Chapter 26: Day 5

The blare was deafening. Bangchan, usually a deep sleeper, shot straight up in bed, heart hammering against his ribs. The offending noise - an aggressively loud air horn – echoed through the mansion, followed by a chorus of laughter that sounded suspiciously like BTS. He heard a thud from the room next door and a muffled curse that he was pretty sure belonged to Hyunjin.

This was Jin's idea of a welcome, apparently. A taste of the legendary BTS wake-up call discipline. Bangchan groaned, burying his face in his pillow. Leader duties would have to wait; right now, all he wanted was to strangle Kim Seokjin with his bare hands.

Similar chaos reigned throughout the sprawling mansion. Lee Know, tangled in the sheets with Han and I.N, yelped and nearly launched them all off the bed. Felix hit the floor with a resounding thump, earning a string of Changbin's frustrated grumbles. Seungmin, ever the pragmatist, simply groaned and pulled a pillow over his head, only to have it yanked away by a gleeful Jungkook, who was now standing in his doorway, air horn at the ready for a second assault.

Eventually, bleary-eyed and thoroughly disoriented, Stray Kids emerged from their rooms, a mixture of indignation and amusement etched on their faces. The BTS members were gathered in the hallway, doubled over with laughter. Jimin, still clutching the air horn, gave a theatrical bow.

"Welcome to our world," he chirped, earning a collective glare from the younger group.

The sheer size of the BTS studio was another shock. Stray Kids were used to cramped quarters, battling for floor space. This studio was easily ten times the size of theirs, with gleaming soundboards, a dedicated dance practice area, and even a lounge area with a view of the city. It was intimidating, to say the least.

The initial energy was palpable. Excited chatter filled the air as they began work on the first song of their collaboration. However, the early morning wake-up call soon took its toll. The dance routines felt sluggish, the vocal harmonies strained. Even Han, usually a boundless source of energy, looked a little weary.

Jin observed the waning enthusiasm with a knowing smile. He'd seen this many times before. "Alright, everyone, let's take a break," he announced, clapping his hands. "Hoseok-ah, could you lead us in some yoga? We need to wake up our bodies properly."

A collective groan went through the Stray Kids members. Seungmin, still smarting from his unexpected floor-diving experience, muttered, "We should have started with that this morning."

But under J-Hope's patient guidance, the yoga session proved to be a revelation. Stretches eased stiff muscles, breathing exercises calmed frayed nerves. The peaceful atmosphere, a stark contrast to the chaotic morning, allowed them to center themselves and shake off the remaining sleep dust.

"Okay, now that's what I'm talking about!" Felix exclaimed, feeling the tension melt away from his shoulders. "I feel amazing."

Refreshed and rejuvenated, Stray Kids approached the song with renewed vigor. Hours flew by in a blur of singing, dancing, and collaborative brainstorming. They experimented with vocal techniques, blending their different styles to create a unique sound. Hyunjin and Jimin found common ground in their dance styles, while Lee Know and Suga traded insights on choreography. Han and RM dissected the lyrics, tweaking them to perfection.

Finally, after hours of relentless effort, they finished the first song. A cheer erupted, filling the studio with the sound of accomplishment and shared joy. They hugged, high-fived, and congratulated each other, the initial awkwardness of the morning long forgotten.

As the day wound down, everyone showered and changed, their bodies aching but their spirits soaring. They gathered in the living room, a comfortable mix of BTS and Stray Kids members. The various couples naturally gravitated towards each other.

RM and Bangchan found themselves drawn into a separate conversation, discussing the responsibilities and challenges of leading a group. They exchanged anecdotes and shared their philosophies on maintaining team morale and fostering creativity.

The maknae lines – Jungkook, I.N, Seungmin, and Felix – were a whirlwind of playful energy. They teased each other mercilessly, swapped funny stories, and launched into impromptu dance-offs, much to the amusement of the older members.

Meanwhile, the hyung lines – Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Lee Know, Changbin, and Hyunjin – took over the kitchen, their combined culinary skills producing a delicious and surprisingly harmonious dinner. They laughed, reminisced, and shared their hopes for the future.

Later, as the evening progressed, the Stray Kids couples sought out their own quiet corners of the mansion. Lee Know, Han, and I.N curled up on a plush sofa, sharing jokes and whispered confessions. Bangchan and Hyunjin retreated to Bangchan's office, where they sat in comfortable silence, simply enjoying each other's presence after a long day. Felix, Seungmin, and Changbin found solace in their own unique dynamic, teasing and supporting each other in equal measure.

As the night deepened, a sense of contentment settled over the mansion. The initial chaos and challenges of the day had faded, replaced by a feeling of camaraderie and genuine connection. They had started as two distinct groups, but after a day of shared effort and mutual respect, they had begun to forge a bond that would last long beyond this collaboration. The atmosphere was perfect, a testament to the power of music, friendship, and a little bit of well-deserved rest. And hopefully, no more air horns.
