Chapter 14: Chapter 14: Jump At The Cup And Pay Top Dollar For It
The door was slightly ajar, which was why she was able to eavesdrop on the conversation. Otherwise, with the soundproofing done on the rooms in the villa, she would never have known that her husband was so cute when he was worried.
She lifted her hand and knocked on the door twice.
"Come in." came Mo Shian's reply.
Weiwei pushed the door and walked toward the desk. She placed the glass of milk beside the computer and took the seat opposite Mo Shian.
"I asked Aunt Wu to replace your coffee with a glass of milk. Too much coffee isn't good for your health, and drinking coffee at night will affect the quality of your sleep." Said Weiwei.
"It's better to drink milk. It will help you sleep better." She continued.
"Thank you." Said Mo Shian as he took the glass of milk and gulped it down.
"What are you working on?" asked Weiwei.
Mo Shian was taken aback by Weiwei's question. She never asked about his work, even when their marriage was going well. So, it came as a surprise when she inquired about his work. He shifted his eyes from the computer and observed Weiwei determine if she was serious about asking what he was working on or if she just asked to make conversation.
"Forget it if you can't talk about it." Weiwei said as she started feeling a little uncomfortable by the way, Mo Shian was looking at her.
His ocean blue eyes were making it hard for her to look away as they drew her in, but she also couldn't keep looking at him as she was afraid he would think she had started treating him better because she wanted to ask about company secrets and give them to someone else. The last thing she wanted was for her husband to suspect her.
"There is nothing I cannot talk to you about." Said Mo Shian once he was sure she was really interested in his work.
"We've built a new high-end mall on Pearl Street, which, as you know, is one of the busiest areas in the city with luxury shops and hotels. Everything is almost ready except the relevant departments have not yet come up with a suitable proposal for the second floor."
"What about the other floors?"
"All of them have been allocated different services and products from luxury brands," Mo Shian replied.
"What did the relevant department suggest about the second floor?" Weiwei asked curiously.
Mo Shian couldn't help but snort when he thought about the proposal he had trashed that evening.
"They suggested opening a high-end restaurant, but there is already a restaurant on the first floor. So, that will be a waste of resources and will lead to losses."
"That's true, unless the two restaurants sold completely unrelated or complimentary products, then it might maximize profits." Said Weiwei.
"What's on your mind?" Mo Shian got interested in Weiwei's suggestion. Just what could be different in a restaurant other than food, or what could complement the food sold in the restaurant and cause profits to be increased?
Weiwei couldn't remember what had been established on the second floor of the mall in her previous life, but she could remember that in six months, the healthy living concept would go viral and be adopted by many people, especially the rich. Wealthy people care about themselves a lot, and as long as something tells them that they will live healthier lives or become more beautiful, then they will pour money into getting it. Being a pioneer in the healthy living concept will only benefit the Mo Corporation.
"There is this trend that has surfaced about healthy living. Most people want to live their lives free of sickness. They want to have healthy bodies with minimal activities and improve their appearance without cosmetic surgery or using too many chemicals, which might backfire in the future."
"What if there was a restaurant that could provide all that at a price?"
"What do you mean?" Mo Shian's curiosity was piqued.
"When this trend surfaced a few months ago, I started following it and experimenting with a few things. I haven't used any, but my roommates at the university have used the products I make with the recipes I came up with and they have improved tremendously." Of course, this was a lie. She couldn't tell him that she got the recipes from a restaurant she worked in part-time in her previous life, could she? While she was rebelling against Mo Shian in her previous life, there was a time she refused to use his money and decided to work. She had found a job at a high-end restaurant specializing in healthy drinks and food. That's where she learned the recipes. As for why she would use the recipes when the original owner was probably working her ass off to come up with them right now, it's because she had crossed her bottom line in her previous life.
After seeing that she had mastered the art of making healthy drinks so well and customers would specifically ask for her, the wife of the restaurant's owner got jealous and accused her of seducing her husband. She had come to work the following day with her marriage certificate and slapped the lady in the face with it. She had never been so proud of being Mo Shian's wife as she was at that moment. The lady had been so embarrassed and kept apologizing but Weiwei had just left. Now, it was payback time. She will use those recipes to make the Mo Corporation a pioneer in healthy living.
"This has guaranteed results, and the more someone uses it, the better, so they will keep coming back. Many wealthy people don't like getting tired, even if it's from working out. So, if you tell them that they can get the results of exercising from a cup, what do you think they will do?" asked Weiwei.
"Jump at the cup and pay top dollar for it." Replied Mo Shian.
