Chapter 7: Chapter 7:Devil'S Hour
The room was quiet, save for the soft hum of machines and the scratching of pens on paper. Researchers in lab courts hunched over their desks, focused on their work in the middle of a laboratory with various samples of humans, Animals etc being experiments... Then, the phone rang.
A slender woman, elegant in her own unique way, picked it up. Her face, once radiant, turned pale as death as she listened. Her hands trembled, and her voice came out in a whisper: **"He's here… The Assassination Devil."**
Chaos erupted. Papers flew, computers were smashed, and documents burned. Fear gripped everyone as they realized their time was up. A stout man with an authoritative presence shouted, **"Call for reinforcements! As many as you can, within a day!"** His voice carried a strange power, rallying the terrified team.
The lab, filled with test samples of humans, animals, and advanced technology, fell silent. The man raised his fist, his voice booming: **"Even if we lose, we won't give up! We'll fight for the Mighty Dragon! Hail China!"
The room erupted in cheers. Despite the odds, they were ready to give their all for their country, one last time. ... The commandar man finally said - '' It's finally happening, The Utopia that we have been planning since centuries... . The new World Order will be established..!!!! `Doesn't matter even if it means all of us are gonna die!!! ''
He lowered his voice, Went near a bunch of potraits from past and said - '' We're finaly here''
He ordered everyone to transfer all of the research to the headquarters before the assasination devil
Kalyan stepped into the final battlefield. The once-thriving city of Beijing was now a barren wasteland, destroyed by nuclear fire. The only signs of life were the soldiers preparing for battle. ..
He glanced at his Maddychip. *One and a half days left.* Just enough time to finish this and make it to his wedding.
A smirk crossed his face. This was it—the end. He would finally fulfill his promises to his friends, his fiancée, and his commander. But as he moved forward, cutting down enemy soldiers, something shifted....
As the war of 10 years that destroyed all of the forte Humanity had achieved, All of the Technology.. Humans came up with were in vapours.. He was thinking about.. Why was he moving forward.. He joined the forces to take revenge for his father.. But he didn't.. But why is he still continuing with it.... What was he fighting for?? Why did commandor L even mattered... Why was he even going to marry Shanaya... It wasn't like he loved her.. He just didn't wanted to disappoint her...
He was beheading soldiers but
He couldn't bear with the thoughts anymore
Memories of his father flooded his mind....
He lived near a border town of the state of Uttarakhand... It wasn't his hometown.. But.. There was some fuet between his father and others there.. Thus, his family shifted here after his birth..... It was a town where most of the men were in the armed forces to protect their country and feed their families..
He remembered how he was a frail child, small for his age, with a body that seemed to betray him at every turn. While other boys ran through the fields, climbed trees, and played rough games, Kalyan could only watch from the sidelines. His weak frame made him an easy target for bullies, who mocked him for his inability to keep up.
One day, a group of boys stole his rangoli colors—a gift from his father, Vijay Kumar. Kalyan tried to fight back, but they pushed him to the ground, laughing as he struggled to stand. That night, Vijay found him crying in their small courtyard...
"Why am I so weak?" Kalyan sobbed.
Vijay knelt beside him, his calloused hands brushing away his son's tears. **"Strength isn't just in the body, son. It's here,"** he said, tapping Kalyan's chest. **"And here,"** he added, touching his forehead. **"You'll find your way. I promise... Just use it for helping others unlike me who joined the forces''*
Kalyan used to be confused at that time why his father used to be guilty.. He was protecting his country from all of the enemies afterall... But he was starting to realise it.. As the war was ending.. And the purpose of his life was finally near to the end
Vijay, a man of modest means, sold their ancestral land to buy a neural tutor—a cutting-edge device that could teach Kalyan everything from mathematics to martial arts. The villagers whispered that Vijay was a fool, wasting his money on a weakling. But Vijay believed in his son.
The neural tutor became Kalyan's only friend. It taught him how to fight, how to strategize, and how to endure pain. But it also fed his anger. The bullies' taunts grew louder, and one day, Kalyan snapped. He broke the arm of the boy who had stolen his rangoli colors...
The village called him a monster but that really didn't bothered him at all... It was the fact that his father was dissappointed in him for using his strength against the weak..
He came into a sudden shock....
It is what he has been doing for so long now... He betrayed his father's trust....
But as he was thinking all of that... Hundreds of soldiers attackef him.. He felt a hesitation this time but he still did it.. Because he didn't wanted to end hinself... He had a fleshback about how his father before entering to the war asked him to live...live as much as possible...
Kalyan's blade moved swiftly, but his mind was elsewhere. He thought of the lives he had taken—maybe a million, maybe more. He couldn't remember. Each kill had been for revenge, for justice, or so he told himself at that time..
But now, as the war neared its end, he felt empty. His purpose was slipping away...
He was back in his past remembering how kind his father was..
Vijay had donated their savings to a Maddychip engineer claiming to help drug addicts... They went hungry for days, only to discover the man was a scammer. Kalyan was furious, but Vijay simply said, **"Mercy isn't a transaction. It's a seed. Even in barren soil."*
He started to remember those sweet moments with his father that anyone else would call what a good life is
He remembered Diwali, the festival of lights...Vijay would design rangoli patterns, and the night would glow with diyas and fireworks.. It wasn't like anyone believed in god after so much of destruction and chaos in the world ... But it was to enjoy some little moments with their family..
''We light lamps not for others," Vijay had said, "but for the shadows inside us."..
Now, Kalyan felt those shadows closing in.
Kalyan slowed, his movements heavy. The ghosts of his victims surrounded him—children, wives, fathers. Their voices echoed:"You took everything from us."
Kalyan stopped, breathing heavily. The weight of his actions crushed him. He had lived for revenge, for others, but never for himself. He didn't even know what love was.
The voices grew louder: You stole our futures. Our dreams... While sitting his back.. He was feeling the weight of a million of his shoulders
He fell to his knees, surrounded by the souls of the dead. The war was ending soon, but the battle within his heart was just starting to begin....
