Chapter 22: 022 Underground Bounty Exchange
Wujinmaru wasn't just some nobody.
As an A-rank wanted criminal from Kirigakure, he had a notorious record, even killing a Kirigakure Jōnin by himself.
It may not have been in a direct fight, but on the battlefield, those details don't matter.
People only care about survival—life or death.
Simu's talent is powerful enough to make Jiraiya click his tongue.
But he still didn't expect Simu to be able to kill Wujinmaru by himself.
More importantly, looking at the way he put his hands in his pockets, it doesn't look like he has gone through a fierce battle?
"He's really an incredible treasure," Jiraiya muttered to himself.
Instead of revealing himself, Jiraiya continued to watch Simu's actions.
Simu glanced away from Wujinmaru, his eyes landing on a tree hollow not far away.
With all the noise from the battle, the people inside the gold exchange had surely noticed the intrusion.
As expected, just as Simu approached the entrance, three ninjas emerged from the cave.
They looked at Simu, seeing Wujinmaru's body lying motionless at his feet.
"Wujinmaru... actually..."
Their faces were filled with disbelief.
After all, Wujinmaru was the strongest underground mercenary in the area, the protector of several bounty exchanges.
Who would've thought he'd be defeated by a kid who looked no older than eleven or twelve?
"Retreat now, it's too dangerous! The three made a quick decision.
If Wujinmaru couldn't handle this kid, they stood no chance.
Too bad Simu won't give them that chance.
A flash of light condensed from in front of them.
"Want to know what it feels like to be kicked at the speed of light?"
Before the mercenary in the middle could react, his two companions had already been kicked away by flashes of light.
"Uh... can I surrender?"
He raised his hands, and when he saw a hint of hesitation on Simu's face, he quickly took off his clothes and threw them at Simu.
The mercenary immediately leaned back, and as he fell from the branch, he pressed his hands to the ground, using the momentum to escape quickly.
"What an idiot".
A sizzling sound came from the discarded clothes—turns out they were covered in explosive tags!
"Boom!"
The massive explosion engulfed Simu completely. No ninja, even one skilled in physical arts, could survive such a blast!
The mercenary smirked.
"Going up against me? You're still too inexperienced."
He felt triumphant, thinking he'd easily outplayed the young kid.
The mercenary turned to search for the bodies of his companions and Wujinmaru, but froze when he saw a flash of light in front of him.
Simu descended from above, his face calmly appearing right before the stunned mercenary.
"As expected of a mercenary, you're really scary,"
Simu said, raising one foot. He added slowly,
"But to make sure you don't hurt me again, may I ask you to die?"
"Boom!"
The mercenary only saw a golden flash, and the next second he flew upside down, saying goodbye to this world completely.
Simu spun 360 degrees and landed smoothly. He brushed the dust off his pants and sighed,
"It's really troublesome. I have to wash my pants again when I go back."
With his hands back in his pockets, he casually walked toward the tree hole.
"Moshi, Moshi, is anyone there?"
He raised his palm like a phone, speaking into it. "If no one answers, I'll open the door myself."
Suddenly, a burst of golden light flashed as he delivered a light-speed kick, shattering the dead tree trunk in front of him.
After the violent tremor, the ground shattered, revealing hidden passages and underground buildings.
A disheveled Mediterranean man crouched behind the counter, trembling with his arms covering his head.
Behind him, various reward posters covered the wall.
Among them is Simu's teacher, Jiraiya, one of Konoha Sannin.
The bounty offered reached 70 million Ryo.
This amount was equivalent to the price of dozens of S-rank missions.
Simu couldn't help but swallow hard, considering when he might trick Jiraiya, capture him, and sell him for money.
"You... you dare to attack the underground bounty exchange?" the Mediterranean man said sternly when he saw Simu standing still.
Simu tilted his head and replied, "What's wrong? Can't I?"
Seeing Simu's inexperienced demeanor, the Mediterranean man warned him:
"The background behind the underground bounty exchange is very deep, you guys who can't handle it, stop quickly."
"It's terrible."
Simu looked terrified, turned around and asked:
"Have any of you taken in children from nearby villages recently?"
The Mediterranean man studied him closely, wondering if the kid had a thing for children.
He forced a smile and said, "Of course."
"These are fresh goods that just arrived. To be honest, we have not only local children but also some from Konoha."
He opened a cage, revealing a little girl with short black hair inside.
The girl looked very delicate, like a budding beauty, and seemed to be around the same age as Simu.
What caught Simu's attention most was her white pupils.
She looked... exactly like Hinata!
