Level Up: Voidwalker

Chapter 294: Meet My Adoptive Family

Atlas and Raymond appeared above the Achaemendian army just as the Stormeagle unleashed a powerful Thunder Blast that took the enemy soldiers by surprise as they were sent flying everywhere.

'Fuck yes! They can't stand against us!' he thought as his excitement surged forth.

He chuckled at the sudden attack before leaping off the monster's back and headed straight for the empire commanders with a big smile. When Atlas got close, he started casting dozens of Void Bombs at the surrounding enemies.

Suddenly, the sky was lit up in a beautiful azure glow as they sliced through the air and slammed into a horde of soldiers. Explosion erupted, which caused complete chaos as blue fire washed over the screaming people.

The Thalassians froze in awe as they witnessed the devastating attacks. Moments later, Raymond swooped down from the skies, his massive talons ripping through the siege engines that had been relentlessly pounding the city walls.

Atlas continued attacking by taking out his swords and casting Void Infusion on the blades, which made them glow with a beautiful azure glow as he started cutting through the Achaemenids so fast that he was a blur outside Thalassia City.

Explosions rang out shortly after as he started casting Void Bombs that wiped out dozens of unsuspecting soldiers. Once hitting the ground, he opened a portal which allowed the women to appear.

'It's time for them to join, or they'll moan at me for having all the fun,' Atlas mused with a chuckle.

Nulia rushed into the fray in her Frostbear form and started swiping at the scared enemy troops with her giant paws. Seconds later, Amethyst shot through the portal while letting out a screech before unleashing a purple wave of fire.

Following that, Atlas was as the Honey Badger Lilith lunged at a group of berserkers and tore them apart with her sharp claws. Blood flew everywhere causing him to think with wide eyes and a big smile, 'She's brutal, but I love it.'

He stood still after cutting down dozens of Night Owls that tried to attack him, but Raymond the Stormeagle that scanned the surroundings also protected him. Atlas was proud of the three girls, but soon noticed Grishna in the middle of everything.

The Orc woman was bigger than usual and wore ancient-looking armor as she smashed the enemy soldiers with a giant warhammer. Atlas watched as Grishna was laughing while killing any Achaemenids that she came across.

'We should be able to win this fight in no time, then I can go meet my adoptive family,' he pondered before casting a wave of Void Bullets at a group of cavalry that was charging toward Artemis.

The brunette, in her alternate form, stood her ground, holding the road leading to the city as more enemies emerged. Atlas watched intently as she unleashed thunderbolts and hurled stone bullets, striking down dozens in an instant.

Atlas watched as she defeated her opponents with little effort as her giant form was annihilating any foes that came close while he thought with a proud smile, 'They have grown so strong. I'm glad I met them.'

Explosions erupted as her magic connected with the retreated empire soldiers. He watched Artemis chase the fleeing troops. She started pummeling them, only to be stopped by Zena and Estelle.

The wolf woman started using her ice magic to block the scared Achaemenids just before the blonde summoned her steel legion, that started butchering the enemy with ease as they couldn't fight back thanks to shock.

Atlas, satisfied with the outcome, joined the women in wiping out the empire's siege army. Meanwhile, Nulia and Amethyst soared around the Thalassian capital, eliminating any enemies they encountered, striking fear into the hearts of the Achaemenids.

Following that, he watched as the phoenix flew toward them, only to see a wave of mana shells flying toward them. Atlas sent the seven girls into the Otherworld before casting Void Guard to block the incoming attack.

'What the fuck are they doing!' he thought while losing his temper.

The girls quickly started sending him panicked messages, but Atlas had to ignore them and focus on the Thalassian attack. Without wasting time, he turned into his Voidwalker form, which scared the soldiers.

Atlas burst forward and started sprinting toward the city walls, which caused the enemy to attack once again, but in this form he dodge all the blasts before hitting the stone and climbing up like something from a nightmare.

An azure glow lit up his surroundings as he reached the top. When the Thalassians saw him, they were scared senseless, but his wicked smile grew wider before he started attacking the betrayers using his claws.

Blood stained the stone beneath him as Atlas deftly dodged the clumsy strikes from the soldiers. Frustration boiled over as he tried to aid the besieged, only for them to turn their weapons on him.

His fury only subsided when a man emerged from the chaos. The man's once-blond hair was streaked with gray, worn by the weight of years. At the sight of him, Atlas let out a heavy breath and shifted back into his human form.

Without hesitation, he summoned Estelle and Grishna, who flanked him protectively as the others gathered around as the man stepped forward with wide eyes as he spoke, ''Is that you, Atlas?''

When the girls heard this, their heads snapped toward the stranger as Atlas stepped forward. ''Hello Father. It's been a long time since we've seen each other.''

''What!'' several voices sounded out from behind him.

Atlas chuckled before explaining to his seven companions with a knowing smile. ''This is Duke Eldric Montague, the man who took me in as a baby and raised me as his own son.''

As the older man heard this, he quickly ordered the surrounding Thalassian soldiers to back off and not to attack. When the men and women got out of the way, Atlas stepped forward as Eldric quickly hugged him. ''It's good to see you, my boy.''

Following this, Eldric stepped back while speaking, ''Now let's get you home along with your friends.''

Before anyone could speak, Grishna stepped forward and held out her hand, ''I'm Grishna Brokentooth, one of Atlas's girlfriends. It's nice to meet you.''

All the girls looked at the Orc woman with wide eyes while Atlas started laughing, as she had a respectful look. She turned to him before whispering, ''Got to make a good first impression, he's your father after all.''

When Atlas heard this, he started laughing even more before nodding, ''Yes, you've certainly made an impression Grish.''

Suddenly, Eldric burst into laughter as he took her hand. ''It's good to see my boy has found himself some competent lovers. These times demand strength, and the Thalassians have just gained their aid in the form of you, son.''

Following that, the older man went to lead them home, but a horrid aura descended upon the city, causing Atlas to go stiff as memories flooded back to him when spotting a certain figure standing in the distance.

''Get the baby to Silvia's room, Arianna! She will send him away from that foul creature,'' a young man shouted as he rallied the remaining Pendragon forces.

''Husband, it will kill you, just like it did our parents. We need to run,'' Arianna pleaded, tears streaming down her face.

Arthur looked down at the baby boy cradled in her arms, his white hair and azure eyes mirroring their own. A proud smile crossed his lips. ''He's our legacy, Ari. He needs to survive, so one day he can avenge us and finally destroy the Chaos Monsters.''

The young woman nodded with a fearful smile, just as the terrifying screams of the monsters echoed through the air. Arthur swiftly pushed Arianna toward the hallway leading to the court mage's quarters, where they planned to send the baby to safety.

She turned back to him, her eyes filled with love, and pressed her lips to his in a final, lingering kiss. ''I shall see you in the Great Beyond, Arthur. I love you... and I always will.''

Following that, Arianna rushed off and watched as the remaining Pendragon forces rushed to help her husband. She turned around one last time as she watched Arthur charge into the fray while shouting, ''Give my wife time to save my son! He will avenge us against Chaos.''

Hearing those words, Arianna rushed down the hallway, her heart pounding, only to be met by Silvia, who quickly ushered her into a room. ''Get in, Ari! We need to begin the spell!''

The door slammed shut behind her, and as the mage began casting the spell, Arianna gently placed her baby boy in the center of the room. Kneeling beside him, she kissed his tiny forehead, her voice trembling with love. ''Live long, my son. Always know that your father and I loved you with all our hearts. The world may want you, but I won't let them take you.''
