Konoha: Reforge the glory of Uchiha!

Chapter 6: chapter-6

Uchiha Guard

In the room, Uchiha Nan observed the Uchiha clan members, who were visibly angry, and a satisfied smile appeared on his face.

"Quiet," Uchiha Nan commanded, waving his hand, and the Uchiha present quickly fell silent.

The Uchiha members stared at Uchiha Nan, knowing he had been the first to receive the news and had summoned them promptly. They were resolute in their refusal to accept Sarutobi Hiruzen as the Third Hokage of Konoha.

Uchiha Nan addressed the group:

"Konoha Village was founded by Uchiha and Senju together. The First Hokage had unparalleled combat power and could dominate the ninja world with one hand!

"The Second Hokage possessed great wisdom and could easily master various forbidden techniques.

"These two deserved to be the Hokage of Konoha."

Uchiha Nan sneered as he continued, "But what is Sarutobi Hiruzen?"

"He was tasked with protecting Lord Tobirama, yet he abandoned the Hokage and fled back to Konoha like a stray dog.

"He returned with Lord Tobirama's last will and shamelessly wants to become the Third Hokage of Konoha."

"Do you agree with this ridiculous idea?"

"No!" the Uchiha members shouted in unison, seeing it as a disgrace for someone like Hiruzen to become Kage.

"Very good, I don't agree either," Uchiha Nan nodded. The original plot of Hokage in his previous life was arranged in such a way that seemed crazy, and now it seemed even more absurd.

In this real world of Naruto, only someone like Uzumaki Mito could stand against all odds, using her strength and reputation to force the Konoha families to accept the situation.

It was ironic that Uzumaki Mito didn't choose her son for Hokage, instead opting for Sarutobi Hiruzen. Her inability to judge character led to the downfall of the Senju and Uzumaki clans, and even the Uchiha clan faced extinction.

Did she ever wake in the night, fearing the spirits of her fallen clan members seeking revenge?

"Tiehuo, take your team and spread the word in your area that the Shadow Guard abandoned the Hokage and fled."

"Inahori, take your team and spread that the Shadow Guard colluded with the Raikage to kill the Hokage."

Uchiha Nan issued a series of instructions, blending truth and lies to stir the public narrative.

The Uchiha present were stunned by Nan's strategy. This would put the Shadow Guards who escaped under severe scrutiny. Sarutobi Hiruzen's chance at Hokage might vanish, and even his life could be at risk.

"Captain, this is brilliant!" Inahori blurted out without thinking, then regretted it immediately, fearing Uchiha Nan's reaction.

"No, Captain, I didn't mean it that way. I meant to praise your wit!" Inahori quickly corrected himself.

Uchiha Nan felt a twinge of annoyance. Inahori's comments, though unintended, questioned his methods.

This is called strategy, Inahori. Do you understand what a public opinion offensive is?

Uchiha Nan gave Inahori a standard smile that sent chills down his spine. "I understand what you mean. After you finish your work, come see me. I'll test your recent practice."

"No, Captain, I was wrong!" Inahori pleaded, looking to his brother Tiehuo for rescue.

Tiehuo, seeing his brother's predicament, stepped aside. He knew better than to get involved when Inahori had put his foot in his mouth again.

"Inahori, shut up. Go execute the order, and come see me when you're done."

"Don't let me find you slacking," Uchiha Nan said sternly, waving him away to execute the orders.

The rest left the room promptly to carry out Uchiha Nan's instructions.

Soon, the Uchiha guards were active throughout Konoha, spreading the news. Each busy street corner had a store owned by the Uchiha family, and the surrounding land was often theirs.

Supporting such a large clan required significant resources. While food, clothing, and shelter were manageable, the costs of ninja tools, ninjutsu training, and secret medicines were not.

D-rank missions, paying between 500 to 1,000 ryo, were typically low-danger tasks handled by Genin. C-rank missions offered more pay, ranging from 2,000 to 10,000 ryo, but with greater danger, like bandit suppression. B-rank missions involved more risk and required Chunin or higher, with bounties from 50,000 to 150,000 ryo. A-rank missions, often war-related, demanded fighting strong opponents with bounties between 150,000 to 1 million ryo.

Ordinary ninjas mostly accessed B-rank missions, completed in teams, with varying completion times from days to months. A typical ninja earned about 40,000 to 50,000 ryo monthly.

With kunai costing 2,000 ryo, shuriken 2,500 ryo, and explosive tags 5,000 ryo, funds for training were tight. Families often subsidized these costs.

The Uchiha played a pivotal role in Konoha, which had fewer than one-third civilian ninjas, with clans forming the backbone.

As the Uchiha guards spread the news, the story of Senju Tobirama's death circulated throughout Konoha. Rumors painted the Shadow Guards as abandoning the Hokage, with versions of the story evolving over time.

Decades later, the most popular version claimed Senju Tobirama and Sarutobi Hiruzen had a forbidden love, with Hiruzen's betrayal leading Tobirama to risk his life to protect him.
