Chapter 23: A "Fun" Game of Basketball

The three youths made their way to Jujutsu Tech, after a mishap on Gojo's part they had finally arrived.

Gojo and Mei Mei made their way to the school's hospital – yeah it had one, although it was small it was actually quite better than all the other hospitals in Tokyo.

Gojo walked through the door coolly, he found an empty room before dropping Kakashi on the bed and making sure he wouldn't be going anywhere. He then went to call the doctor.

It was only he and Mei Mei in the room, naturally he would like to start a conversation with her but as a former introvert his skills in that department were zero.

"Mei Mei."

"What is it kid?" She said quickly.

"I was wondering if that grade one curse we fought was strong." Kakashi said.

This was the only way he had to have a conversation with someone.

"I don't know, ask Gojo." She said honsetly.

"This was the first grade one I fought so I don't have anything to tell." She sighed before taking in a breath.

"And before you say anything I fought it, don't go blabbing about my achievements, you were the reinforcement."

"But I helped!"

"I don't see anyway being knocked through 2 houses is helping." She quipped.

"However you saved me and I'm not the kind of person that doesn't repay a favor."

She walked towards him and dropped the sack next to him, she looked at him for a second before rubbing his forehead.

Kakashi enjoyed the sensation, it felt like a masterpiece was massaging him, it... Why did she stop?

"Get well kid." She said silently, but Kakashi heard her.

She began walking out the room, she then stopped and looked in his direction. "I've repayed the favor." She said before leaving.

"Cool with that." He said to no one as he waited for Gojo to return.

From what she had said during the fight they had initially thought that this was a semi-grade one. He truly felt unfortunate for the people who sent her, as she had not only worked overtime, but still fought a grade one curse when it was supposed to be semi-grade one.

Kakashi not sure what he should be doing while waiting for Gojo tried channeling chakra into where his leg had been before, surprisingly something shocking happened, his chakra seemed to form a limb on around where his leg had been before.

Though it used most of his chakra he didn't regret it, he felt like the next time he lost a limb incase he was alone he would be able to make it back with the body part without anyone's help.

Just as he felt it was time to take his chakra-limb for a spin the door opened and Gojo and a man in Jujutsu Tech uniform came in.

Gojo looked at him before laughing.

"Are you really that embarrassed about missing a leg." Gojo said.

Kakashi clicked his tongue at the interruption before proceeding to lie back down on the bed, Gojo really had a knack at coming in at both the right and wrong time.

The doctor in black walked towards him and stared at the leg, he only looked at it for some seconds before bringing out two of his hands. The black gave him the feeling that he had just attended a funeral but it was the uniform so he didn't think too much about it.

The man put his tow hands around where Kakashi's leg used to be, then he began channeling reverse cursed energy into the wound, at first nothing happened and it stayed like that for around 20 good minutes before a leg burst through the wound.

It happened so sudden that Kakashi didn't have time to react, he had expected the process not to be so sudden. It was like Piccolo sprouting a new hand, except it took a long time and when it happened it was too sudden.

Nobody seemed surprised about it and he was immediately shoo- I mean discharged from the hospital. He wondered why they even had a hospital in the first place.

"Why do they even have a hospital when everyone should be able to use reverse cursed energy?" Kakashi wondered aloud.

Gojo literally facepalmed himself.

"Do you think that everyone can use it?!" Gojo practically shouted.

Kakashi smirked.

"Oh, I forgot there were cases like you." He quipped.

"Yeah, and people like you are the exception?"

"Exactly." Kakashi said proudly while flashing a grin.

"Come on kid, were going to the court." Gojo said as he walked with Kakashi ruffling his hair.

The only time he called Kakashi kid was when he was playing with him.

"Why? For stomping on your pride." Kakashi quipped as he got out of reach of Gojo's hand.

Gojo said nothing but continued to guide the "kid" towards the school's basketball court.

It was time to shoot some hoops!

"This is cheating!" Kakashi complained.

He and Gojo had started just ten minutes ago, yet the scores were already far apart. Why was he still in zero?

"You are using the six eyes!"

"Hey, is it me that asked you not to have an eye technique. Another thing, you look like Kakashi but you don't have the sharingan." Gojo said as he took the ball, dribbled and shot some hoops.

"Do you want to stop here? I don't want to make a kid cry."

Kakashi pumped chakra into his special eye, he closed it for special effect as it underwent a change. When it opened it was a three tomoe sharingan.

He looked Gojo directly in the eye, Gojo felt like he couldn't keep his eyes off the kid. It was now Kakashi's turn.

Taking the ball he began dribbling to confuse Gojo, all the while without breaking eye contact with him.

He tried to go to the right after judging the way Kakashi moved but at the last moment he spun to the other side and went past him. With the eye contact broken, Gojo was now free from the hypnotic eye and with speed that could only be achieved by someone with long legs he sped in front of the hoop.

Kakashi smiled then jumped as he tried a shot, however Gojo easily caught the ball and from the place he was easily got another hoop in.

But Kakash just smiled, he had realized how he would beat Gojo!

Since they both had eye techniques it wouldn't make sense if Gojo refused to look in his eyes, or looked at his feet. He would use the advantage of the hypnotic eye to make Gojo think that he could read his mind.

They continued at it...

"I give up!" Kakashi grumbled.

"No worries kid, playing in this league is a bit too much for you." Gojo said as he dropped the ball.

"You are a natural basketballer, you have long legs and your body is built like a pro-athlete!"

"Don't blame me for you being scrawny." Gojo said as he left the court.

"Where are you going?"

"To take a shower."

With that Gojo left the basketball court.

Kakashi fell onto his butt.

It was excruciatingly painful to lose that horribly in a one-on-one match.

Next time they fought, he would have some extra hands and legs.

Shadow clones.

His mastery of the shadow clone Jutsu wasn't great as he could only make four at a time, before Toji came with his glock he would need to be able to create more than 20 at a time without his sharingan.

And that would require mastery of the multi-shadow clone jutsu: the ultimate jumping technique.

But the main thing on his mind was upgrading his sharingan to mangekyou. With that he would have an easier time copying jutsus from the anime.

It took him three days to copy the rasengan; an A-rank ninjutsu, but it took him just a moment to copy the B-rank ninjutsu Water Dragon Jutsu. That explained a bit on the difference between B and A ranks.

However his goal was not to continually copy from either the anime or the manga.

No.

His goal was to copy people's cursed techniques and he believed the first thing that would allow him to walk on that path was.

"Mangekyou Sharingan."
