__________
The table was gradually filled with dishes.
A plate was placed in front of each person, featuring a freshly grilled steak, dripping with gravy and emitting a rich aroma. It was served with mashed potatoes, sweetened with sugar and honey, as a side dish. The accompanying lunch box also contained a few pieces of soft white bread and a vegetable salad with various sauces.
In the center of the table were grilled fish, fruits, and corn soup that had not yet been served.
While it couldn't be called particularly luxurious, the nutritional combination was very well-balanced. The portions were generous, and hygiene was fully guaranteed.
Although the taste of the food prepared by Lilith, the succubus girl with the profession of "God of Cooking," was still far behind, it could still be considered a decent dinner.
'Is this the consumption level of Mithril-level adventurers?' Aya thought.
"Let us treat you to dinner this time." Said the female magician opposite, named Monica.
Aya had learned her name on the way there.
"If it were in another country, we probably wouldn't be able to eat this well given our status." Monica revealed, providing Aya with some concerning information.
"Oh? Other countries?" Aya inquired.
[Note- Right now Aya is disguised as a man named Levi.]
"Levi, you may not know this." The woman sitting next to Monica spoke up, "In the Dragon Kingdom, adventurers are treated very well. Stores like this offer great discounts to high-level adventurers like us."
As she spoke, she began to complain about how other countries, especially the Empire, treated adventurers.
Adventurers were fighters responsible for repelling monsters and should be viewed as heroes that people rely on, but the situation wasn't that simple.
As the ruling party, the government hated the existence of a physical group that they couldn't fully control. So, although adventurers' economic income was decent, their social status remained very average.
More often than not, adventurers were treated like temporary workers hired by the country to avoid paying for high-paid combatants.
In countries with the military power to wipe out monsters, such as the Empire with its "Knight" Legion, the status of adventurers was even lower.
Additionally, there were no adventurers in the Silian Theocracy, and the situation for adventurers in the Empire had worsened due to a series of policies implemented by the current emperor.
In contrast, the Dragon Kingdom lacked its own military strength and had a powerful enemy in the Orc Nation. The demand for adventurers was high, and thus their treatment was naturally better.
However, despite the policies, the number of adventurers in the Dragon Kingdom had not significantly increased. The reason was simple: danger. Adventurers in the Dragon Kingdom often fought against the Orc army, which posed a far greater threat than ordinary missions.
High pay came with high risk, which made sense from this perspective.
This young woman, who was about eighteen years old and a professional ranger, had come to the Dragon Kingdom because she couldn't stand the harsh policies of the Bahas Empire.
"If you're an Elite Steel-level adventurer, the situation will be different. At that level, adventurers are treated like national treasures, and their status and income skyrocket," Monica continued. Her eating posture was far more elegant compared to the female ranger, who was stuffing her face with bread.
"Our team has been in Mithril for a while now. We'll probably be upgraded to Orichalcum after just one or two more missions."
"Is that the kind of mission where you need our help?" Aya asked.
"Levi is so smart!" The female ranger said, but Monica immediately hit her.
"Excuse me."
"It's fine, it's fine. By the way, Sister Monica, how about introducing your teammates to me?"
The title "Sister" obviously took Monica by surprise for a moment.
"Okay, I was a little negligent in this regard." Monica stood up, a slight blush on her face.
"First of all, although Levi already knows my name, I am the captain of 'Moon Shadow,' the magician Monica Air. This is the vice-captain of our team, the priest Jasmine."
The girl, who had been silent for a while, nodded at Aya. Her face was hidden beneath a hood, but judging from her figure, she was likely very young.
'A priest, just like my main job.'
"I'm Darena, a ranger." The active girl introduced herself, "Please take care of me."
"Then, we have two brothers, Peter Ott and Miles Ott. They are the vanguard of the team, heavy warriors who specialize in two-handed weapons."
"Hello, I'm Peter." The man who spoke first scratched his head, "My brother has some issues, so I can't get him to say hello. I hope you can forgive me."
"Miles is just speechless in front of a beautiful woman, so don't mind him." Darena patted the big, strong man's shoulder. He was about 1.8 meters tall, but now he lowered his head in shame.
'Wow, this grown man's face is so red. Obviously, he's thinking about Camilla. Hehe, that's my daughter—how could she not be beautiful?'
Camilla had been distracted for a while now and seemed completely uninterested in the people around her.
'Could she even remember these people's names?'
With that concern in mind, Aya decided to speak up.
"Now it's our turn to introduce ourselves. She is Kali, the warrior, and I'm Levi, the ranger."
"Able to use third-level magic, but you're a ranger?" The other party asked, clearly surprised.
"I have confidence in the bow and arrow." Aya replied simply. The reason she chose the ranger profession was straightforward: Aya's first account had been a ranger, and she had a deep understanding of the class. Now, Aya also had the elf race's "Natural Archer" ability.
At that moment, Camilla suddenly tugged at the corner of Aya's clothes.
There was a slight look of confusion in her eyes, but Aya quickly understood what she meant.
She reached out and drew a triangle on Camilla's thigh.
This meant she should wait a little longer.
After chatting with the Moon Shadow team for a while, Aya found an excuse to leave the room temporarily with Camilla.
"Wouldn't it be a little weird for two people to go to the bathroom together? Never mind. What do you want to say?"
"Mother..."
"Ahem."
"Um, Master Levi."
"Go on." Aya motioned for her to continue.
"The room next to ours..." Camilla said, looking puzzled, "It's the daughter of the Duke, right?"
