K-Eldest Daughter Possessed a Childcare Novel

Ch. 24

Belladi literally subdued Meldor with incredible strength.

Meldor, completely unprepared, was utterly crushed by Belladi and had no choice but to obey her commands.

‘Just brute strength!’

On the day his father left, Meldor was forced by Belladi to kneel all day with his hands raised.

He wanted to ignore her and run away, but somehow, it was hard to even stand in front of Belladi’s expressionless face.

‘It’s like facing Father…!’

The moment when he was crushed by Belladi’s aura was more humiliating for Meldor than the punishment itself.

Even after that day, Meldor rebelled against Belladi several more times. But each time, he was met with an impossibly difficult fight.

Through these experiences, Meldor began to unconsciously recognize Belladi as an .

Maybe that was why he was even more afraid of her.

‘Ugh! Neither Mother nor Father ever scolded me like this, so who does she think she is, just because she is my sister!’

How dared she treat him like this!

And what was this overwhelming pressure that made it impossible to resist?

‘Could it be that she’s been hiding her strength all along, waiting for the right moment?’

Now that he thought about it, their father’s sudden departure to the north seemed suspicious.

Just before he left, their father seemed to oppose the northern cave expedition, but suddenly changed his mind within a day.

‘Could it be that Belladi Alton was behind Father’s departure to the north as well?’

If that were true, then Belladi was truly a demon capable of even dethroning the Demon King.

It was only natural that Meldor couldn’t defeat such a demon.

‘If only I were a little older…!’

Then he wouldn’t be getting trampled so easily!

Meldor clenched his teeth and his fists tightly.

“Just you wait, Belladi Alton! I’ll never forgive you.”

After angrily punching his pillow for a while, Meldor called for a servant.

“You called for me, little duke?”

“Where’s Rover?!”

“The butler is overseeing the construction in the greenhouse.”

Meldor frowned at those words.

‘He’s been lingering around Belladi Alton recently! That bastard Rover!’

Meldor had always known that Emily, the head maid, was Belladi’s loyal follower. But Rover had been his and his father’s assistant even before he became the head butler. He had spent more time with Meldor than with Belladi and they had been close.

But when did Belladi Alton manage to win over even Rover?

‘I didn’t want to resort to such petty tactics, but… I have no choice!’

Everything he was doing was because of Belladi.

To stop the demon’s tyranny, Meldor decided to send a distress signal.

‘I’m going to tell Father everything!’

“Get me paper and a pen!”

“Yes, little duke.”

The servant quickly brought paper and a pen, and Meldor began writing furiously about his grievances and Belladi’s atrocities.

Dear Father,

Belladi Elton seems to have finally lost her mind! She’s been using brute force to crush me and is acting as if she owns this residence!

I tried to stop her, but I’m no match for her! It’s times like this that I regret being so young!

You must return from the north immediately and restore order to our household!

As your successor, I desperately hope that everything returns to normal soon!

Meldor, who stays up all night worrying about our broken household.

“Deliver this to the north immediately! Use the fastest method!”

“Yes, little duke.”

‘You’re finished, Belladi Elton.’

Once their father returned, everything would go back to the way it was.

When that time came, he would laugh at that demon as much as he wanted!

Meldor smiled wickedly, imagining that moment.

“Lady Belladi, here it is.”

I took the letter from the servant. As I opened the light blue envelope, the contents were quite amusing.

“Hmph, seems like Meldor was really upset. Well done. From now on, report everything Meldor does to me.”

“Yes, Lady Belladi.”

Meldor’s servant bowed deeply and left my room.

I looked at the letter for a moment before tossing it into the fireplace. Meldor’s letter quickly went up in flames.

‘He doesn’t realize that even his servant is under my control, does he?’

Meldor probably thought only Rover has sided with me. Unfortunately for him, all the household staff had prioritized my orders over his for quite some time now.

It was a very satisfying development.

‘By the way, he’s only just now writing a letter?’

It had already been fifteen days since our father left the estate.

Since that day, Meldor hadn’t dared to say a word to me. A pampered prince like him could never endure such treatment.

I thought he would’ve written to Father within three days…

He actually held out longer than I expected.

‘Since I’ve used the stick appropriately, maybe I should start giving out a few carrots.’

If Meldor were a bit older, I would’ve mercilessly crushed him with sheer force. No, considering all the years I’d been disregarded, that wouldn’t even be enough.

But Meldor, in modern terms, was still just an elementary school student. And I was someone who could offer a last chance to a child.

‘Is that guy truly wicked by nature, or is it just because of the stress?’

Let’s see.

Sitting in a chair, I gazed at the crackling fireplace. Then, I began writing a letter on the prepared paper.

Naturally, the letter was addressed to my father.

“Send this to the north.”

“Yes, Lady Belladi.”

After handing the letter to the maid, I stretched lightly.

In the past two weeks, my mother’s birthday had passed. That meant Father must have met Nesia by now.

Father would have had a lot on his mind because of the unexpected child. So, the likelihood of him agreeing to my request was high.

‘I wonder what kind of expression Meldor will make when he gets the carrot.’

I was a little curious about the funny look that would appear on his face.

Father’s reply arrived swiftly.

As I read through the letter, I couldn’t help but grin at the final sentence.

I’ll leave it to you.

‘As I thought, his heart has softened.’

Satisfied, I folded the letter neatly and asked the maid who was standing by.

“Where is Meldor right now?”

“He is practicing swordsmanship at the training grounds.”

“Perfect.”

If he was training, then Sir Brooks, his teacher, would also be there. Leaving the maids behind in the room, I headed to Meldor’s private training grounds alone.

Meldor’s training ground was located on the second floor of the knight’s building on the right side of the main building. As I entered, I heard a loud shout.

“Haah!”

Covered in dust, Meldor was striking a straw dummy with a wooden sword.

“Straighten your back!”

Beside him, the older Sir Brooks was sternly instructing him.

Since I was learning swordsmanship myself, Meldor’s stance was obvious to me.

‘Indeed, Meldor has no talent for the sword.’

It had been years since he started learning, yet his form still had many awkward aspects. Sir Brooks must have noticed too, as he kept correcting Meldor’s stance.

Deliberately making my footsteps louder, I approached them. Both turned their gaze toward me.

“You… why are you here, sister?”

“Lady Belladi. It’s been a while.”

I glanced briefly at the blunt Meldor and then greeted Sir Brooks.

“It’s been a while, Sir Brooks. Sorry to interrupt your training, but I have something to deliver.”

As I spoke, I showed them the letter I was holding. At the sight of it, Meldor’s eyes sparkled.

“Father’s letter!”

“That’s right, Meldor.”

“What does it say? Is he coming back soon?!”

“No, he says he’s too busy with matters in the north to come.”

At my answer, Meldor’s expression twisted.

“That can’t be! Give it to me!”

Tsk, tsk. He didn’t even realize that his letter, full of appeals, had already been burned.

Meldor angrily threw his wooden sword to the ground and reached out toward me. His rude action prompted a firm shout from Sir Brooks.

“What kind of behavior is this for someone on the path of a knight?!”

At the scolding, Meldor froze.

He looked up at me with resentful eyes before slowly turning and facing Sir Brooks.

“My apologies, Master.”

“Reaching out to a lady like that is extremely discourteous. Even if it’s family, you must observe proper etiquette.”

“Yes…”

‘As expected, Meldor listens well to Father and Sir Brooks.’

Meldor had no talent for swordsmanship, but he admired knights. That had been true even in the original story, where he hadn’t learned the sword.

It must be admiration for something he couldn’t have. Perhaps that was why he was so fond of and followed the eldest in the original story.

‘Hmm, I’m pretty good with a sword now. Maybe he’ll follow me too?’

Putting aside my idle thoughts, I spoke to Sir Brooks.

“Don’t be too hard on Meldor. It’s his first time being apart from Father for so long, so he must be missing him.”

If Sir Brooks kept scolding Meldor for too long, it would only waste my time.

To wrap up the situation, I handed the letter to Sir Brooks.

“Please read it, Sir Brooks.”

“Is it alright for me to read it?”

“It would be easier for you to see it directly than for me to explain.”

Sir Brooks opened the letter and soon nodded in understanding.

“It seems the duke has finally made a significant decision.”

“I’ve been steadily persuading him, and I heard you’ve been doing the same.”

“So, Lady Belladi was involved as well. When I reported on my own, he wouldn’t reconsider, but I suppose a daughter’s words hold more weight.”

Sir Brooks smiled slightly as he returned the letter to me.

I also smiled brightly at him.

‘Of course, I’ve never been steadily persuading him.’

According to Rover, Sir Brooks had been sending the same reports to Father consistently. I had merely added a spoonful on top.

Father had always been soft when it came to Meldor. And with Nesia now in his care, it seemed he had been thinking more about child-raising.

‘Well, I did predict all of this and set the timing. So, I guess it’s fair to call it my doing.’

Everything was going according to my plan.

I smiled confidently, as always.
