King Of War: Starting with Arms Dealer

Chapter 663: Convergence

When 'Long Legs' came back from the bathroom, Joe Ga chatted with him again and then prepared a gun and some cash for him, telling him to follow the supply truck back to Baghdad that day. From there, he was to board the cargo plane that had brought 'Avenger' and head to Tubruq to report to Thompson.

Joe Ga did not trust 'Long Legs'; rather, the guy simply had no choice.

He had been so desperate that he applied for a job at P.B. to avoid Thompson's collection efforts. Even if he were let go, he had nowhere to hide.

Joe Ga even felt that after 'Long Legs' gave up resisting, he seemed much more relaxed, as if a thousand-pound weight had been lifted off his shoulders.

In order to save little Jack Heinz's life, he sent part of the 'stain list' saved by the 'Accountant' to Thompson.

In return, P.B. needed to release 'Smoker' and 'Syringe,' who were being kept as laborers in Sangha Town, and provide Jack with some necessary support so he could survive the return.

As long as Jack was still alive in the end, P.B. would get the remaining parts of that list.

The 'Accountant' had something very lethal in his possession, but the Heinz Family was down to one person, and as the accountant of the Hoyl Family, 'Long Legs' was the only seed left.

If Jack died, everything would lose its meaning, for it was a debt of the Heinz Family.

If others took that thing to the other party, it would be like you found a promissory note on the road and went to collect the debt— you'd get beaten up!

The Heinz Family actually helped those soldiers who had erred. It was reasonable for them to collect debts, but for others to take the 'promissory note' to ask for cooperation would be extortion and provocation.

Only an approach like Qiao's, ready to give favors, could really make use of the list.

For others, it would become a hit list.

The Heinz Family itself had lost many due to this reason, which led to the development of the 'Accountant' to act as their insurance. Others trying to blackmail those involved with the stain list, heh...

Without considering these practical issues, the Hoyl Family's loyalty to the Heinz Family was quite touching.

According to 'Long Legs', he had never actually met Jack.

After his father found a partner to go to Central Africa and deliver vegetables, he had a stroke and was hospitalized.

When he heard that Jack had been captured and was later forced to kill Harlotte to atone, his father became excited in the hospital and passed away.

'Long Legs' was a rookie 'Accountant.' He hadn't fully understood how the 'Accountant' operated before he was thrust into the role, coordinating with Jack to trace Harlotte's whereabouts.

Because 'Long Legs' was too green, within a few months, Thompson caught his trail, and then he was pursued by all sorts of mysterious intelligence agencies.

'Long Legs' was a retired soldier from the Marine Corps Recon Battalion, with decent skills and exceptional stamina.

But he was no professional spy. Faced with that kind of swirling intelligence scrutiny and pursuit, he, already nervous, was frightened into a desperate flight.

In the end, 'Long Legs' chose to participate in P.B.'s selection, hoping to take advantage of the cover of darkness to turn the tables.

Unfortunately, Jack had accepted an invitation from someone at the Pentagon who wanted him to execute an almost certainly fatal mission.

This left 'Long Legs' with no option but to blow his cover!

This was truly like a pie falling from the sky, making Joe Ga want to burst into laughter...

He never imagined P.B.'s reputation would be so good that even the 'Accountant' believed that asking Qiao was more reliable than asking anyone else.

In such a case, Qiao had to be a little proud.

And soon Joe Ga discovered something even more interesting...

Jack Heinz was not the only one assigned to a task...

He was merely one member of the mission and needed to meet a group selected by the Pentagon in Baghdad.

Among them, Qiao recognized some of them...

The SEAL Team Six he had worked with in Liberia, their captain known as "Hellhound"!

Nobody expected that the first thing "Hellhound" and his comrades would do after landing in Baghdad would be to contact P.B.

They wanted to purchase arms from P.B. and also inquired if it was possible to find a Kurdish guide, as well as seeking a bit of assistance.

These people were given new identities, detached from the military.

To obfuscate or rather to confirm their mercenary status, the Pentagon even added a bunch of skilled individuals seeking amnesty from a military prison. These were the hands Jack needed to worry about.

The Halliburton Company signed a contract with them to perform a rescue mission in Syria.

These people, including 'Long Legs,' didn't know that the old lady from America had no expectation that they could actually rescue anyone; their mission was to locate the target and then direct the bombing.

The best way to make everything disappear was to get them covered by the missiles as well.

The mission they were executing was not the nine-deaths-one-life situation 'Long Legs' thought. Without help, they were as good as dead.

Joe Ga had no interest in those who had made mistakes and ended up in prison, but he was interested in "Hellhound" and his men.

SEAL Team Six, eh? As long as they could survive, and he could tell them about the old lady's tricks, Joe Ga didn't believe they would have no reaction.

They didn't even have to do anything other than feign death, and they would learn just how vicious the old lady was.
