Legacy of Harry Potter

Chapter 3: Meeting the Peverell Brothers (2)

June 1994

4 Privet Drive

Seeing the look on Harry's face and understanding what he was thinking the three brothers rolled their eyes.

Antioch chuckled, "We are not surprised at you producing a Patronus, well technically not."

Harry questioned, "Then why?"

"Conjuring a Patronus at your age is definitely something great, many able wizards are unable to do so in their lifetime but for people like us, that is not something very difficult. After all you were chosen our magical heir deemed worthy by magic itself."

Ignotus took over, "Magic for wizard is an essential and fundamental part of any wizard's life. When we arrived or say awakened in your mindscape, we were honestly surprised. Because of the binding and the drain that blood ward is putting on your magic reserves, you being alive is miraculous and that too when you are what 14 or 15 years?"

Harry nodded, "I would be 14 in a month."

Ignotus nodded and continued, "So as I told you being alive was a miracle for us. We considered that even if you are alive, you would be nothing more than a squib and that too much weak physically but then you tell us that you can produce a full-fledged Patronus."

Harry nodded in understanding. "Now what happens?" Questioned Harry.

"We have many things to discuss before you gain our inheritance. But you need to remove that binding from you. When we will assimilate our knowledge into you that binding may come as a hindrance and you would need every drop of magic you have."

Harry nodded, "So you three can remove the binding?"

At this remark, the three brothers turned sheepish and smiled.

Ignotus coughed awkwardly, "You see when we were alive, we could have done it easily but now we don't have any actual power. We are just representation of our knowledge and experiences. So we cannot help you."

"You can go to the goblins, if they are still alive and if you have money," added Cadmus.

Harry replied, "They are alive and I do have a trust account. So I think I could get it done."

"Just ask them to get your bindings removed. Do not perform any kind of inheritance test for now," instructed Cadmus.

Though Harry did not understand what that actually meant he agreed, "Okay. I will only get the binding removed."

The three brothers nodded.

Harry questioned, "What was the second unique condition you mentioned?"

At this the three men turned serious. Antioch replied, "We will talk that after you get your magical binding removed."

Harry nodded and asked the question he had in his mind for a long time, "you told me this is my mindscape. What does that exactly mean? And how was I able to gain your magical heirship?"

Cadmus answered, "I think this also can be discussed after you remove your binding. Also try to find if you have anything over us left in your history. You know describing your own greatness feels embarrassing. You would need the story to understand why were you chosen."

Harry rolled his eyes and nodded, "I will try and see if I can find anything about you."

"Now how do I leave this place?" asked Harry.

"Just will and try to break your concentration. Also do not get the blood ward removed as it would immediately notify the person whoever placed that on you. We will tell you a method to fool that person later." added Antioch.

With this Harry faded away from his mindscape and was back in his rooms.

As soon as he was back in his room, rage took over his face. Dumbledore. There was no other person who would have placed the binding on him and how foolish of him to trust the nonsense of the blood wards. He was going to make that old git pay.

For the first eleven years of his life he was beaten and starved. Thanks to that old cot leaving him here. Then the last three years at Hogwarts his life had been in constant danger and that old man had done nothing to help him.

After raging internally he took control over his emotions and calmed himself down. He had to go to Gringotts to get his binding removed.

And that was a problem in itself. He was certain that he would not be getting any help from his aunt and uncle to use any muggle means and neither did he any magical means to go there.

After contemplating for a moment he had an idea and wondered that if it would work.

He whispered, "Dobby."

Immediately with a pop a bouncing and excited elf stood in front of him.

"The great Harry Potter sir called for Dobby," squealed Dobby in happiness.

Harry took a breath, "Dobby I was wondering if you could help me with something?"

Dobby again squealed, "It would be Dobby's pleasure to help the great Harry Potter sir."

Harry nodded, "Do you have any way to transport me to Gringotts?" He added "unnoticed" at the last moment.

"Dobby bes able to take the great Harry potter sir." Dobby bounced in happiness.

Harry smiled wildly, "Wonderful."

He added, "Let me get dressed and can you please call me just Harry or Harry Potter."

Dobby replied immediately, "How can I call the great Harry Potter sir by his name?"

Harry sighed but let the issue slide for future. He went over his second-hand wardrobe and finally found a sweatshirt. And like all his other clothes it was Dudley's rejected and too big for him. He was not wearing this for any fashion statement but that sweatshirt easily hide his face. He did not wanted to appear in the Diagon Alley attracting too much attention.

He was ready in seconds, "Dobby I am ready."

Dobby came near Harry and held his hand, "No one can pop directly inside Gringotts if not authorised by the goblins, so Dobby can pop the great Harry Potter sir only at the gate of Gringotts."

Harry nodded in agreement and with a pop both of them were gone.
