Chapter 28: Chapter 28

"Did Logan find something? Even though I didn't explain the blade's purpose, Logan still trusted that it could end the battle. This kind of trust is what makes the foundation of friendship I guess…." Mike whispered, smiling.

For the next ten seconds, amidst the clinking sounds and Logan's relentless assault, their Zanpakutōs collided numerous times with the adamantium blade, also slashing Weapon XI dozens of times.

"Time's up," Mike suddenly said.

"What?" Logan, panting with bloodshot eyes, tightened his grip on the knife as Weapon XI teleported away once again.

"Weren't you curious about what this knife does?" Mike chuckled. "You'll see soon enough."

Weapon XI teleported again, Logan licking the blood from the corner of his mouth, expecting another surprise attack. Instead, the figure appeared right in front of Mike.

"Get back!" Logan shouted, leaping in front of Mike.

Mike wasn't built like him, and if he was wounded by Weapon XI, then Clark might be left without a father. But Mike simply smiled at Weapon XI and calmly commanded, "Kneel!"

The next second, Logan's eyes widened in disbelief.

Weapon XI, who had just been ready to strike, seemed unable to lift his arm, which now dangled lifelessly at his side. His body buckled, and he knelt before them like a remorseful sinner.

Mike swiftly slashed several times with the knife, completely bringing down Weapon XI. "This knife doubles the weight of anything it hits," he explained.

"Damn!" Logan inhaled sharply, running his hand over the Zanpakuto. "This thing's incredible."

"Finish him off," Mike said, gesturing for Logan to take the kill.

Logan chuckled, stepping up to Weapon XI. He couldn't resist slashing at the downed foe a few more times. Then, his adamantium claws extended from his hands, aiming for Weapon XI's neck.

But just as the claws were about to strike, Weapon XI disappeared.

"He Teleported?" Logan blinked in surprise and looked around, but soon both he and Mike were laughing.

Weapon XI had reappeared a few meters away—still lying on the ground.

"Hahaha!"

Logan's laughter grew hard, but his bestial nature was still visible in his laughter.

Mike fought back a grin. "Finish it quickly before something else happens."

Logan nodded and moved toward the prone figure, but once again, Weapon XI vanished.

Mike and Logan turned their heads, searching for the next appearance.

But he was nowhere to be found, but Weapon XI, bound by its orders, wouldn't leave until its mission was complete, so…

Mike's eyes narrowed. "Logan, watch out! It's above you!"

Logan glanced upward just in time to see Weapon XI teleport directly above him, eyes glowing red as it fell toward him.

Without hesitation, Logan crossed his claws over his head, bracing for impact, while Mike quickly turned and bolted. A searing beam of light shot from Weapon XI's eyes, engulfing Logan.

Boom! Boom!

The scorching beams obliterated everything around Logan, pushing him into the ground.

Mike's mouth twitched. "He's quite a genius."

If he couldn't stand to attack, then he just had to appear above the target so that he could strike his target while being restricted. One had to give it to Weapon XI for this quick thinking.

"Ahhh!" Logan screamed, trying to fend off the blast. "Don't just stand there!" he shouted.

Mike smirked, eyeing Weapon XI as it descended. He tossed aside the Wabisuke blade and pulled out a different card—one infused with magic.

With a single thought, the card transformed into light and disappeared, replaced by a sharp dagger in front of him.

Grabbing the weapon in his hand, Mike muttered, "Shoot him, Sniper!"

[A/N: Okay, one correction, you have read this phrase "Shoot him, sniper", before I was confused to as what weapon it was referring to if we translate from Mandarin to English, then the words for Gun/Tiger/Spear are quite same, but now I am sure that it is a spear which can change the size of its blade.]

A thin beam of light shot forward, piercing through the space in front of Mike and directly through Weapon XI's skull as it prepared to finish off Logan.

The fiery beams ceased, leaving only faint traces of crimson light dissolving into the air.

Weapon XI's body split in two, falling from the sky in pieces as blood rained down on Logan.

Logan wiped the blood from his face, watching the blade that had seemingly pierced the roof quickly retract. He sighed and said, "Was all that necessary?"

Mike nodded seriously. "Given his self-healing powers, it was necessary, better safe than sorry."

He moved towards Weapon XI's dismembered body, driving the knife into it a few more times for good measure. Logan grimaced as his teeth ached from the repeated strikes.

Mike exhaled. "Now I'm satisfied."

"Fortunately, only two of Weapon XI's swords were made from adamantium. If his entire skeleton had been coated with adamantium like Logan's… this fight might've gone differently."

Whispering to himself, Mike turned to Logan.

Logan took a cautious step back, then chuckled, pointing towards the crumbled buildings where Black Emperor and Mr. Sinister had been. "What's all that?"

"Two monsters. Ignore them."

Mike dismissed it, signaling for them to leave.

Logan hesitated. "But the mutants that imprisoned there…"

"Don't worry," Mike reassured him. "The Black Emperor of the Hellfire Club came to rescue them."

"Black Emperor?" Logan's eyes widened, and then he nodded in understanding.

The Black Emperor was infamous for his global activities and was well-known in the mutant community. As a mutant, Logan knew him and his methods well.

The two quickly left the battlefield.

Mike glanced back, spotting a figure flying above, using telekinetic powers to hurl the remains of buildings to the ground.

"Is that Mr. Sinister?" Mike muttered. "Black Emperor can't fly."

Boom! Boom!

Explosions echoed across the island as the buildings crashed down, shattering upon impact.

Dust billowed into the air, and Mr. Sinister soared upward before disappearing.

"He just left?"

Mike blinked in surprise, then whispered, "Is it that he couldn't beat Shaw? Or did he leave to secure his 'collection'?"

It was unlikely Mr. Sinister had been defeated so easily, so Mike assumed it was the latter.

With his collection saved, Mr. Sinister had no reason to continue the fight.

On the other side, the Black Emperor, dusting himself off, watched Mr. Sinister leave, snorting coldly.

Bang!

Red smoke appeared as the Red Devil teleported next to him.

"How is it? Have all our people escaped?" the Black Emperor asked.

The Red Devil nodded. "Almost all."

"Almost?" The Black Emperor frowned, waiting for clarification.

"A woman named Kara refused to leave," the Red Devil explained. "She went to find a mutant named Logan. Said he's her lover."

The Black Emperor paused, then shrugged. "Let her be. Let's go."

The Red Devil placed a hand on the Black Emperor's shoulder, and in a flash of red mist, the two vanished.
