{Author: hey guys sorry I was gone for so long, I had said on webnovel that I had midterms the whole week and then this week I also got delayed but here I am finally writing a chapter.}

Meelis then stated, "Okay, then Jeanne I would like to offer you an invitation to join my peerage."

"What is…" Before Jeanne could finish the question she was about to ask, Meelis interrupted her saying, "Of course, you don't know what a peerage is, so I am not going to make you join me just yet, I'd like for you to join us in our group as we search for more potential member here in Italy, after you learn more about us and what peerages are, then I'll ask you again if you'd like to join me."

"…Okay." Jeanne said after thinking about it for a moment.

Meelis extended a hand toward Jeanne, his expression calm but his eyes glinting with purpose. "Come along, then. As we travel, you'll have a chance to understand who we are, what a peerage is, and what it could mean for you."

Jeanne looked at his hand, hesitating, but after a moment of consideration, she took it. Rias and Grayfia watched with approving glances, satisfied that the first step was taken.

While they did call everyone else to tell them they found someone, they did not get back together yet as they all wanted a chance to sightsee more and enjoy their time, not to mention they could potentially miss out on anyone if they just left right after.

The group set off, moving back through the narrow, ancient streets of Rome. They explained to Jeanne that the peerage was a group of chosen individuals, each of whom played a unique role and possessed special abilities or potential. With each explanation, Jeanne's curiosity grew.

Grayfia, ever the diligent maid, added, "The concept of a peerage is specific to the devils' hierarchy. A king can reincarnate beings into their servants, enhancing their powers and giving them a place in a new world. It's like a family of warriors, each bound to the king."

Immediately, hearing Grayfia say Devils, Jeanne was about to freak out before Meelis stated, "While we are devils, that doesn't mean were evil, not everyone is good or evil, just like with humans, so while I don't expect you completely trust us just yet, I hope you don't just suddenly start to distrust us."

Jeanne suddenly felt a little embarrassed but quickly let it go and focused on the other part of the sentence that Grayfia said.

She found herself intrigued by the idea of a new "family," one bound by purpose rather than blood. A life with others who understood her unusual powers sounded more appealing than she would have expected.

Rias leaned down to Jeanne's level, her warm smile encouraging. "If you join, you'll train to master that Sacred Gear of yours, the holy sword. With time, you could become stronger than any human you've encountered."

Hearing them mention the holy sword Jeanne curiously asked, "Holy sword, but then doesn't that mean that I could harm you guys with it?" while she did wonder if she could harm them with it, Jeanne didn't ask with intention to harm them just pure curiosity.

Rias chuckled softly, her blue eyes sparkling with a mixture of amusement and admiration. "Technically, yes, Jeanne. Holy attributed items, like swords, spells, or the like are potent against devils like us. But that's why it's even more special, you've been gifted with something unique and powerful, something that makes you different. And with training, you can learn to wield it without fear of hurting those you care about."

Grayfia added, her tone reassuring, "While holy power can affect us, it's not something we can't handle with the right preparation. Besides, there are ways to train your abilities so that you can control where and how that power flows. With discipline, you could even suppress or redirect it."

Jeanne looked down, mulling over the implications. "I've never thought about learning to control it. I didn't even know what it was until today." She looked back up, her eyes filled with a quiet determination. "But I want to try. I want to learn."

Meelis nodded approvingly. "That's the spirit. This power of yours—it's a part of you. And once you understand it, you'll realize it doesn't have to control you. You control it." He placed a hand on her shoulder gently, giving her a nod of encouragement.

With each step they took, Jeanne found herself easing into their company, her initial fears fading. Jeanne, despite being an antagonist in the original manga, is not a bad person; in fact, she is an inherently good person, just that when she joined Cao Cao she was under a different perspective and under a different environment, so her views towards the devils and the other factions were inherently skewed.

They passed through the lively streets of Rome, where art and architecture flourished in the soft glow of the afternoon sun. For a moment, they all paused, taking in the sights around them.

Jeanne looked up at Meelis, curiosity glinting in her eyes. "So, what exactly is it that you're looking for in a peerage member? Is there something special that makes someone eligible?"

Meelis considered her question thoughtfully. "Potential, Jeanne. For a lot of devils, peerage members can either be servants or family, but they all search for people with potential, we look for unique individuals with gifts or skills that set them apart. But it's more than just power. It's about character, resilience, and a desire to grow. It's why we chose to bring you along on this journey before asking you to join outright. We believe in giving you a choice, and you deserve the time to see who we are."

Rias added with a smile, "And that way, you can decide if you feel like you'd fit into this little family of ours."

As they continued walking, the bond between them grew stronger, a feeling that left Jeanne wondering if she had truly found a place where she belonged. For the first time in a long time, she felt she might have found something close to home.
