Kingdom: The Black Moon Assassin

Chapter 101: A Change

When facing an elder who has dedicated his entire life to killing, one's fate is sealed in death.

The control, the subtlety of the psychological game, and the ingenuity and adaptability of the plan were astonishing! Chen had to admit that he wouldn't have done as well if he had been in the position Jun had left him.

Jun must be an assassin, killing without leaving a trace and without using his own hands. Chen suddenly felt quite scared thinking about what would happen if this person were an enemy. With this thought, he disappeared into the snow even faster.

Chen vanished like the wind. The man in purple finally collapsed face-down. Blood gushed from his decapitated body, appearing like an arrow piercing through his chest. His eyes remained wide open.

One of the men in purple, struggling not to choke on his own blood, looked at Jun, whose expression had changed from fearful to emotionless, and asked, "Who the hell are you?"

"Me? I'm just a simple human!" Jun replied, feigning surprise.

"Who exactly are you?" The man's eyes widened even more as the blood bubbling on his chest slowly frothed.

"I'm an ordinary man, more common than average." Jun gave the most honest and accurate response.

"You…" The man in purple was so infuriated by these truthful and precise words that he shot up from the ground before collapsing once more, dead.

"Ha ha ha! I'm not lying! Do I look like someone who would lie?" Jun spread his hands innocently. "How can this guy have such low tolerance and die of rage? Never mind, he couldn't even beat a cripple; keeping him alive would be a waste of rice and grain better spent on those who matter."

At that moment, the small hotel erupted in screams, and all the guests ran out as if they'd seen a ticking time bomb.

Everyone ran into the snow, fleeing.

Jun laughed at this and said, "It's done. Let's go!"

"Wait a minute! Young man, don't you think you owe us an explanation for causing people to kill each other in our hotel and causing so much destruction?" Behind the counter, the two elderly men, who had both been in a state of sleep, finally stood up and looked at Jun seriously.

One had a rosier complexion and looked more presentable, while the other was too thin and had a nose on his forehead. The contrast between them was quite amusing.

They didn't even glance at the bodies on the floor. It seemed they were accustomed to the acrid smell of blood. Both looked at Jun warily.

"Are you kidding me? Are you two blind old men? The killer, the cripple, flew out of here like a comet, and you didn't say a word. Now you're asking me? What does this murder have to do with me? Even if you complain to those so-called gods of yours, they won't listen! I've never seen anyone frame people like this! Do you think I'm an easy target? No way!" Jun exaggeratedly shouted as if he were on drugs.

"Don't try to deceive me, young man! If it weren't for you, Chen wouldn't have dealt with those men so easily!" The rosier elder smiled and continued in a serious tone, "Young man, we mean no harm; we're just curious. Who is your master? There aren't many people who can raise a killer with such an aura as young as you. I'm really curious.

As he laughed, his face looked very strange, as if it had split in two. Looking closely, right in the middle of his face was a sword scar that had split it in half. It wasn't obvious when he didn't smile, as it had healed well, but when he did, the twisting muscles began to emerge from the wound, creating a grotesque sight.

"Who taught me? My teachers are those big twins sitting over there like turtles eating." Jun smiled widely and pointed to the twins, Trevor and Verá, who were hurriedly eating.

At that moment, both twins, sensing something, stopped drinking their wine and slowly stood up, holding a sword in each hand.

"Are you looking for trouble?"

"Who are you?"

"First, you should remove the masks from your faces," Trevor said, pointing at their faces as if he had seen through the elders' disguises.

The elders became serious, looking at the twins, completely ignoring Jun, who hadn't moved from his spot.

"You don't need to worry about who I am, but know that you definitely won't handle what happened here properly. If the rumors are true, soon there will be a gathering of assassins to decide who will be the next king of the Zhao tribes and clans." Verá spoke softly while looking at the elders. Any hesitation on her face was gone as she added, "If that assassin clan is nearby, I believe they'll be here soon. You may be strong enough now, but if you don't want trouble, you should stay out of it. I think if you choose to withdraw here, you'll avoid a lot of problems."

The two owners were once the supreme and powerful men of the previous generation of assassins in the Zhao mountains; though famous for the Haiyue clan, they were nothing more than trash.

The elder with the scar on his forehead muttered softly, "Thank you for your concern. While we may not provoke the assassin clans, if they really want to deal with us, they'll have to think twice."

At that moment, the wind seemed to shift, and as the elders were about to turn their heads, cold words whispered from their right: "There's nothing better than being old and unafraid of death, is there?"

Jun, who had appeared beside the elders without being noticed, murmured something more: "I'm tired of pretending. I learned that someone killed some of my men, causing all this trash to spiral out of control."

"We didn't hear about that."

"Don't answer me. You don't want to see my fury, so let's leave the games here. If you're curious about us, maybe later you'll hear more about where we come from." Jun said before appearing at the exit, where the snow was swirling fiercely.

The twins, without saying a word, walked behind Jun like two guards, ready to protect their lord.

Shen, meanwhile, pulled out two gold coins and placed them on the counter. "For the emotional damages, repairs, and cleaning."

When the two elders saw that no one remained in their hotel, they removed the masks from their faces, revealing new appearances, and one couldn't help but murmur, "That young man is terrifying."

"Yes, he lied right to our faces, but it's better we didn't ask further questions."
