Chapter 17: Honor church

After Michael's confession to Crystal, the bond between them deepened. They grew closer, their conversations filled with warmth and understanding. While this new chapter in his life brought joy, the shadow of danger loomed over him.

The assassin didn't stop coming after Michael. No matter how many he fought, there was no end. He had already killed over a hundred attackers, each encounter more brutal than the last. Yet the relentless tide continued, a grim reminder of the enemies lurking in the dark.

A Few Days Later

Late at night, Michael sat on bench in park, holding his phone to his ear. His tone was calm but purposeful. "Yeah, I'll be there soon," he said before hanging up.

He turned to Crystal, who was sitting beside him, her head resting gently on his shoulder. Her eyes carried a mix of concern and longing as he explained his departure. "I'll be gone for a week, maybe longer," he told her.

Crystal hesitated but eventually nodded. Though reluctant, she respected his determination. Seeing her downcast expression, Michael leaned closer and added with a playful smile, "For compensation, you can have me all night."

Crystal's mood instantly brightened. Her smile lit up the park as she grabbed his hand and exclaimed, "Then let's not waste any time!" Dragging him enthusiastically, she planned an impromptu date, leading Michael through the city's quiet streets, the two of them laughing and enjoying each moment together.

The next morning, Michael stood outside the hostel, his motorcycle gleaming under the early sun. Michael revved the engine and sped off, leaving behind a trail of dust and a sense of anticipation.

After hours on the road, Michael finally arrived at Honor Church. The ancient structure stood tall, its stone walls weathered but resilient, much like the people within it.

Inside, the familiar sight of his brothers praying brought a sense of comfort. Father Gabriel, standing at the altar, looked up and smiled warmly as Michael entered.

Michael greeted them all with genuine affection. Turning to one of his brothers, he said, "It's been a long time. How are you, Brother Pedro?"

Pedro smiled back and replied, "Well, everything is alright here. What about your mission?"

Before Michael could respond, Father Gabriel approached, his expression curious yet teasing. "It seems you've made many friends—and a special one, too," he said, raising an eyebrow knowingly.

Michael scratched the back of his head, his usual confidence replaced with a rare hint of embarrassment. "It seems you already know everything," he admitted.

Gabriel chuckled. "Yes, everything."

Michael decided to ask directly. "If you already know everything, will you approve of our relationship?"

Gabriel's gaze softened. "I am not in that position to say anything about your personal love life. But as a father figure, I approve of this."

Hearing this, Michael smiled brightly. "Thank you so much, Father," he said, his voice filled with gratitude.

Gabriel's tone turned serious. "Why didn't you bring your little brother Eli here?"

Michael's smile faded slightly. "Well, there have been many attacks recently. I can't put him in danger."

Gabriel frowned. "Who is behind the attacks?"

Michael shook his head. "I think it's one of our enemies."

Gabriel placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry. I'll handle it."

The doors to the church swung open, and Raphael strolled in, his confident grin lighting up the room. Spotting Michael, his eyes gleamed with mischief. "So, you're finally here. I've been waiting for you, Michael."

Michael, unimpressed, replied with a bored tone, "What do you want?"

"A battle," Raphael declared, his excitement evident.

"Why?" Michael asked flatly.

Raphael's grin faltered, a vein throbbing on his temple. "To test our strength, of course! Why else?"

Michael tilted his head, feigning confusion. "Why should I check your strength?"

Raphael's frustration boiled over. "What level of idiot are you? And our brothers still praise your intelligence! How can someone so dumb be smarter than me?"

Father Gabriel sighed and intervened. "Michael, you shouldn't do this with your brother."

Michael turned to Pedro for support. "I didn't do anything wrong, did I?"

Pedro, raising his hands in surrender, said, "Don't involve me in this."

Michael spent the next week sparring with Pedro and the others. Pedro was relentless, his critiques sharp but constructive. "It seems you're lacking in your training," he said during one match. "You need to be taught a lesson. Your body might be powerful, but that's no excuse for slacking."

Day and night, Michael endured the grueling training sessions. Each day brought a new opponent, a new challenge, and by the end of the week, his body screamed for rest.

On the final day, he lay on the ground, panting heavily, his muscles trembling from exhaustion.

Father Gabriel approached him with a small black box. "Here," he said, "This is my blessing for you."

Inside the box was a red diamond ring, its brilliance captivating. Michael's eyes welled up as he bowed deeply. "Thank you, Father."

Gabriel placed a hand on his shoulder. "Remember, Michael, to live a happy life. Your brothers didn't get this chance. Don't waste it on revenge."

"I promise, Father," Michael said solemnly.

For his final trial, Michael faced a room filled with 100 wolves. Their eyes glinted with hunger as they lunged at him. Michael's red eyes gleamed with an ominous light as he tore off his shirt, revealing his muscular frame.

The first wave of wolves charged, but Michael moved with deadly precision, tearing through them like a predator among prey. His roars echoed through the room, a chilling reminder of his unmatched strength.

After departing the church, Michael received a call from Zack. "We need help," Zack said before hanging up. Irritated, Michael muttered, "Why do you always give half the information?"

At the bar, he found Daniel being beaten by Taesoon Ma. Stepping in, Michael blocked Taesoon's fist with his leg. "Stop bullying the kids," he said before launching a powerful kick that sent Taesoon flying.

Their battle was intense, but Michael's raw strength and skill proved overwhelming.Soon the fight was interrupted by a man in white and pink hair. Michael didn't bother he needed to go meet his friends.

That night, after returning to the hostel and sharing a meal with his friends, Michael met Crystal at the park. Holding her close, he confessed his fears. "My life is full of danger, but I promise I'll never let anyone harm you. Will you stay with me, even if your life is at risk?"

Crystal smiled warmly. "I've already decided to be with you, no matter what."

Michael held her tighter. "You're my diamond, Crystal. I'll protect you with everything I have."
