In the infirmary room, Maki moved slowly as she began to open her eyes, a numbing sensation spreading through her entire body before her vision fully adjusted, immediately noticing the white walls and the recognizable smell of alcohol.
Her thoughts were quick, and she understood that she was there thanks to Itadori…
But as soon as this recognition came to her, she turned almost desperately, her eyes landing on a second bed—empty but disheveled—an indication that someone else had been in that room with her.
"Mai…" Whispering her sister's name, whom she had seen with a nearly fatal wound, Maki got up and prepared to go search for her.
!
But the moment she stepped forward, she was startled when the ground beneath her feet trembled, her gaze shifting downward to notice a crack where she had stepped.
"What?" Her eyes widened in surprise, and lifting her hand, she slowly closed her fingers into a fist, amazed as a loud sound of air pressure escaping from between her fingers echoed. "This strength… Is it mine?"
She stared at her hands in fascination, feeling that tremendous new power coursing through her muscles, a sense that if she wasn't careful, she could destroy everything around her.
It was hypnotizing.
"Mai!" But setting it aside for now, she refocused, and carefully handling her newfound strength, she left the room to search for her sister.
She could explore this new power at will later, but she needed to know if Mai was alright immediately.
And as she walked with nearly cautious steps, her eyes narrowed when she noticed footsteps in the distance, her head turning toward the end of the hallway to see a figure emerging.
"Oh…" But as the figure revealed itself, a sound of surprise escaped her lips, her eyes blinking in recognition upon seeing Maki. "Hey—"
"You!" But not allowing the figure to continue, Maki rushed toward her with terrifying speed, grabbing the figure by the shoulder and pinning her against the wall.
"Wait, wait!" And up close, Maki could take a good look at the person in front of her, soon realizing it was the same girl from Suguru Geto's attack—Nanako, if Maki remembered correctly. "We're allies!"
Nanako explained quickly. Naturally, she wouldn't have surrendered so easily, but with her wrists pinned against the wall, there wasn't much she could do, especially since she hadn't even noticed the sorcerer's movement.
"What do you mean?" Maki raised an eyebrow in question. Allies? She found that hard to believe. "Explain yourself, now!"
Nanako swallowed before nodding quickly. "We made a binding vow with Itadori Yuji! The vessel of Sukuna!"
Maki was surprised for a moment, but she didn't doubt Itadori's intentions. If the boy had truly made a vow with the curse user in front of her, there must be a logical reason behind it.
But she couldn't leave her curiosity aside, so she didn't hold back from asking. "What kind of binding vow?"
Nanako remained silent for a moment, her eyes narrowing as she turned to Maki with seriousness, her face showing a hint of anger that Maki noticed.
"In exchange for having me and my sister as indefinite allies, the vessel of Sukuna will kill the one who stole Suguru Geto's body." She repeated as she remembered the day the vow was made, her words making Maki stare at her for several seconds.
Maki pondered this for a moment but couldn't fully understand Itadori's intentions behind it.
However, considering that he wanted them as allies, she doubted it could be something malicious…
In fact, she felt a strange confidence regarding Itadori… Maybe it was because this was the second time she survived thanks to him? Or because they trained together almost every day?
She couldn't say for certain, but she could feel her trust in the boy was greater than ever… Maybe she should let this go.
"Alright." Releasing Nanako, Maki stepped back to allow the girl to rub her wrists, which were marked by the sorcerer's fingers.
"Thank you." Nanako thanked her with a relieved sigh. "We were called here by him, so my sister and I were trying to find him."
Maki nodded, and although she still didn't fully trust Nanako, she could trust Itadori. "Follow me, I think I know where he might be."
Even so, she wouldn't let Nanako go unsupervised…
.
In his previous life, Itadori had been a fully grown man, someone who, despite being quite disciplined, knew how to enjoy life's pleasures. He wasn't someone easily "excited," especially since he had had a beautiful wife who could fulfill all his desires.
But unlike his former life, in his fully developed body, his current body was not that of an adult man.
It was a young body, full of hormones and desires that Itadori had put aside due to the overwhelmingly urgent problems he had to face.
But now, in this very moment, with a beautiful woman sitting firmly on his lap, he realized that had been a mistake.
He felt restrained, as if he were about to explode.
'Damn!' But no matter how much his body wanted this, he was too conscious to let it go that far.
Gently pushing Mai's shoulders, he pulled her lips away, his eyes shifting to her face to notice her eyes glowing with a seductive gleam, which didn't help the situation at all.
"What are you doing?" He asked seriously, his narrowed eyes indicating that he didn't seem to support her move.
And seeing this, Mai simply placed a finger on his lips, a small mischievous smile on her face. "I'm just repaying you for what you did for me and my sister."
Itadori looked at her in silence before letting out a sigh. "This isn't appropriate, I—"
"No." But cutting him off, Mai continued. "I want this. I want to repay you."
She spoke sincerely, her hands resting gently on his shoulders as she brought their faces closer. "We're only alive because of you, so please, let me do this… Don't think I'm forcing myself."
"..." Itadori pressed his lips together at her words.
He couldn't use the fact that they didn't know each other well because that was far from the truth. Itadori, at this point, might easily be the person who knew Mai the best, given that he had deeply accessed her soul and had seen not only her memories but also felt many of her emotions.
He felt a strange connection to her, and he believed this was largely due to that fact.
Not having interacted personally with her wouldn't stop him from continuing, given that he had delved into her mind.
But even so, he didn't feel comfortable with it. He had also delved deeply into Maki's soul, and unlike Mai, he had already liked her before.
Being involved with Maki's sister… No matter the justifications, he would still feel bad about himself.
But… This feeling, this desire not only from his body but from his soul, which had reached the deepest parts of Mai's mind, was completely at odds with his own mind.
"I want this."
Feeling the hairs on his body stand on end from her sweet voice and her seductive yet pleading look, Itadori pressed his lips as his body began to heat up.
'Screw it.'
And giving in to her advances, he gripped her waist firmly and pulled her close, sealing her lips with a kiss that Mai promptly returned.
The tension in his body, the frustration of having his precious memories altered, the weight of the responsibility of knowing the future on his shoulders—Itadori decided that after everything, he needed to release it.
It might seem like the act of a scoundrel, but the truth was that Itadori had never been a noble white knight.
He was a sorcerer.
