After speaking, Tiger Power Immortal stepped forward and said, "I had long heard that a high monk from the Great Tang of the Eastern Land had come to the east, and today, seeing him, he is nothing special."
Tang Sanzang tilted his head and looked at Tiger Power Immortal.
Sha Wujing telepathically sent a message, "Master, this tiger whip can be soaked in alcohol."
Upon hearing the word "alcohol," Tang Sanzang's eyes began to shine, and he raised his hand to point at Tiger Power Immortal and said, "Whether it is as you said doesn't count, come on then, I alone will fight you two!"
Deer Power Immortal angrily said, "Tang Sanzang, don't be too arrogant!"
Sha Wujing immediately sent another message, "Master, deer blood soaked in alcohol refreshes the mind, deer antler and chicken soup are nourishing, and deer whip also strengthens Yang."
While rolling up his sleeves to reveal his muscular arms, Tang Sanzang excitedly shouted, "Stop the nonsense, you join in too! Today this poor monk wants a pot to stew... ahem, to seriously spar with you all!"
The three immortals had seen reckless types, but had never seen such audacity, most importantly, they had never seen someone who was both drooling and crazed at the same time!
The bald man in front of them was extremely irritating, others confronting each other would stare eye to eye, but he, surprisingly, didn't look at their eyes. Instead, he stared directly at the crotches of Tiger Power Immortal and Deer Power Immortal, making the two of them feel their skin crawl and unconsciously squeeze their legs together.
Sheep Power Immortal was even more irritated, thinking, "You despise my family jewels, huh? Not even giving me one glance!"
Just as the three were about to erupt in anger...
The palace official came in again!
"Your Majesty, there are many petitioners outside the gate."
The King frowned and asked, "What do they want?" Continue reading on empire
The Grand Preceptor stepped forward and said, "Your Majesty, state affairs are pressing, shall we summon them to inquire?"
The meaning of the Grand Preceptor was simple, with the State Preceptor and the monk from Great Tang almost coming to blows, no matter who won, it wouldn't be good for the state of Chechi.
Since there were steps to descend, let's hurry down. Let these fellow villagers stir things up, and perhaps this deadlock would be broken.
The King, not sure if he understood the Grand Preceptor's intent, nodded anyway and said, "Summon them."
Before long, thirty to forty villagers followed the palace official to the front of the great hall, and before they had even entered, they saw people cursing at each other inside.
A three-meter-tall pig pointed at Deer Power Immortal's nose and cursed, "Deer Power Immortal, not convinced? If you're not, then fight my master! You don't even dare to fight, and you call yourself an immortal? Pshaw!"
Tiger Power Immortal angrily said, "Nonsense, Zhu Ganglie, you fart your mother's spiral fart!"
A four-meter-tall black man immediately pointed at Tiger Power Immortal and cursed, "Tiger Power Immortal, did my senior brother say anything wrong? If any of you had a bit of courage, were real men with that thing still between your legs, you would fight my master. Let us distinguish between life and death and high and low!"
Sheep Power Immortal stepped forward and said, "Sha Wujing, if you're not convinced, why don't we spar first?"
A monkey that spoke human language said, "Little lamb, we agreed, master versus master, disciple versus disciple. What? Scared to fight our master and want to fight a disciple? Tell me, if you can't even beat a disciple... hehe!"
Sheep Power Immortal was so angry his face turned beet red.
Seeing the villagers had arrived, the King quickly tried to intervene, "Gentlemen, please..."
Before he could finish, Tiger Power Immortal, Deer Power Immortal, Sheep Power Immortal, Zhu Ganglie, Sun Wukong, and Sha Wujing all pointed at him and shouted in unison, "Shut up!"
Then they continued to curse at each other.
The King was instantly silenced; in that moment, he felt as if his face had fallen to the ground and shattered to pieces!
Outside, thirty or forty villagers saw this, and they were so scared that their jaws almost dropped to the ground.
Who were Tiger Power Immortal, Deer Power Immortal, and Sheep Power Immortal?
In the kingdom of Chechi, they were like living deities. Even the King would greet them respectfully. But now, they were being pointed at and cursed, which was simply defying the heavens.
However, what was even more unacceptable to them was that the usually divine-like three immortals were now throwing punches, alongside a pig, a monkey, and a dark-faced man, with spit flying everywhere, and not a hint of their godly demeanor remained.
Moreover, there stood a monk nearby, with half of his torso bare, constantly doing squats and waving his arms, as if he was warming up and itching to join the fight. Was this the same monk who used to be so honest and sincere?
The most outrageous part was that the highly respected monarch was actually being pointed at and told to shut up, and he did shut up.
The crowd of villagers was baffled. The scene before their eyes was overturning their world view, and for a moment, they even forgot to greet the King.
Not only them, but even the civil and military officials were baffled.
Usually, those three revered immortals, who they dared not even look up to, now looked just like hooligans...
That so-called accomplished monk from the Great Tang, more rogue-ish than the rogues, was ready to take on three at the slightest disagreement!
The villagers' world view was about to collapse, and so was theirs.
The King, massaging his temples, also had a headache. What used to be the solemn Golden Hall was almost turning into a marketplace!
The worst part was, he didn't even dare to speak out...
Only the Grand Preceptor remained calm, loudly saying, "Won't you greet the King?"
Only then did the local elders come back to their senses and hurriedly knelt to greet the King.
The King said, "Everyone, rise. Speak, what is the matter?"
An old man kowtowed and said, "Your Majesty, there has been no rain this spring, and we fear a drought in the summer months. We have come to request that the venerable State Preceptor invoke a blessed rain to relieve the people."
The King looked towards the few still quarreling and cleared his throat, "Gentlemen, State Preceptor?"
Tiger Power Immortal impatiently said, "What now?!"
The King said, "There has been no rain this spring, and we implore the State Preceptor to bring us sweet rain..."
At this, the King's eyes brightened, and he looked towards Tang Sanzang and his group, "Monks from the Tang Dynasty, do you know why I honor the path yet eliminate monks? It's because in the past when seeking rain, our monks did not bring a single drop, thankfully the heaven-sent State Preceptor rescued us from deep misery."
Hearing this, Tiger Power Immortal raised his head, looking smugly at Tang Sanzang and the others.
Tang Sanzang, with his head tilted, said, "So what if you can make it rain? Show some real skill and survive a one-on-one battle without being defeated."
Tiger Power Immortal's face immediately darkened, and he was tempted to fight this bald monk to the death.
The King hastily said, "Venerable Monk, I know you're dissatisfied with my treatment of Buddhism. If you truly wish to help those monks, then you need to prove your abilities. Would you dare to contend with my State Preceptor in a rain invoking contest? If you succeed in bringing rain to aid the people, I will forgive your charges of disrupting the hall and assaulting the guards. I will even hold a banquet in your honor, reverse the charges, and allow you to continue westward. If you fail to bring rain, well..."
The King didn't know how to finish that sentence.
Till now, he had realized that these monks were no ordinary monks, and normal soldiers were no match for them.
As for the three immortals, he also wasn't sure whether to rely on them, so he dared not speak too definitively.
