Journey to Planar World

Chapter 136: Charlie’s Powerlessness

Bubaigawara Jin, better known as Twice, wasn't the strongest member of the League of Villains, in fact, his fighting strength was probably the weakest. Nevertheless, his Quirk was the most troublesome of the League of Villains. Jin possesses the Quirk: Double which allows him to duplicate anything, including himself.

Not only useful for camouflage, this Quirk is also believed to be able to destroy a city. After all, there's no limit to how many times Jin can duplicate himself. With that, he could fill the city with his own clones.

Although it's indeed very troublesome, it doesn't mean that Jin is invincible. In the original work, the hero named Hawks realized the potential threat of Jin, so he didn't hesitate to throw away his hero integrity and kill Jin.

It should be remembered that heroes shouldn't kill villains, they only blame villains and surrender them to the authorities to be tried by law. Hawks was willing to get his hands dirty to eliminate Jin. From that fact, it can be seen how great the threat of the Quirk: Double is.

"..."

On the other hand, Charlie hovered above Tokai City, which was now enveloped in chaos. Screams of terror, the sound of broken glass, and the roar of destroyed vehicles echoed throughout the city. The smell of blood wafted, mixed with the smoke of fires that were beginning to envelop the streets.

"Damn it! Twice! That schizo guy!"

Suppressing his emotions to stay focused, Charlie used Spirit Arts to track Jin among the tens of thousands of clones that filled the city. He tried to find subtle differences between the clones and the original body. However, every figure he sensed was identical. There was no gap he could use to distinguish Jin from his clones.

"The characteristics of the Quirk: Double might be comparable to the Shadow Clone Technique, even the Sharingan and Byakugan can't find the real body…" Charlie muttered.

Meanwhile, Jin's ever-increasing number of clones spread throughout the city, attacking anyone indiscriminately. They smashed shop windows, flipped cars, and attacked citizens trying to escape. Tokai City had turned into a slaughterhouse in a matter of minutes.

"Don't think too much! Every second people are dying. Since I can't distinguish ontology and clones, then I can only destroy everything."

Charlie stared with cold eyes at the sea of clones below. He knew that letting this continue would only increase the number of casualties.

"Arc Rays!"

With a firm hand gesture, he used Spirit Arts to duplicate Arc Rays, Lefiya's energy projectile magic, creating an effective attack against such a large number of enemies.

*SWOOSH!* *SWOOSH!* SWOOSH

Luminous projectiles shot in all directions, destroying Jin's clones in large numbers with each explosion.

However, the number of clones kept increasing, as if Charlie's efforts were meaningless.

"Their number is unreasonable."

*SWOOSH!* *SWOOSH!* *SWOOSH!*

Charlie hovered over Tokai City, his body surrounded by twenty glowing magic circles that continued to spin. Each circle emitted pulsing energy, ready to be fired at any moment. He fired energy projectiles one after another, each shot aimed with high precision to destroy Jin's clones without endangering civilians.

Actually, that wasn't the limit, he could summon hundreds of magic circles if he wanted, but twenty was his limit to control energy projectiles to aim at the enemy precisely. If more than that, his shooting accuracy would decrease. He didn't want to fire hundreds of projectiles at once because he didn't want to accidentally injure civilians.

In the end, Charlie had to manually aim for the Arc Rays to hit the target, he didn't have the parallel calculation ability or supercomputer computing power like Accelerator.

Although Falna strengthened all aspects of his body beyond normal humans, but the brain was not included. In other words, his brain compilation power remained normal even after receiving Falna. At best, his intuition and reaction speed increased every time he leveled up.

Charlie was truly powerless against Bubaigawara Jin.

*SWOOSH!* *SWOOSH!* *SWOOSH!*

*SWOOSH!* *SWOOSH!* *SWOOSH!*

Energy shots exploded on the streets, wiping out groups of clones approaching families hiding in cars. Another explosion destroyed the clones attacking an old man cornered on a street corner.

Some surviving civilians began to notice him.

"Look! It's him!" Someone shouted, pointing at Charlie in the sky.

Because Charlie wasn't flying high, and the light projectiles illuminated his figure, people immediately recognized the mysterious white-haired young man who three days ago fought against the robot that was suspected to be an alien.

"We might still have hope!" Desperate voices began to turn into whispers of hope.

The hiding place.

The ever-increasing number of clones finally reached the outskirts of the city, the indiscriminate attacks carried out by the clones caused the hiding place to be attacked.

"I won't let you pass."

Standing in front of the barrier, Aishia extended her right hand towards the clones that were charging without fear of death. A faint light indicating Spirit Arts began to flow from her hand as a sign of manipulating magical essence.

*SWOOSH!*

Aishia fired a shockwave bullet towards the clones.

*BOOM!-*

The invisible attack made direct contact, and a sound that reminded the impact of a hammer echoed as the bodies of dozens of clones were sent flying into the air.

The force was enough to turn human bones into dust. However, the defeated clones turned into mud.

*SWOOSH!* *SWOOSH!* *SWOOSH!*

Aishia didn't stop her attacks, she bombarded the countless clones around her.

Fortunately, each defeated clone didn't have the ability to send the memories they experienced to the main body like the Shadow Clone Technique. If Jin knew the location of the protagonist and heroine's hiding place, he would focus all the clones attacking in one place instead of attacking people randomly.

Inside the hiding place, a tense atmosphere enveloped everyone. From behind the window, Ichika, Nino, Miku, Yotsuba, and Itsuki watched Aishia who was outside the protective barrier, standing proudly facing the endless stream of Jin's clones. Meanwhile, Fuutarou hugged Raiha tightly so he wouldn't see the scene outside.

"Aishia… Isn't she afraid?" Miku whispered, her voice trembling, her hand clutching the side of the window.

"She's alone out there!" Yotsuba exclaimed in panic. She turned to her sisters, her eyes full of worry. "We have to help her, she can't fight them all alone!"

"But what can we do?" Itsuki asked helplessly, her voice sounding desperate. "We're just ordinary people. Instead of helping Aishia-san, we'll just be a burden to her."

Nino, who was usually tough, looked worried. She bit her lip, turning her gaze away from the window. "Why did she come out of the barrier? This barrier is supposed to protect all of us, including her."

Standing next to Nino, Ichika crossed her arms across her chest, trying to calm herself.

"We shouldn't go out. Like Itsuki said, we're just a burden. Charlie-kun and Aishia are fighting right now, we shouldn't bother them."

"What are we doing? Just standing here and watching her fight?!" Yotsuba bit her lower lip hard while clenching her fists.

"Yotsuba, stop! We're all worried, but there's no point in blaming each other." Nino interrupted, trying to calm the situation.

From outside the window, they saw Aishia launching attack after attack, destroying the clones that approached.

Thus, the protracted battle continued.
