Chapter 29: 029 Kushina And Hyuga Lindy
"Simu, what was that noise just now?" Kushina asked, pointing toward the Forest of Death. They had heard a huge explosion on their way over.
"Oh, that was just Minato testing out his new technique. It's terrifying," Simu replied casually.
Kushina, of course, didn't believe a word of it. She knew Simu would probably think even a farmer with a hoe looked terrifying.
Lindy quietly extended the lunchbox with both hands.
"Mr. Simu, I made this just for you—your favorite teriyaki chicken rice," Lindy said, smiling shyly.
Simu raised an eyebrow, a big grin spreading across his face. "Thank you, Lindy."
Blushing, Lindy pinched the corner of her clothes and said, "You're welcome!" Though her clothes seemed a bit tight, unable to keep up with her rapidly growing figure.
Just as Simu was about to comment, Kushina caught him staring. "What are you looking at, you idiot!" she yelled, landing a punch that sent Simu flying with her monstrous strength.
"I'm going to dig out your eyeballs!" Kushina snapped, grabbing Lindy's hand. "This damn pervert! You're way too nice to him."
Lindy's face turned bright red. As she developed, she grew more self-conscious about the way people looked at her.
But if it was Simu-kun... Her thoughts made her blush even more as she lowered her head.
Meanwhile, Simu had already reverted back to his human form and was casually enjoying a mouthful of rice.
"Ahem, this meal is really delicious," Simu said, trying to change the subject.
"Good, keep eating," Kushina replied, though her attention shifted. She glanced at herself, then at Lindy, sighing softly.
Why is it that we're both girls, but I haven't grown at all?
Turning to Lindy, she asked, "Lindy, want to stay at my house tonight?"
Lindy blushed slightly but nodded. "Okay... sure."
Over the past year, Lindy and Kushina had grown to be best friends. With both of Lindy's parents lost in the Second Ninja World War, there wasn't really anyone looking out for her.
Except, of course, for the risk of someone capturing her to exploit her unique abilities.
Kushina glanced at Simu, who was shoveling food into his mouth.
She couldn't help but wonder what was going on in his head.
Soon, night fell.
Kushina owns a house.
Being the Nine Tails Jinchūriki, Konoha had provided Kushina with a home when they brought her from the Uzumaki clan.
Kushina relaxed in the hot spring pool, letting out a satisfied sigh.
She playfully splashed the water and called out, "Come on, Lindy! What are you waiting for?"
"Th-that's a bit embarrassing," Lindy said, hesitating by the pool, wrapped in a white bath towel.
Though she and Kushina were close, she'd never shared a bath with anyone before and felt a bit shy.
"Oh, don't worry about it!" Kushina grinned and, without hesitation, rushed over and pulled Lindy into the water.
The two splashed around playfully in the pool for a while. Amid the steam, Kushina glanced at Lindy's well-developed figure, her tone turning a bit envious.
"Lindy, do you think boys prefer... bigger ones?" she asked, sounding a little sour.
Lindy's face turned bright red as she quickly covered herself.
"I-I don't think so..."
Kushina, grinning mischievously, wrapped her arms around Lindy's soft waist and held on tightly.
"I told you, Simu's perverted eyes have been on you the whole time!"
Kushina teased, causing Lindy's face to turn an even deeper shade of red, leaving her speechless.
"As long as you eat more Kushina, there should be some too, right?" Kushina's face darkened upon hearing this.
She had already considered that idea and even tried eating more for a month.
But all it did was make her belly bigger, not exactly the result she was hoping for!
"Comparing myself to others is just frustrating!"
Kushina grumbled, lying back in the pool, letting the warm water soothe her irritation.
After a long pause, Lindy hesitantly asked, "Kushina, do you like Simu-kun?"
Kushina's face briefly showed a hint of embarrassment before she quickly retorted, her voice sharp:
"How is it possible, that guy Simu is not good-looking, he is salty, and he looks like he has no motivation to do anything. How can I like him?"
Lindy looked at Kushina who suddenly got excited, but didn't speak.
Kushina swam to Lindy and looked at Lindy with a dangerous look.
"And you, you like that Simu guy, don't you?"
Lindy paused for a moment before replying:
"I think Mr. Simu is nice, but I... "
"I don't feel good enough for him."
Lindy looked up quickly, her face brightening with a sincere smile.
"But it doesn't matter. As long as I can bring him meals every day, I'll be very happy. He enjoys my cooking!"
Kushina let out a deep sigh, realizing how much Lindy cared.
"Silly girl, that guy Simu isn't good enough for you."
"No, Mr. Simu is actually quite nice."
Hyuga Lindy, the introverted girl, always seemed a bit stubborn about her feelings for Simu.
Kushina looked up at the twinkling stars in the sky. Sometimes, she envied Lindy. Despite her timidity, Lindy showed surprising boldness in certain matters.
"Stop talking and get ready quickly. We don't want to catch a cold."
"Okay."
As Kushina and Lindy finished their supper, they suddenly heard a strange noise coming from outside the yard.
