Live Stream: I Am A Lord In Another World

Chapter 121 - Take Stone Fort City! Suppress the Northeast Region!

“Quick, block them!”

In the Stone Fort City, the several thousand rebels stationed at the city gate surged forward.

These several thousand rebels were the trusted subordinates brought up from the south by General Rigg.

General Rigg had specifically left them behind to guard the city.

After all, General Rigg considered this his base camp and naturally wanted to leave a reliable force to defend it.

Although the rebels were a disorganized mob, those who had fought alongside General Rigg were significantly more formidable than other troops.

Moreover, there were quite a few traps set up by the rebels at the city gate.

Thanks to Dorothy having killed many of the defenders stationed above the city gate, there were fewer traps on the gate now.

For example, there might have been hot oil or large stones.

Due to Dorothy’s preemptive strike against the defenders, they did not get a chance to set up these traps.

Even so, the damage to the bandits was still significant.

If the vanguard were minotaurs, even though they were extremely strong, some would probably still fall victim to the traps.

“Charge!”

Despite the heavy casualties, the bandits had been fighting for years and had far more combat experience than the rebels.

After securing the bridgehead, more and more bandits surged into the city.

Soon, several thousand bandits had entered the city and began their assault on the several thousand rebels.

“Advance!”

Richard waved his hand, and immediately, the minotaurs charged in with a thunderous roar.

The bandits had already cleared the way, so the minotaurs could advance.

Following them, over twenty thousand prisoners from the Northeast region also charged in.

“Follow me!”

Charlotte led over three hundred troops toward the west gate.

Meanwhile, Charlotte’s father led another three hundred troops toward the east gate.

A strong force of three hundred from the external troops moved toward the south gate.

As for the north gate, it was the primary target of the assault.

Richard aimed to seize all the city gates before the rebels inside Stone Fort City could react, effectively surrounding the city.

This way, no rebels would be able to escape.

If these guys managed to escape everywhere, it would take a lot of time to clear them out.

Some of the rebels might even turn and become new bandits.

Thus, Richard aimed to resolve all issues in one battle.

One of Richard’s thousand-man legions, in coordination with crossbowmen, had climbed the city wall and prepared to capture it.

Thus, a thousand crossbowmen gained a high ground advantage on the wall.

The other thousand-man legion followed Richard, pressing behind the minotaurs.

Richard personally rode into the city.

If he didn’t have 3.5 times the physical attributes, he wouldn’t have ventured so recklessly into the battlefield.

However, such a formidable physical constitution, combined with full armor, gave Richard ample confidence.

“Young friend, I’m coming with you!”

When Count Zane saw Richard preparing to enter the city, he also prepared to go in.

“This city was lost under my command. Now that we can reclaim it, I want to do my part. Young friend, rest assured, all the credit is yours.” Count Zane said.

Richard agreed.

Thus, Count Zane led his personal guard of over a thousand nobles and followed Richard into the city.

Once Richard entered, the minotaurs had already charged into the midst of the rebels, and with the bandits’ assistance, they inflicted devastating damage on the several thousand rebels stationed behind the city gate.

Soon after, Richard’s thousand-man legion also joined the battle.

“All of you, advance!”

Count Zane also directed his noble guards to join the fray.

These noble guards were not actually unskilled.

However, due to their status as noble guards, when they were previously in Stone Fort City, each of them considered their position superior to ordinary soldiers, so they were somewhat complacent. Relying on them to show significant combat prowess in battle was nearly impossible.

After all, in large-scale warfare, coordination between troops is crucial.

However, after being trained by Count Zane for a while, these guards had become more disciplined.

The words of a count still carry weight.

So, these guys managed to make some impact.

With the combined efforts of several armies, the rebels soon began to falter.

At this point, the other rebels in the city began to trickle in for support, but it made little difference to the overall situation.

“Report, the enemy has breached the city!”

Half a day into the battle, the two aides at Count Zane’s estate, who had been enjoying themselves drinking, received the news.

“Enemy? What enemy?”

The two aides were abruptly sobered up.

“I don’t know, but the city gate has already fallen!”

The subordinate reporting the news said.

“Hurry, gather more men. If Stone Fort City falls, General Rigg will have our heads.”

The two aides were terrified.

They had no idea that General Rigg’s own head had already fallen.

The two aides weren’t slow to act. Soon, they had assembled a large force of rebels and headed towards the city gate.

However, the rebels there had already been thoroughly defeated.

Many rebels, fearing for their lives, had even surrendered.

Richard’s forces began pushing deeper into the city.

“Brothers, let’s push them back!”

The two aides directed their rebel forces towards Richard’s troops.

“Don’t be afraid; they’re no match for you!”

Another aide shouted.

【Haha, this brother’s confidence rivals that arrogant small leader.】

【Watching the anchor crush opponents.】

【The anchor is unfair; he started streaming so late today. It’s dark and not as pleasant as watching in daylight.】

【Be satisfied. If you keep complaining, the anchor will show you what real ruthlessness looks like!】

【…】

In the live stream, many viewers were enjoying the show.

On the widest street in Stone Fort City, a dense mass of rebels charged towards Richard’s forces.

“Roar!”

Tieling, the minotaur, let out a thunderous roar and led dozens of minotaurs in a sweeping charge.

Immediately, though the rebels were numerous, they were no match for the minotaurs. They were like scarecrows, being knocked down and sent flying by the minotaurs.

【Once Brother Bull makes a move, the outcome is clear!】

【Invincible!】

【I’m suddenly a bit scared. Even a hundred of me couldn’t take down one of Brother Bull!】

In the live stream, viewers were thrilled by the minotaurs’ prowess.

On the front lines, unless there were dirty tricks, the minotaurs were overwhelmingly powerful.

Thousands of bandits followed behind the minotaurs, engaging with rebels emerging from alleyways.

Urban combat in the city was largely street fighting.

And minotaurs were particularly well-suited for street fighting.

“How can these people be so tall!”

Seeing the minotaurs battering the rebels mercilessly, the two aides were stunned.

“Demi-humans, it’s demi-humans!”

One of the aides recognized them, his voice trembling with fear.

“Hurry, gather more men!”

“It’s bad, it’s bad. A large force has appeared at the west gate, and the gate has been breached.”

At this moment, a subordinate rushed over in a panic.

“It’s worse, the east gate has also been breached.”

Another subordinate reported urgently.

Soon, the two aides learned that all the city gates had been captured. Their escape routes were completely cut off.

At this time, a fireball shot into the night sky and exploded, illuminating the sky brightly.

Immediately after, a head flew into the sky.

When the two aides saw that head, they were terrified out of their wits.

The head belonged to General Rigg!!

“General Rigg is dead, and your 70,000 troops have been defeated. What are you still resisting for?”

A voice full of authority echoed.

“What? General Rigg is dead?”

“Impossible, General Rigg is dead?”

“…”

The news of General Rigg’s death instantly caused panic among the already faltering rebels.

“He’s lying. That can’t be General Rigg. General Rigg has 70,000 troops; he couldn’t have lost!”

One aide screamed in disbelief.

Even though he saw General Rigg’s head, he still couldn’t believe it. Or rather, he didn’t want to believe it.

“Yes, it must be a trick. Everyone, continue fighting and drive them out!”

Another aide shouted.

“Whoosh!”

At that moment, an arrow shot across more than 200 meters and pierced through that aide.

Seeing this, the other aide quickly ducked and hid among the crowd.

Although he avoided the arrow, the rebels could no longer hold their ground.

“Submit and you will not be killed!”

The minotaurs roared.

“Continue the attack, don’t believe them!”

The other aide shouted from the crowd.

Some rebels continued to resist, but more of them began to contemplate surrender.

“Run!”

Someone shouted, and the rebels in the back scattered in all directions.

But with the city gates completely surrounded, where could the rebels escape to?

Nevertheless, due to the particular chaos in the city, even though the outcome of the war was no longer in doubt, it still dragged on for quite some time.

The viewers in the live stream didn’t see the entire course of the battle.

After all, Richard only had a little over an hour of streaming time.

But they had already seen the most exciting parts.

In Stone Fort City, after occupying the four city gates, Richard’s forces stationed one or two thousand men at each gate to defend them. The rest began clearing the streets, one by one.

There were a large number of surrendering rebels.

Some rebels, like headless chickens, were also quickly rounded up.

Those who surrendered in time could be spared, but those who resisted were met with death.

Finally, by the time the sun rose the next day, the battle in Stone Fort City came to an end.

All the rebels had been captured.

Outside Stone Fort City, the prisoners were all gathered there.

Out of the 40,000 rebels stationed in Stone Fort City, 7,000 to 8,000 were dead, and the rest had been captured.

Many of these rebels originally belonged to the Northeast region.

Richard left Jim behind to handle the situation and led a thousand troops and fifty minotaurs on a swift march to Westgar City.

The remaining rebels in Westgar City numbered only a few thousand.

Moreover, the defenses of Westgar City were not as strong as Stone Fort City.

With Richard using fireballs in coordination with the minotaurs to blast open the city gates, and several fireballs causing panic among the defenders near the gate, who fled in terror, he and his troops, along with the minotaurs, stormed into the city. They quickly defeated the few thousand defenders and drove them all towards Stone Fort City.

Thus, Westgar City was also reclaimed.

With the recapture of these two largest cities in the Northeast region, only some smaller towns remained.

These smaller towns had no significant rebel presence; the rebels had already looted their supplies and gathered in Stone Fort City.

General Rigg knew that the strength of the rebels lay in their numbers, so apart from leaving a few thousand defenders in Westgar City, he had not dispersed the rebel forces.

This situation actually worked to Richard’s advantage.

Three days later, Richard brought the prisoners from Westgar City to Stone Fort City.

By this time, the prisoners in Stone Fort City had been sorted out.

The rebels were classified based on their actions—those who had committed crimes and those who had not.

The prisoners originally from the Northeast region were separated from those who came from the South.

Richard fulfilled his promise and released the 28,000 prisoners from the Northeast region.

Many of the freed prisoners joyfully returned to their homes.

However, they soon discovered that their homes had been stripped of food by the rebels and used for public distribution.

General Rigg had implemented a policy of confiscating and then redistributing all supplies.

But when it came to distribution, Rigg was biased.

Many people were still starving.

Moreover, the tens of thousands of people Rigg brought from the South had consumed all the food plundered from the Northeast region.

As a result, the 20,000 or so prisoners from the Northeast cried when they returned home.

At this point, they recalled Richard’s promise.

So, not long after returning home, they came back in droves to find Richard and offer their services.

Their demands were pitifully low; some didn’t even ask for wages, only hoping for a full meal for themselves and their families.

This situation was exactly what Richard had anticipated.

He distributed some of the food that General Rigg had plundered and sent large numbers of prisoners, along with a sizable escort, back to Florencia City to join the road construction and land reclamation efforts.

Meanwhile, Richard’s forces used their speed advantage to strike out and defeat many small groups of rebels.

A few small towns with rebel garrisons were also quickly recaptured.

When the last small town was reclaimed, there were no more visible rebel forces in the Northeast region.

And now, with only two-thirds of the month-long deadline for recapturing the Northeast region passed, Richard had defeated over a hundred thousand rebels, reclaimed a large number of cities, and fully restored the Northeast region in just over twenty days!
