"What's good?"

"Nothing, I just think it's funny that I've never had a girlfriend, and you've never had a boyfriend."

Skye looked at Michael and said, "You don't look like someone who's never had a girlfriend. You look more like a playboy."

"Even if I was, I'm nowhere near Stark's level." Michael joked.

...

The sun was shining brightly, with no clouds in the sky.

It felt different to have a beautiful woman by his side, and Michael definitely noticed the envious glances from others. It had to be said, Skye was stunning, with a great figure. Perhaps to satisfy Michael's male pride, she even dressed up a little.

Her appearance was a perfect mix of East and West, thanks to her mixed heritage—her mother being Chinese.

Together, they made a striking pair.

With Skye's knack for finding hidden gems, they often discovered places that were a bit off the beaten path but had excellent food. As they spent more time together, the initial awkwardness between them faded, and they grew increasingly comfortable around each other.

Skye was used to being alone, so she relished the feeling of companionship with Michael—something she hadn't experienced before.

After spending several days together, Michael realized he was growing more and more fond of Skye.

In the beginning, Michael's interest had been more practical—he hoped to use her as a way into S.H.I.E.L.D., and her beauty and figure certainly didn't hurt. But now... it was different. Michael realized he had real feelings for her.

He suspected that Skye felt the same way.

Although they hadn't defined their relationship, there was definitely chemistry between them. They were in that undefined, ambiguous stage.

But as people say, good times always fly by. The car was fixed.

Once the car was ready, Skye had no reason to stay with Michael any longer, and they might have to part ways. Michael began wondering if he should reveal his true identity. Skye was a hacker, involved with the Rising Tide organization. Her background wasn't exactly clean, and she hadn't told him about it, which meant she had her own concerns. Michael also noticed Skye was curious about him, and he was sure she had investigated him.

Yet, Skye never brought it up. She simply pretended not to know.

Michael wanted to figure out whether Skye just wanted to enjoy the time they had together or if she was serious about them. More importantly, Michael knew he had fallen for her and couldn't just let her walk away.

Bang!

Skye pushed open the door and came out of the bedroom, carrying her things.

It was clear she was getting ready to leave.

Michael looked at her. She seemed hesitant and a little reluctant.

"Are you... leaving?" He asked.

"Yeah, the car's fixed, and I can't stay here forever. Besides, I've got other things I need to take care of, so..." Skye trailed off, clearly unsure about leaving.

She couldn't believe how quickly she had fallen for someone in just a few days. But the feelings were undeniable. Parting with Michael so soon didn't sit right with her.

It's hard for a loner to grow attached to someone, but once they do, it's nearly impossible to let go.

"Before you leave, there's something important I need to say. It might sound a little absurd, but I need to be honest." Michael said seriously.

Skye set down her things and walked over to sit next to him.

"What I said before is true—I've never really been in love. Maybe... I seem like a playboy, and I've had thoughts about beautiful women. But those were just fleeting, not real feelings. Spending these past few days with you, though... I've realized I've fallen in love with you. Skye, will you be my girlfriend?" Michael looked at her, his expression sincere.

Skye was surprised by the sudden confession but happy at the same time. She didn't expect that Michael felt the same way. However...

"Michael, I... I like you too, but I'm sorry, I can't be with you because I..." Skye struggled to continue. She was a hacker, one who went against the government and S.H.I.E.L.D. regularly.

Even though she suspected Michael wasn't exactly a normal person, she didn't want to drag him into her world.

Not to mention, she had her own reasons for staying under the radar.

She had provoked S.H.I.E.L.D. on purpose, trying to attract their attention so she could infiltrate the organization and learn more about her past and her parents.

"I know you have your concerns, and so do I. These past few days, I've been debating whether or not to tell you. My identity is... complicated. I'm originally from China, but I've lost a lot of my memory. It's like I came here without knowing who I really was, like a helpless child. That is, until I met you. You gave my life meaning. I know this might sound strange..." Michael began.

"No..."

Skye interrupted. She hadn't expected Michael to share something so personal, and the fact that he had lost his memory surprised her. She could only imagine how lost he must have felt being in a foreign place with no past.

"I don't mind. I don't know what exactly happened to you, but I promise, I'll help you figure it out." Skye said seriously.

"The past is the past. What matters more to me is the future. And I want you to be in that future!" Michael grabbed her hand, looking at her expectantly.

Michael felt a little guilty about the memory-loss story—it wasn't exactly true, but it was the best explanation he could come up with. How else could he explain the truth? That he was a transmigrator? That he was here to become a king? Even if Skye liked him, she wouldn't believe that.

Besides, Michael needed Skye for more than just their relationship. Her hacking skills would be invaluable if he planned to operate independently in the future.

"Actually, I've been keeping something from you too. I'm a hacker—an extremely skilled one. I recently joined a group called the Rising Tide, but because of that, I might bring trouble your way. I don't want to put you in danger." Skye confessed.

Michael smiled, "Don't worry about me. I can handle myself. If anything, I might be the one putting you in danger. After all... S.H.I.E.L.D. already has their eyes on me."

"What? Why?" Skye asked, suddenly alarmed.

"It's because of my special abilities."

"Special abilities?"

"Yeah, you've heard of people with superpowers like the Avengers and the X-Men, right? Well, I have abilities too, though I'm not a mutant. These powers are innate and awakened suddenly. I can absorb energy without any negative effects. I recently absorbed the Extremis virus, and S.H.I.E.L.D. found out. They also noticed that I don't have a legal identity, so..."

"So they don't trust you. Especially with powers like that, they might want to capture you and study you. No, I can't let them take you..." Skye said, panic evident in her voice.

She immediately grabbed her laptop and started typing rapidly.

"What are you doing?" Michael asked, curious.

"I'm wiping your digital trail. That way, S.H.I.E.L.D. won't be able to find you. Then, we need to get out of here fast!" Skye said, her tone urgent.

"Wait, slow down." Michael called out.

"Trust me, I've got this." Skye said, thinking Michael doubted her abilities.
