Konoha's Tatsuya

Chapter 1: Chapter 1: Konoha Genin

Land of Fire.

Konohagakure, within the Akimichi clan compound.

A figure wrapped in bandages lay quietly in a bedroom, gazing through the window at the distant Hokage Rock. The Hokage Rock was a symbol of Konoha; from its summit, one could overlook the entire village.

There, the faces of Konoha's First Hokage, Hashirama Senju, the Second Hokage, Tobirama Senju, and the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, were clearly visible in the distance.

The figure's name was Tatsuya Akimichi. Fourteen years old, he was a member of Konoha's Akimichi clan. His parents had died in the Second Shinobi World War, leaving him as the sole remaining member of his immediate family.

A textbook protagonist setup!

Staring at the Hokage Rock, Tatsuya felt a sense of unreality. He never would have imagined that he, a washed-up, middle-aged guy from the 21st century, would somehow transmigrate into the world of Naruto.

Honestly, watching the anime in his original world had been exciting. He'd even had some cringey, middle-school fantasies about what he'd do if he ever got transported to the Naruto world.

But when he actually did transmigrate, and woke up severely injured, the reality was far less appealing.

This was a brutal world where death could come at any moment!

A world where even the "villains" were so enlightened they wanted to save the world, and where a single jutsu could obliterate an entire village!

Who knew, maybe one day a random ninjutsu would rain down from the sky, and that would be the end of him!

The thought of facing such a future filled Tatsuya with a profound sense of unease.

Empty talk and wild fantasies were one thing, everyone could do that, but actually doing something was a completely different story.

Thankfully, Tatsuya hadn't been an only child in his previous life. He was older, unmarried, and his bank account was nothing to write home about. He didn't have much to regret leaving behind, and he'd even gained a younger body in the process.

The only thing that really tugged at his heart was the fact that he wouldn't be able to care for his aging parents.

He could only hope his old man still had it in him to produce another bouncing baby boy to ease their sorrow!

And in this world, the original owner of his body was also the classic protagonist type: an orphan who'd lost his parents at a young age.

This, at least, made things easier for Tatsuya. He could take his time adapting to this new life without any family to worry about.

In Konoha, Tatsuya, as a member of the Akimichi clan, was considered part of a prestigious family.

Although he was just a member of a minor branch family, it was still better than being a completely unsupported commoner.

The Akimichi clan was one of Konoha's secret jutsu clans, a founding family that had joined Konohagakure from the very beginning.

Akimichi clan members were typically large, possessing the special ability to convert fat into large amounts of chakra. Their hereditary techniques, passed down through generations – like the Human Bullet Tank, Spiked Human Bullet Tank, Partial Multi-Size Technique, and Super Multi-Size Technique – possessed incredible destructive power.

Moreover, the Akimichi clan possessed a secret formula for a type of three-colored pill that could significantly enhance chakra in stages, greatly boosting the power of Akimichi ninjas.

In terms of pure physical destructive power, aside from the Eight Gates, the Akimichi clan could be considered the strongest among all the clans in Konohagakure.

With this status, even as a war orphan, Tatsuya could live comfortably on the relief funds provided by the village and the clan.

After more than ten days of integrating and sorting through his memories, Tatsuya had fully accepted the fact that he had transmigrated. He also had a basic understanding of his current situation.

According to the memories left behind by the original owner of his body, Tatsuya was now a "high-age" genin of Konoha, and had briefly been a classmate of Kakashi Hatake at the Ninja Academy.

However, Kakashi, the renowned genius of Konoha, had graduated from the Ninja Academy at the age of five. Tatsuya, on the other hand, had only been allowed to graduate early as cannon fodder after the outbreak of the Third Shinobi World War.

His talent was basically at the bottom of the barrel in Konoha's Ninja Academy. Forget comparing him to a genius like Kakashi; even many students from commoner backgrounds were stronger than Tatsuya.

If it weren't for his Akimichi clan background, Tatsuya suspected he might have been rejected by the Ninja Academy altogether.

Currently, the Third Shinobi World War was in full swing.

Compared to the previous two Shinobi World Wars, the Third was larger in scale and longer in duration.

During the war, Konoha had faced off against four other villages simultaneously, making it far more brutal than the previous two conflicts.

The prolonged Shinobi World War had caused all the ninja villages to lose a significant number of elite ninja. Faced with attacks from four villages, Konoha's leadership had no choice but to allow more Ninja Academy students to graduate early and be deployed to the battlefield.

Tatsuya was one of them, a glorious Konoha genin.

In his previous life, anyone who had watched Naruto knew that the universally acknowledged ceiling of combat power was the Konoha genin.

Like Might Duy, Naruto Uzumaki, and Sasuke Uchiha. The former single-handedly beat the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist into the "Auspicious Three Treasures," while the latter two, in the later stages of the story, saw their power levels skyrocket, joining forces to successfully seal the ultimate BOSS, Kaguya Otsutsuki.

But unfortunately, Tatsuya was not one of them. He was a true Konoha genin, in every sense of the word.

Two weeks ago, Tatsuya had been withdrawn to Konoha after being injured on the battlefield by a Cloud Village chunin.

Tatsuya's injuries were extremely severe. If it weren't for the fact that this world had a somewhat skewed technological tree, where medical ninjutsu was surprisingly advanced, he would have lost his life.

Having understood the basic situation, Tatsuya had to start considering his future.

In the world of Naruto, strength was everything.

The source of strength, apart from a few exceptions like the mighty Guy, was mostly based on talent and bloodline.

To put it bluntly, the closer your bloodline was to the Sage of Six Paths, the nobler your lineage, and the stronger you were.

Like Naruto and Sasuke...

In Konoha, the Sharingan of the Uchiha clan and the Byakugan of the Hyuga clan were prime examples of noble bloodlines.

With the help of their kekkei genkai, the Sharingan and Byakugan, members of these two clans often achieved great things, and both clans boasted a large number of powerful ninja.

After the Senju clan had fully integrated into Konoha, the Uchiha and Hyuga clans became Konoha's top noble clans.

Logically, the Akimichi clan should also be considered a prestigious family in Konoha. However, combining his previous life's knowledge with the original owner's memories, Tatsuya discovered that the clan was relatively low-key in the village.

Apart from a few individuals who had shown exceptional performance, the rest of the clan members were generally unassuming. The title of "genius ninja" rarely fell upon members of the Akimichi clan.

And someone with talent as poor as Tatsuya's was basically ignored within the clan, unable to receive focused training and resources.

If he wanted to survive and thrive in the world of Naruto, relying solely on the Akimichi clan as his backing wouldn't get him far.

Furthermore, up to this point, Tatsuya had not discovered any signs of exceptional talent within himself.

To summarize, he was completely ordinary.

For such a character to survive in the world of Naruto, where overpowered characters were a dime a dozen, the road ahead was filled with obstacles!
