Konoha, Just Like Kizaru

Chapter 8: 008 Girls are horrible creatures

After finally sending Might Dai away, Simu thought he could finally get some rest. But then, Namikaze Minato approached.

"Might Dai is full of energy, and you're like the complete opposite,"

Minato said with a smile, watching Might Dai walk away.

Simu waved his hand lazily, not bothered at all.

"It doesn't matter how energetic someone is"

"The ninja world is too scary. I just want to make some money, come back to Konoha, and live a peaceful life."

Minato, hands in his pockets and a soft smile on his face, chuckled.

"That sounds exactly like something you'd say."

He glanced toward the podium, noticing many students already spotting their names on the list.

Might Dai was loudly complaining about not being able to team up with Simu.

Simu's face darkened.

"That guy acts like one of those clingy women," Simu muttered, feeling a chill.

Minato burst out laughing.

"Still, aren't you curious about who your teammates will be?" he asked more seriously.

After all, reliable teammates and a strong leader were crucial for rookies like them to survive the battlefield.

Simu shook his head casually.

"It doesn't matter,"

In the past, he might have been worried, but after obtaining the Light Fruit last night, he felt confident enough to face any danger.

Worst case, he could just abandon his teammates and escape if things went south.

But he figured the Third Hokage wouldn't send them on anything too dangerous right from the start.

With the Marine Six Styles and the Light Fruit at his sleeve, Simu felt confident his safety was guaranteed.

"You're always so relaxed," Minato commented.

Before Simu could respond, Kushina came rushing over, slamming both hands down on the table with such force that it nearly flipped over!

"Minato! Simu!" Kushina shouted,

"We're teammates!"

Minato, caught off guard by Kushina's fiery energy, was speechless for a moment.

He finally stammered, "Y-Yeah... Really? That's great."

Kushina's eyes narrowed dangerously as she glared at him. "What's that supposed to mean? Are you not happy about being on my team?"

"No, no... not at all!" Minato quickly denied, trying to calm Kushina down.

Simu, watching from the side, raised an eyebrow.

He hadn't expected to be grouped with Minato and Kushina—one was the Nine Tails Jinchūriki, and the other would eventually become the Fourth Hokage.

He sighed softly.

'Guess I'll keep taking it easy,' he thought.

But with these two, at least there's a bit more safety in the mix.

After all, as a Jinchūriki, Kushina would likely have Anbu escorts during missions.

And with Minato around, Simu figured he'd just deal with minor threats, doing the least amount possible.

To change the subject, Minato quickly asked, "Kushina, do you know who our Jōnin leader is?"

Hearing this, Kushina finally let Minato off the hook and relaxed a bit.

Kushina snorted and said, "It's Jiraiya."

"Master Jiraiya?" Minato's eyes lit up.

Ever since the Second Ninja World War, the names of the Konoha Sannin—Jiraiya, Orochimaru, and Tsunade—had become legendary.

They were idols to countless students, and Minato was no exception.

So Minato was very excited to hear that Jiraiya would be their Jōnin mentor.

Not only Minato, but also other students around showed expressions of envy and hatred.

Being Jiraiya's student meant being a legacy disciple of the Third Hokage—who knows, maybe Hokage someday!

But while everyone else was excited, Kushina seemed a bit conflicted.

"What's wrong? Isn't it great that Jiraiya-sama is our teacher?" Minato asked, confused.

It seemed like something everyone would dream of.

Kushina hesitated, then whispered, "I heard that Jiraiya-sama usually sneaks into the women's bathhouse to peek at women while they're bathing."

"Cough cough cough!!"

Minato quickly interrupted Kushina.

"Don't say such things!"

Kushina pouted, looking a bit annoyed.

Simu couldn't help but grin widely.

It seemed Jiraiya's reputation for being a perv had already spread.

After a while, Minato glanced at the time.

"It's almost time. Should we gather?"

Simu had no problem with that. He followed the two slowly, his hands resting on his pillow.

"Simu, you look so lazy. No girl will like you," Kushina said, teasing him.

Simu glanced at her over his dark glasses.

"Girls are horrible creatures."

Kushina immediately got angry and punched Simu with a frown.

"What did you say?!"

Fortunately, Simu was ready and used [Shave] to dodge in an instant.

"I just said, girls are scary."

"Stop!"

Minato sighed, patting his forehead.

"These two are really..."
