Chapter 10: The So-Called Gentle Fist
"Hey!"
"Ha!"
Under the scorching sun, there is an exclusive training ground reserved only for the main members of the Hyuga clan. A small figure is diligently practicing, swinging her fists and feet to strengthen her body. From time to time, she lets out a powerful shout.
In the center of the training ground, an old man and a young man stood facing each other with their backs straight. Hyuga Hiashi looked at Ryosuke in front of him with an expressionless face. At this moment, Ryosuke had his eyes closed.
After teaching him the general idea of the Gentle Fist technique, Ryosuke stood still with his eyes closed. No one knew what he was doing, but Hiashi didn't think Ryosuke was being lazy. He knew that Ryosuke was not an ordinary child and understood what he should do. So, he didn't disturb him but quietly observed with his Byakugan.
Ryosuke was carefully reviewing every word, every action, and every detail of Hiashi's instructions, as well as the sensation of chakra invading his body, cutting off meridians, and sealing acupoints. His rebirth brought him not only an experience bar but also enhanced memory and cognitive abilities.
His eyes were still tightly closed, but Ryosuke's body began to move as his consciousness cleared. Seeing him start to move, Hiashi took a step back to give him space.
Ryosuke replicated Hiashi's movements perfectly, including the chakra flow method. When chakra attached to his palm, he waved it, creating a strong gust of wind. The chakra shot out but quickly dissipated without a target.
Hiashi watched with a mix of horror and awe. As the head of the Hyuga clan, he knew the difficulty of mastering the Gentle Fist. In the clan's long history, no one had learned it as quickly as Ryosuke. Ryosuke's copyability rivaled the Uchiha clan's Sharingan, which couldn't copy the Hyuga's Gentle Fist.
Before Hiashi's amazement settled, Ryosuke began moving again. The dull sound of sonic booms echoed as Ryosuke attached chakra to his palm, gradually developing his style instead of mimicking Hiashi's. However, due to limited chakra, he could only perform thirty-two of the sixty-four palms.
With only a trace of chakra left, Ryosuke finally stopped and opened his eyes. He was drenched in sweat, and the soil beneath him was wet. Taking a deep breath to calm his overworked internal organs, Ryosuke smiled at the speechless Hiashi and said, "Is this the Gentle Fist method of our Hyuga clan? It is indeed difficult."
Suppressing his amazement, Hiashi replied stiffly, "...This is only your first time using it, which is already amazing."
"Is it your first time..." Ryosuke nodded noncommittally. "Father, I need to refine new chakra and take a rest."
"Okay, then you rest first. I'll go check on Hinata."Hiashi said, seemingly fleeing the scene. As he turned away, his expressionless facade broke down.
Hiashi was genuinely flustered. Ryosuke's progress was astounding. It had taken Hiashi a week to learn the Gentle Fist, while Ryosuke mastered it in a single session.
Ryosuke smiled, having seen through Hyuga Hiashi's inner turmoil. However, he wasn't being modest. He had practiced the Gentle Fist eleven times in his spiritual space before perfectly replicating it in reality.
Practicing the Gentle Fist was not easy. When Ryosuke tried it during Hiashi's test, he understood its complexity. The chakra in Hyuga Hiashi's body repelled Ryosuke's chakra, protecting his body.
The Gentle Fist technique is similar to martial arts in novels, combining external and internal strength. Internal strength is chakra, which flows in a special way, giving it power and penetration. External skills are special force-generating techniques that release dark power, allowing the aggressive chakra to penetrate the enemy's body.
One inside, one outside, complementing each other—this is the essence of the famous Gentle Fist in the ninja world.
Ryosuke felt exhausted after just one session because controlling his body to perform the movements he learned with his spiritual consciousness was mentally and physically taxing. Every movement required strong mental focus to avoid deviation. Integrating personal feelings during application was challenging.
There is a saying that what the brain knows, the body may not. But this didn't apply to Ryosuke, although it was still hard work. This is why, despite mastering the Gentle Fist quickly, Ryosuke insisted it was difficult.
"Clan Leader," a voice called out from outside the training ground.
Ryosuke, sitting cross-legged to refine and restore his chakra, opened his eyes and looked towards the door. A man who looked similar to Hyuga Hiashi but younger stood at the door with a child, raising his hand to signal Hiashi. The child next to him curiously observed Ryosuke.
