Chapter 47: Prodigal Daughter
"Okay, Lefah and thank you so much." [Miss Madison smiles at them]
[Miss Madison sits down on the living room couch]
"Um, what should we give you as our visitor, Miss Madison? Maybe something sweet or water. Like anything, Miss Principal."
Miss Madison smiled and said, "Hey, don't worry, I am good, guys."
Garriso smiled and said, "Uh, are you sure you got this? Miss Madison."
"Yeah, am good. Trust me. And hey, where is your mother? I mean Miss Anna. Where's she?"
"Miss Anna is out to see Miss Sophia, an auntie."
"Oh, okay. Actually, I was just feeling pressure at home, so I decided to pass by and say hi to this my new family and discuss one or two things with Miss Anna."
"Whoo, don't tell me you guys became friends the last time you ladies met."
"Hey, is there any problem with Miss Madison being friends with our mother?"
"That's not what I mean, Garriso. And I am just saying it bro. Because I didn't know our mother and our only sweet and supportive principal is a friend to our mother already."
"Yeah, you know, I have liked your mother from the first time I had a little talk concerning you guys joining the high school football team days ago. Yeah, I like Miss Anna a lot."
"Wow. That's great. And thank you for loving our mother. Miss Madison."
"Hey, this is nothing, boys. Your mother is a good person, that's why I love her. Hey, I got this."
Garriso snickered and said, "Hey, I think you should let Miss Madison be and stop asking questions' bro. She really got this, bro."
"Yeah, that's what I am doing now, Garriso."
[Both laugh]
"So, what are you doing alone in this apartment, kids?"
"Nothing like playing a football game in our bedroom, Miss Madison."
Miss Madison smiled at Garriso and said, "Doing nothing like playing football games in your bedroom is really something which keeps boys like you busy at home. Your mother knows the best."
"Okay and all parents are the same. I can see, Miss Madison."
"Yeah, you know, when I was a little girl. I used to play football games with my elder brothers anytime mommy is not home, and it really keeps us busy home and more fun."
[Both laugh]
"Wow, that's great Miss Madison."
[Miss Madison stands up from the living room sofa] "Hey boys, I really miss those days. Hey, let's go and play a football game to have more fun."
[Both] "Huh?"
Lefah ran immediately to Miss Madison and said," Whoo. Please don't try to do anything which will make you feel uncomfortable after getting into our bedroom, Miss Madison."
[Garriso snickers and covers his mouth]
"Hey, what do you mean, and I hope it's not what I'm thinking, right?"
"And what are you thinking, Miss Madison? I definitely know you will be thinking about a girlfriend. Please, there's no girlfriend in our room. But you know, the room is messy."
"And what will make you think, I'm thinking such. Hey, I really trust you boys and I don't think Miss Anna will even allow you boys to bring a woman home."
"Oh, I see, I didn't know you knew our mother that much. "
"I really do know how crazy Miss Anna is, and I wish I was a crazy mother just like her."
Garriso snickers and asks, "Why, Miss Madison, and besides, we never like how Miss Anna is."
"Uh, I just wish I was a crazy mother just to control my prodigal daughter in the house. Nothing else."
"Oh, I see. I even forgot to ask about her. Is she fine?"
[Miss Madison sighs] "How is she? Just smoking, drinking and always having fun with her bad friends, I never like her to walk with them."
"Like demn! Smoking and drinking, like how Miss Madison?"
"Hey, Lefah, you heard me right. So, why are you asking questions, my dear?"
"Hey, I'm sorry Miss Madison. Just a little bit surprised about this, Miss Madison."
[Garriso sighs] "Um, please Miss Madison, have you tried talking to her father about your daughter's bad life?"
"And what will make you think my daughter's father will do something about it? My marriage is very weak because of this very issue. My husband always gets angry anytime I talk about that little girl."
"Maybe your husband will advise her or something, Miss Madison."
Miss Madison laughed at her sad story and said, "Hey, what do you think will happen when a blind man is helping a blind man to jump over a deep hole?"
"Hmm, you know, it's going to be a crazy fall into the hole, Miss Madison. "
Lefah didn't understand what Miss Madison said, so Lefah smiled and said, "What do you mean, Miss Madison?"
"Hey, kid, I mean nothing like the father and his daughter are blind."
"Hell no, but you never told us both of them had an eye problem, Miss Madison."
Garriso snickered and said, "Hey little boy, will you shut up? That's not what she means, Lefah."
Miss Madison smiled at Lefah and said, "Hey, I mean. My husband and her daughter are the same but don't have an eye problem."
"Oh, okay, Miss Madison. I understand. Um, yeah."
"Uh, don't worry Miss Madison. She will change, I promise."
"Yeah, I know because a lot of friends have been talking to her for years now, and I know she will change. Yeah, just hoping, Garriso."
"Yes, Garriso is right, and I also believe she will surely change Miss Madison."
[Miss Madison sighs]" Aw, thanks for your words, my sweet boys."
"Um, okay. So, why don't we talk about something different and important, guys?"
"Yeah, and what do you really want us to talk about, Miss Madison?"
"Don't really know boys. Maybe the kind of vibes and more fun."
[Both] "Oh, okay."
"Okay, so tell me, how is your football training going so far?"
"Superb, Miss Madison." [Garriso smiles]
"Yes, I know it will surely be a superb improvement because I really trust my big boys right here. And you know, Mr. Wilson told me how fast you guys are improving at your football camp, and he can't wait to have you guys' names in his first lineup for the up-coming season leagues."
