a third-year student would get seriously injured in November, but I didn’t realize it was Senior Camille. Because of that, I couldn’t prevent his injury, and I secretly regretted it. So, in the second loop, I brought him to the dungeon, and he accomplished the feat of defeating the Murder Bear on his own. I don’t know how many loops I will go through, but during October, I will strengthen Senior Camille to an appropriate level. This is essential.
First, the two of us went to the adventurer’s guild. I thought of skipping it this time, but the popular beginner’s dungeon is easy for leveling, and you have to present your adventurer’s card at the entrance.
“It’s exciting, isn’t it, Alexi-kun?”
Senior Camille, the refreshing good-natured guy. If he hadn’t chosen the unpopular spear art, he would probably be popular now. Indeed, after defeating the Murder Bear in November, he was so popular that love letters overflowed in his locker. A cliché development.
He wore casual clothes with his own spear, and I borrowed a training short spear from the academy. However, my real hunting weapon is not this.
“Senior, today I’d like to go a bit further.”
After defeating the pillbugs on the first floor and feeling in good condition, I urged him forward. Senior Camille was a bit puzzled, but reluctantly agreed, saying, “If it seems dangerous, we’ll turn back.”
On the second floor, choosing the spawning point and monsters carefully should be manageable. Woodlice, crickets, cockroaches. Since the spear has a long reach, you can easily defeat them with careful maneuvering, but the woodlice that don’t fly are the easiest to defeat. It seemed that we could manage on the second floor, so he agreed to infiltrate the third floor. But my real target is still the fourth floor.
Today, I made a new magical tool. Unlike the kamaboko board, it won’t do for showing it off to others. I bought thin wood and created a magical tool resembling a baton for conducting.
Magical Tool: Stone Bullet Lv4 – Stone Blast “Small Area,” “Stone,” “Flight,” “Strike”
→ Shoots multiple pebbles at the entire enemy. Number generated is INT/1, and attack power is INT/10. MP40
From this time on, the familiar Stone Blast makes its appearance. Unlike the kamaboko board, carving the sacred words discreetly on the thin stick was painstaking. However, the process is the same. The DEX agility that I raised with each level-up does a good job.
Also, instead of the primitive method of attaching magic stones one by one and activating it, I added a switch that can be turned on and off manually. Like the bulb experiment in elementary school, it’s good as long as you can open and close the circuit. This feature is also present in my other magical tools. The most challenging part was supplying MP. Where to hide the supply source of magic stones? I splurged and bought magic threads, roughly meshed them, wrapped around 100 magic stones, put them in a bag, tucked them under my clothes, extended the thread from under my sleeves to connect it to the wand. This solves the reload problem for now. I want to refine it more in the future.
That’s enough trivia about magical tools. Now, it’s time for the unparalleled.
“O goddess of abundant harvest dwelling in the earth, grant my wish in exchange for the offered mana. Numerous small stones, soar, shatter the enemy, Stone Blast!”
Having finished the chanting first, I opened the door to the monster house. The chanting is fake, but it would be troublesome if someone found out about non-chanting or if they realized the wand was a magical tool. As soon as I closed the door, countless wings buzzed, and at the same time, I turned on the switch of the wand.
Crackle, crackle, crackle, crackle!
Countless stone B8llets shot out from the tip of the wand, all hitting the dragonflies. Afterward, only coins and feathers scattered around.
“Alexi-kun, this is…”
Senior Camille is dumbfounded. My current status is as follows:
Name: Alexi Appel
Race: Human
Title: Appel Trading Company Heir
Level: 8
HP: 50
MP: 400
POW: 5
INT: 40
AGI: 10
DEX: 25
Attribute: Earth
Skills:
None
(Stone Bullet)
(Landscape)
(Rock Wall)
(Spear Art)
(Body Enhancement)
Equipment: Ordinary clothes (E)
Magical Tool: Shotgun (E)
Status Points Remaining: 0
Skill Points Remaining: 80
After realizing that I couldn’t beat the bats even with magical tools, I allocated almost all the stat points from leveling up to INT (intelligence). Thanks to that, my HP is still only 50, like paper armor. However, I need to raise it to at least 36 to handle the 36 dragonflies in this monster house. The number of stone pellets generated by Stone Blast is INT/1, so it’s a bit of a tight situation.
The effort I put into leveling up last week paid off. It seems my DEX agility is also sufficient, as all shots hit successfully. Alright, let’s go all out with Senior’s doping today.
However, understandably, I have to collect the scattered coins and feathers by myself. It would be instant with an inventory. Today’s biggest challenge might be this.
