Level 0 Summoner

Chapter 12: Chapter 12 – One Month Later

"Just like that Suki!" Ren said as he observed his beautiful summon fighting against a monster five times her size.

The monster she was currently facing was a Minotaur. A B-Rank monster against whom they had practically died one month ago because of its overwhelming force in hopes of gathering the necessary ingredients for Sofia. Ren still remembered vividly just how tough that fight had been, but thinking about what the skill had gotten out of it, he could only say it had been more than worth it.

Armed with a giant mace twice Suki's size, the Minotaur let out a guttural roar, swinging its weapon with enough force to send shockwaves through the ground. If a single strike landed on her… she would be nothing but a smear on the battlefield. But Ren watched with confidence, knowing the key word was: if.

Suki darted effortlessly between the Minotaur's attacks, her enhanced agility turning her into a blur. Her blonde hair and fox tail trailed behind her as she moved with precision, her dagger flashing under the bright sun.

Open Suki's Status, Ren thought, the familiar blue screen appearing before his eyes.

[Suki]

Over the past month, Suki's growth had been nothing short of astonishing. Ren and Emma had both been amazed at her talent—her base stats rivaled those of a Level 20 human Awakened. This natural advantage allowed her to fight monsters far above her level, gaining experience and power at an unprecedented rate.

Once she unlocked , the transformation was undeniable. The skill granted her the equivalent of fifty levels' worth of stats, turning her into an unstoppable force of agility and stamina. Now, she was single-handedly taking on a B-Rank monster—something Ren could only dream of surviving a month ago.

"Young Master, look!" Emma suddenly exclaimed, bringing Ren's attention away from Suki's Status. "She's about to win on her own against a B-Rank monster!"

Ren turned his focus back to the fight, barely able to keep track of Suki's movements. She darted forward, narrowly avoiding the mace as it slammed into the ground with a deafening boom. Dust and debris flew into the air, but Suki was already climbing up the Minotaur's arm, her dagger slicing through its thick, hide-like skin.

The Minotaur let out a bellow of rage, pulling its arm back in a futile attempt to shake her off. Suki flipped backward, landing gracefully on her feet, her chest rising and falling as she readied herself for the next attack. Despite her skill, Ren could see the toll the prolonged fight was taking on her. Thirty minutes of relentless combat was wearing her down, though her stamina held strong.

Suki's approach was deliberate. Her strategy of counterattacks chipped away at the monster's health, though its resilience made it a grueling battle. But now, the beast was on its last legs.[Minotaur Lv.54]

[Health: 235/10000]

"Love Stare!" Suki shouted, her voice ringing with confidence.

A faint pink glow radiated from her eyes, locking onto the Minotaur's gaze. The change in the beast was instant—it froze, its movements sluggish and uncoordinated. Its furious expression softened as it lumbered toward Suki with no intention of attacking. The mace slipped from its grasp, crashing to the ground.

Ren couldn't help but smirk. That skill might be ridiculous, but it worked.

Suki dashed forward, leaping into the air with her dagger poised to strike. Her small frame seemed almost weightless as she drove the blade into the Minotaur's chest with all her might.

The beast let out a final, mournful groan before collapsing to its knees. Blood poured from the gaping wound in its chest, staining the earth beneath it. Suki landed gracefully, withdrawing her dagger and delivering the finishing blow with one last thrust.

[Your summon  has killed a Lv.54 Minotaur.]

[You have received 5000 Experience Points and Suki also has received 5000 Experience Points.]

The Minotaur fell with a resounding thud, lifeless at last. Suki turned toward Ren, her face lit up with a triumphant smile. "I did it! I killed a Minotaur all by myself!"

Before Ren could say a word, she bolted toward him, leaping into his arms. She buried her face in his chest, her blood-streaked body clinging to him tightly.

Ren sighed but couldn't help smiling as he placed a hand on her head. "Good job, Suki. You were incredible."

He gently patted her head, his fingers brushing through her blonde hair. Suki closed her eyes, savoring the attention, her tail wagging happily behind her. But when Ren's hand grazed one of her fox ears, she froze, her eyes snapping open.

"I-I told you not to touch my ears…" she muttered, her cheeks flushing. "They're too sensitive."

Ren knew that fact very well as he could still remember one night in his bedroom where he touched them out of curiosity. He wasn't sure why she always had such strong reactions to it, but he also did not want to find out.

For the past month, Ren would cuddle with Suki. However, it never went beyond that. He had created clear rules as he did not want to end up in a similar situation as before. Ren had loved every moment with Suki that night… but thinking back on it. He realized that there were still many things he ignored about Suki…

The one thing that kept bugging Ren was the fact that Suki couldn't remember her past whatsoever. For all he knew, she had became a completely new person after he summoned her. In fact, she didn't remember anything about where she came from. There was also the fact that she had immediately recognized him as her master, listening to his every word no matter what it was.

That's why, as much as Suki loved Ren and kept trying to get closer with him. He had decided to keep their interactions below a certain threshold as long as he didn't learn more about the system. There was also the fact Ren had no idea how he had came into this world at all. One day, he was rammed by a truck and the next he had transmigrated inside this body.

"Ugh, not to interrupt," Emma cut in, her tone exasperated, "but we should head back to the Allen Estate. The Entrance Exam for the Royal Academy is tomorrow, and the family carriage leaves in three hours. If we miss it, we'll miss the exam."

Ren gently pushed Suki away, straightening up. "You're right. Let's not waste any more time. We didn't work this hard just to miss our chance."

"Brother," Noah sneered, his voice dripping with mockery, "you really think they'll let someone like you into the Royal Academy? You'd be better off applying to a trash-tier academy. This is your last chance, isn't it?"

For the past minutes, Noah kept trying to tease him, but the only thing he got as a response was silence. Ren stayed silent, his gaze fixed out the window. His focus was unshakable; he had no interest in entertaining Noah's taunts. He would let his actions speak for himself.

Across from him sat Luna, their eldest sister. Her presence was an enigma—someone of her stature had no reason to accompany them. Yet, she remained aloof, barely paying attention, her sharp gaze occasionally flicking toward Noah but never saying anything.

"Oh… did you bring your pet as emotional support for when you get refused again?" Noah smirked, bringing his hand forward toward Suki, who was in her fox form. But just as he was about to pat her, Suki bared her teeth and swiping at him with her razor-sharp claws.

Ren smiled, patting Suki's head carefully, not even glancing into his brother's eyes. However, he could feel his anger as some of his energy was leaking from his body. Sensing such ominous energy, Ren glanced at his sister who also noticed it right away.

"Noah." Luna's voice was calm but laced with authority. "If you release even an ounce of energy again, I won't let you take the exam. Am I clear?"

The room seemed to freeze. Noah's bravado crumbled under Luna's icy stare, and he quickly averted his gaze. "I-I'm sorry. It won't happen again."

For the rest of the trip, Noah stayed silent, sulking in his seat. Ren exchanged a glance with Luna, who gave him the faintest nod before closing her eyes to rest.

Finally, after hours of travel, the towering walls of the Royal Capital came into view. It was finally time for this month's training to come to fruition, Ren would only accept first place and nothing else. He would destroy everyone opposing him.
