Journey Through Multiverse

Chapter 10: Chapter 9: Wolf Moon 1

The morning air was crisp as Lucian and Scott rode their bikes toward Beacon Hills High School. The town was slowly waking up, and the streets were dotted with students making their way to class. As they arrived at the school, they dismounted and began locking their bikes at the rack near the parking lot.

Just as Scott secured his bike, the rumble of a Porsche echoed through the lot. Jackson Whittemore, the school's resident star athlete and self-proclaimed king, pulled into the spot beside them. The sleek car gleamed under the sunlight, a testament to Jackson's carefully curated image.

As Jackson stepped out, he carelessly bumped Scott with his car door.

"Watch the paint job," Jackson sneered, his tone dripping with disdain. His sharp eyes briefly flicked to Lucian, sizing him up. After a moment, he scoffed, dismissing them both as unimportant, and sauntered off toward the school entrance.

Scott frowned but said nothing, while Lucian watched Jackson's retreating figure with a calm expression.

"Let it go," Lucian murmured, giving Scott a reassuring pat on the shoulder.

Moments later, Scott and Lucian met up with Stiles in front of the school. Stiles' excitement was palpable as he spotted his best friend.

"Scott! Lucian!" Stiles called, waving them over.

Stiles then asks Scott about what happened after he left. Scott hesitated for a moment, then pulled up his shirt to reveal the bloody bite wound on his side, covered with gauze and tape. Lucian's eyes widened in feigned shock.

"Whoa! What happened?" Lucian asked, concern lacing his voice.

Scott glanced at Stiles, who gave a resigned sigh before they both launched into the story of their late-night adventure in the woods.

"We went looking for that missing half-dead body," Scott began nervously.

"And I got bitten," scott said, his voice tinged with the fear from that night. "By a wolf!"

Lucian raised an eyebrow. "A wolf? there haven't been wolves in California for like, sixty years."said Stiles

Scott looking confused. "but I heard howling after it happened."

Lucian chuckled. "Careful, Scott. You might turn into a werewolf."

Stiles and Scott exchanged a glance before chuckling but there was some doubt and unknown fear in Scott eyes as he was well aware of his body now.

"Yeah, right," Scott said, shaking his head.

"But," Scott added, lowering his voice, "I did find the other half of the body."

Stiles' eyes widened. "Wait, seriously? Dude, that's huge!"

Before they could delve further into the conversation, Stiles was momentarily distracted as Lydia Martin walked past them. Stiles greeted her with an enthusiastic "Good morning!" but was met with indifference.

Stiles sighed dramatically. "Scott, you're dragging me down into your nerd depths. I've been Scarlet-Nerded by association."

Then, turning to Lucian with a grin, Stiles added, "And Lucian, if you want my advice, stay far away from this nerd life."

Lucian laughed, and the three friends made their way inside.

In English class, the students settled into their seats. Scott sat in front of Lucian, with Stiles beside him, leaving an empty seat behind Lucian. The teacher began writing on the board: Kafka's Metamorphosis.

"As you've all heard, a body was found in the woods last night," the teacher said, addressing the class. "But rest assured, the police already have a suspect in the case."

As the teacher continued, a loud cellphone ring disrupted the class. Scott, startled, looked around for the source. Lucian, using his heightened hearing, located it instantly.

Outside, sitting on a bench, was a girl—Allison Argent. Her phone continued to ring as she answered it.

"I feel so stupid for showing up on my first day without a pen," she said, her voice clear despite the distance.

Lucian's keen eyes followed her as the vice-principal arrived to escort her inside.

"Allison Argent," the vice-principal greeted her. "Welcome to Beacon Hills. I hope you'll be staying for a while."

Allison smiled politely. "We just moved here from San Francisco. A year was the longest we stayed anywhere."

The vice-principal led her into the classroom, introducing her to the class. Allison scanned the room and took the only available seat—directly behind Lucian.

As she settled in, Lucian turned and smiled, passing her a pen.

"Here," he said softly.

Allison looked surprised but smiled warmly. "Thank you."

Scott watched the interaction, a flicker of unease passing through him. His heart sank slightly, not nowing but he was feeling that something was stolen from him but he soon regain his mind and started his studies.

After School

As the final bell rang, Scott, Stiles, and Lucian headed to their lockers. Lucian's locker, by chance, was right next to Allison's.

"Hey again," Allison greeted him. "Thanks again for the pen."

"No problem," Lucian replied with a smile. "I'm Lucian Everhart, by the way."

"Allison Argent," she introduced herself.

Their conversation was light and easy, interrupted only when Lydia Martin approached.

"Love your jacket," Lydia said to Allison before turning her gaze to Lucian. "And you must be new."

Lucian smiled. "Lucian Everhart."

Lydia appraised him briefly. "Interesting name. Are you coming to our party on Friday?"

Before Lucian could respond, Jackson appeared, wrapping an arm around Lydia. "Who's this?" he asked, his tone cold.

Lucian introduced himself again, but Jackson's expression remained indifferent.

"Why invite him?" Jackson asked Lydia dismissively.

Lucian, sensing the tension, politely declined. "Thanks, but I think I'll pass."

Allison, picking up on the awkwardness, added, "I can't go either—family night."

Jackson smirked. "Everyone will be there after the lacrosse scrimmage."

"Lacrosse?" Allison asked.

"Football's a joke here," Jackson said smugly. "Lacrosse is the sport. And I'm the captain."

Lydia chimed in, "Three-time state champions, thanks to Jackson."

Then Lydia invites them to join her and watch lacrosse to which Alison heasisted.

Lucian glanced at Allison. "Why don't we watch the practice? It could be fun."

Allison hesitated, then nodded. "Sure, why not?"

As Jackson left to change for practice, Lucian and Allison followed Lydia toward the bleachers, ready to watch the team in action.

Scott, across the hall, leaned against his locker, his supernatural hearing picking up every word of the conversation. A mix of jealousy and uneasyness flickered in his eyes.
