Chapter 110 - Chapter 110: To the Forest Elf Village
Chapter 110: To the Forest Elf Village
By the time Luca woke up on the bed made of stone walls, the cleaning of the workshop was mostly done. We had lunch together again in the tidy workshop. Learning from the lesson of going hungry during dungeon conquests, I always packed plenty of food in my inventory.
“Mmm, these skewers are quite delicious.”
“They’re from a popular stall in Marol.”
“This watermelon is so sweet! It’s perfect for autumn.”
“That’s from the market in Arcart.”
They were things Luca liked when we first explored the capital city of Arcart together.
Then, we delved into alchemy talk. I demonstrated the concentrated enchantment that Urrica and I had developed 30 years ago.
“Haha, unbelievable. Well, if you gather the same materials a thousand or two thousand times, such enchantments are possible.”
“I was also ridiculed for it 30 years ago.”
“Wow, Alexi, this is amazing! So, this is how alchemy works!”
“It’s relatively simple, isn’t it?”
“Luca, you won’t find anyone else in the world capable of performing such ridiculous enchantments except for Alexi.”
That’s rude.
Self-made magical tools, dog tags, and gem-like magic stones layered with concentration upon concentration.
“I’ll give each of you one. I’ve only managed to make one for each of you so far.”
Urrica was trembling with excitement.
“Are you planning to destroy the country or something?”
“No, with this, I won’t run out of magic power even in an emergency. And besides, I can make as many as I want.”
Urrica muttered, “As many as I want…” and was wide-eyed as she held the Storm Dragon Emerald +1. Meanwhile, Luca said,
“Thank you, Alexi! It’s beautiful!”
He added the Grand Dragon Topaz +1 pendant to his dog tag pendant. I was glad they liked them.
The enjoyable time passed quickly. It was soon time for me to leave. I took Luca back to the count’s mansion. Since I couldn’t use teleportation because it was a bit of a hassle with Luca not letting go of my hand!
Monday, December 9th, 358th year of the kingdom. This time, I immediately started making dog tag necklaces for Urrica and preparing for the end of the loop with the Forest Elf Village after school. First, I went to Plebeville to hunt down Ruf. It was so much fun that I got carried away. I smoothly made tags for the falcon, sylph, and fire mouse, and prepared cords for the pendants with magic threads woven in. I’d like to remake them properly with holy silver mithril or something someday.
Since I finished everything easily by Wednesday, I decided to make a status immunity item by revisiting the Super Water Dungeon. I also thought about making physical attack and defense increase items by revisiting Earth, but I ran out of time. I’ll do it next week.
“Why are you aiming for so much?”
However, when I visited Urrica’s workshop on Saturday to give her the dog tag necklaces, instead of praise, I received thunderous scolding. I didn’t understand.
“Ohhh… if she finds out about this, I’ll get a good scolding from my great-grandmother…”
“Well, since it was Master who leaked the secret technique, shouldn’t he be the one to be scolded?”
“My great-grandmother is a very scary person!”
“Well then, would she be pleased if I made another set?”
“Let’s do that!”
My after-school schedule for next week was now filled. Since it’s test season, I should be able to make them easily.
Now, today’s purpose isn’t that. The reason I made dog tags for Urrica is to gradually head to the relay point for registration at the Forest Elf Village from today.
“Oh, you’re really going for it.”
“Last time, Urrica set up the Wind Wall.”
Flying training above the workshop. With her companion, the sylph, she easily mastered flight. According to her, there are several Forest Elf villages in deep forests around the world. Her hometown is the furthest one.
“In that case, flying east would be faster, but if I follow the route I took…”
She came to Lachine by crossing an inland sea along the coast. That means Arcart is closer.
“Okay, it’s Arcart. We’re going further west from here, right?”
“…Just for a moment. You really are something, huh…”
Since we reunited, Urrica has been looking distant like this all the time. Even though it was Urrica who taught me about enchantments. I don’t understand.
“Abababababa!!!”
She planned to cross the continent, cross the ocean along the northern islands, and head to the western continent. So, I used three Talismans of Ruf and three Talismans of the falcon, and further enhanced wind attributes with the flying device and acceleration device, and tried to fly over the islands.
“You trying to kill me?!!!”
We landed temporarily, and Urrica scolded me angrily. Huh? Wasn’t this kid supposed to be a comedian?
“Don’t you dare think such rude things!”
Thwack.
“Ouch!”
—So, it was Saturday afternoon. We had arrived at the continent where the Forest Elf Village was located, just before the vast forest.
Beyond the great forest was the territory of the forest elves. Other races were not allowed to enter without permission.
“No, it’s not like that, you know? It’s easy to get lost.”
“Huh, really?”
My lofty admiration for the Forest Elves crumbled away. Anyway, it wouldn’t be good to visit someone’s house empty-handed. We decided to build a citadel fortress and establish a base before going back to the workshop.
After that, we created teleportation devices in the workshop. When I asked Urrica if she could use them, she said she could manage somehow. Surprisingly, she hadn’t actively used magic tools other than her own attributes. “If teleportation fails, it could be a disaster,” she said. I still couldn’t appraise her stats as usual, but her appraisal eyes seemed to be different from mine, showing the necessary stats and values for skill acquisition.
At night, when I went to pick up Luca, he pouted, saying, “Did you already go to the Forest Elf Village? That’s not fair!” However, when Urrica earnestly told him, “It’s okay not to go together,” he seemed to understand something. That night, the three of us enjoyed making magical tools and enchantments endlessly with the materials we had. We’re all research maniacs.
