After everyone reached the hotel and got their own separate rooms, Grayfia pulled Meelis out for questions.

"Meelis-sama, may I ask what you made a clone for?" Grayfia asked Meelis this question, not because she was angry or anything, she was just genuinely curious about what would require him to sneak a clone out of everyone's sight.

Meelis misunderstanding her quickly stated, "It's not for anything nefarious, I simply left a clone out for a few things, one is because I wanted a clone to keep searching for more potential peerage members just in case, and second, in a few days a full moon should happen, and I require not only a full moon but also a deserted enough area to try a new spell I made."

Even though Meelis was essentially revealing some crucial details about the spell, and that he made a new spell, Meelis wasn't about to hide it from her, since she would eventually be on his side anyways, and because she was going to be present there in a few days anyways, so might as well get a few brownie points from her now by revealing 'confidential' information. 

"I see, in that case, I will allow you to keep a clone out to explore, just make sure not to cause any disturbances since even if we aren't in charge of the territory at the moment, it is still technically ours." Grayfia softened as Meelis revealed his reasons and just took care to warn him about causing trouble.

-Scene Change-

While Meelis was being truthful about his actions, he wasn't being entirely truthful about them.

The real reason he sent out a clone to explore Kuoh Town wasn't just because of the spell he was planning to use, and to find potential peerage members.

Meelis wanted to find out whether a certain Boob-loving pervert existed in this universe, and if he did, how should he deal with him. Considering some things from the cannon were already diverted because of his existence, then it should stand to reason that the birth of the protagonist, Hyoudou Issei, might not have happened, and even if it did, he might not be the protagonist anymore.

As clone Meelis was flying through Kuoh Town, he used his Demonic Power to transform his appearance into a random person.

While this could be seen as a skill, which would have popped up on his status board, surprisingly it did not, which led Meelis to speculate what are the requirements to have a skill.

Even though Meelis has been training various skills such as mathematics, history, and etiquette with Venelana, and various martial skills with Grayfia and other peerage members like Souji Okita who has been training Meelis with swordsmanship, none of them resulted in skills popping up.

At first, Meelis thought it might be because they aren't skills that he obtained through (Get Creative), but he obtained (Touki) as a side effect and it showed in his status board, this led him to speculate that only techniques, and Demonic Spells, or things made from (Get Creative) show up on his status board.

He wasn't sure whether this was a good or bad thing, but he took it in stride since it didn't affect him much.

{Author: I believe Ive mentioned this before but there is a difference between Demonic Spells and brute forcing Demonic Power. Demonic power is essentially forcefully bending reality to produce a result, and Demonic Spells are the result of using Demonic Power to fuel the humans Magic Spells, thereby producing better results. Basically, demonic power is imagination and human's magic is calculations, so devils can use both methods for more powerful techniques. That's not to say human spells came before demonic spells, just that they use the same calculation method, except devils can replace most parts with Demonic power to just brute force the harder parts}

After transforming into a different person through pure Demonic Power, clone Meelis followed his senses to search for stronger life forces.

Despite that, however, he was having no luck finding anyone. 'Wait a minute…. I feel like I forgot I have the biggest wiki cheat in my head.'

Smacking his head at his own stupidity clone Meelis immediately used his skill, 'Great Sage, has the user of the Boosted Gear been born yet?'

(Great Sage: The user of the boosted gear was born 11 years ago.)

'That's great, at least I know the boosted gear is active.' Clone Meelis decided to ask for more information.

'Great Sage, what is the location of the user of the Boosted Gear?'

(Great Sage: The user of the boosted gear is approximately 40 feet away from the user inside of a two-story house with a front yard and a balcony located in…)

Ignoring the small headache from the two consecutive uses of (Great Sage) clone Meelis quickly followed the coordinates pointed out by the skill. While having the knowledge that the boosted gear was in Kuoh was convincing enough for most people, to clone Meelis that wasn't enough, for all he knew the user of Boosted Gear was not Issei, but a female counterpart of Issei. This is why he framed his question as the 'user of boosted gear' rather than asking if Issei was around, because in hindsight without his boosted gear Issei did not really matter, only whoever wields the boosted gear did.

As he arrived close to the house, he immediately sensed the life force of something stronger than the average human. While it could be anything, clone Meelis was inclined to believe it was the unawakened user of boosted gear as it was too weak for that to be a dragon's but stronger than a normal human's.

Quickly he used his Demonic power to force the door open, much to the shock of the couple in the living room.

Before they could do anything clone Meelis used his (Absolute Hypnosis) to make them forget him and swiftly knocked them out to prevent any mishaps. The only thing they'll remember is falling asleep in the living room. Thankfully, messing with two normal humans is not draining at all.

As clone Meelis made his way through the house he found his way to the room where great sage pointed to and walked in.

In the room a boy around his age lay sleeping in bed, before he could wake up clone Meelis quickly knocked him out in his sleep to prevent him from waking up while he was there.

Clone Meelis used (Discerning Eye) which he rarely used on others to inspect the status of the boy in front of him.

'Well well well, would you look at that, this world is slowly derailing because of my existence, yet you somehow still exist Issei, now what should I do with you?' clone Meelis wondered considering the implications of the world losing its protagonist.

Before he could think further clone Meelis felt an incredibly painful sensation across his torso before disappearing, but not before looking at who caused him so much pain.
