Legendary Traveler: By Earning Progress Points I will Become Supreme!

Chapter 228: Not Your Average Monster Tide (4)

Centimeter by centimeter, a layer of Ice encapsulated Aoni's finger, from the first to the middle knuckle, before stopping its creeping and expanding in diameter.

Slowly opening his eyes, the Lad was astounded when he realized there was no floating projectile and instead a piece of Ice weighing down his digit, yet it didn't deter him in any way.

If anything, it spurred him onward with renewed vigor because this little change had brought a whole new wave of ideas to mind.

"This is amazing…" he grumbled before noticing the Attribute Notice had butted in to rain on his parade.

| What the Host has done can't be considered "Amazing" or groundbreaking; in fact, it is merely the first stage of Energia Manifestation that most, if not all, beginners achieve |

'Aba ah um, huh?'

| … |

'Don't dot at me, explain yourself, if this is the beginner phase, then what the hell have I been doing all this time? Wait, could it be I'm a once-in-10-generation genius with Magic?'

| … no…not even remotely close |

'Ah…so this is what disappointment feels like; I never thought it would hurt so much.' Staring at the finger cap of Ice, Aoni clutched his chest mockingly before glaring at his AN, expecting real answers.

| Everything the Host has done so far is an extension of being "born" in an extremely Energia-rich environment. From the moment they stepped foot in Genovia, aka Born Anew, they have been bathed, strengthened, and enhanced by copious amounts of naturally occurring Energia in such a way that it could be considered that the Host has developed a Physique for it |

| As time goes on, and the Host stays in this Environment, their results will grow. That aside, it is because of this "closeness" with Energia that they are able to freely wield and manipulate Ambient Energia, something that only extremely in tune or powerful beings are capable of executing |

'A physique, that's new, so like, am I even still human? Or did I become a Plasma Monster or something?'

| …the Host is a Traveler; the moment they experienced the Awakening and stepped into the Flume, they were no longer considered a Human Being, but instead something more |

'Damn, so im not a crazy monster beast person, tsk, oh well, better luck next time.' Honestly, Aoni was playing around and not being serious, but that was more of a defense mechanism than anything.

He was currently facing a daunting task that had his anxiety and nerves on overload, so this little bit of banter between himself and the chat box was merely a means to calm down.

Especially since he felt the need to put on a brave front for his summons…even if they could feel something was wrong with him through the LoS.

'Will the same method I normally use work, I mean, the way I mold attacks and execute them?'

| Yes, however, it will consume a massive amount of the Host's Innate Energia, much like what occurs when activating Nodes. Consider it a 1:10 ratio |

| If the Host wishes to launch a projectile accurately and eliminate the targeted monster, it will consume nearly all of their Available energy |

'Shit, so what you're saying is make the shot count, gotcha, that seems easy enough.'

That was, in fact, NOT what the AN was saying; if anything, it was a subtle warning for Aoni NOT to do what he was thinking; however, it had been proven time and time again that he would pick and choose what answers he deemed usable.

Either way, Aoni was gonna do what he wanted to do, even if advised not to, and so, he continued charging until the Ice on his finger was thick enough that his index was resting on top of his middle finger.

{'Give me a call out, Nyria,'}

{'Okay brother, one moment…'} Still circling high above, Nyria's eyes narrowed slightly as she angled her body toward the lead hobby and got the correct heading for her Lord to attack with.

{'203 degrees South by SouthWest, 32 feet below your position, standing still.'}

{'203 SSW, 32 feet got it, firing in 3..2..1..'}

Fwtt

Unlike any other time Aoni launched an ice bullet; this time, it was borderline silent, almost like a suppressed rifle, as the Ice covering his finger damn near teleported away at a speed far too fast for him to see.

There were no flashy sounds, no crazy damage; hell, if he didn't know any better, Aoni could have sworn the attack had fizzled out…that is, until he got the notification.

| 2 pp Earned |

{'Um…brother…'} The only one who could see the bullet speeding by, albeit barely, was Nyria, and after the lead hobby's head popped like a grape, the bullet didn't stop…it kept going…and going…before vanishing completely from her sight.

Meanwhile, Aoni, who was about to celebrate, was suddenly inundated by notifications.

| 1 pp Earned | | 2 pp Earned |

| 4 pp Earned | | 1 pp Earned |

| 2 pp Earned | | 3 pp Earned |

| 1 pp Earned | | 1 pp Earned |

| 3 pp Earned | | 5 pp Earned |

"…double kill, triple kill, quadra kill, pentakill, overkill, killtacular, KILLTROCITY, KILLIMANJARO, KILLTASTROPHE, KILLPOCALYPSE, KILLIONAIRRREE!!" Jaw dropped and muttering killstreaks like a gamer, Aoni's eyebrows shot up as he noticed the presence of 4, 3, and, surprisingly, five progress point gains came through.

Unfortunately, right as he was about to jump up and cheer, Aoni noticed his legs seemed a bit wobbly, and his vision spun.

"Ohhh no… ohh nooo, don't pass out, you..re…okay, fruit, I neeed fruit,' Shaking his head rapidly to try and clear his mind, Aoni struggled to open his inventory but on the third try succeeded and began hungrily devouring one fruit after another until the dizziness ebbed away.

But even if that was the case, once the feeling that he was about to faint passed, a splitting headache took its place instead.

"The hell just happened…" he groaned while sitting down in the tree with his back against its trunk and legs resting on the branch.

| The Host got lucky; that's what happened. The attack they conjured caught several high-level monsters off guard and wreaked havoc beyond their Territory, silently eliminating several unsuspecting beings |
