Chapter 16: Chapter - 16
Jordan POV –
After the dust settled from his intense battle with Byron, Jordan stepped out of the Canalave Gym with a heavy but satisfied heart. The weight of the journey and his most recent victory filled him with a powerful mix of emotions: pride, determination, and an unyielding drive to keep pushing forward. His Steelix, now safely back in its Poké Ball, had been the star of the battle, and Jordan couldn't help but think about the journey that had led to this moment, standing triumphant with his sixth Sinnoh League badge.
The gleaming Mine Badge sat in his hand, catching the afternoon light, a tangible reminder of his accomplishment. He carefully placed it in his badge case alongside the five others—each one representing a hard-fought victory and the growth he and his Pokémon had achieved together.
Nine months. He had nine months left until the Sinnoh League. The thought sent a thrill through him. Some trainers might feel pressure, or even fear, with that kind of deadline looming over them, but for Jordan, it was fuel. He had plenty of time to train, bond with his team, and seek new experiences to sharpen his skills. And while he had achieved so much already, he knew there was still a lot of work to be done.
"Let's keep moving forward," he murmured, half to himself and half to his team, feeling the Poké Balls clipped to his belt. His thoughts drifted to the Pokémon he had come to rely on during this journey—each one so different yet equally committed to their shared goal.
He remembered the fierce determination in Steelix's eyes during that battle against Byron's Mega Steelix. It had been a true clash of titans, and despite his own Steelix's immense size, Byron's Mega Evolution was no easy opponent. But together, they had emerged victorious. Steelix had faced a worthy opponent and proved not only its strength but also its heart.
As he walked through Canalave City, Jordan's mind raced with possibilities for his next steps. He still had to challenge two more gyms to complete his journey across Sinnoh's Pokémon League circuit. His next destination would be Snowpoint City, where Candice, the Ice-type Gym Leader, awaited. Jordan grinned at the thought—another challenge, another chance to grow and learn. With Steelix and Infernape on his team, he had powerful allies with natural advantages against Ice-types, but he knew he couldn't rely on type advantages alone. Candice was known for her speed-focused style, and she'd be sure to test every bit of his strategy and adaptability.
But Snowpoint City was still a journey away. First, he would need to travel back to Jubilife and make his way north through Eterna City and eventually toward the snowy peaks surrounding Snowpoint. The thought of the colder, harsher environment gave him pause—he would need to prepare, and so would his team.
Jordan's hand drifted to his Poké Balls, feeling the familiar presence of each Pokémon that had fought alongside him through thick and thin. In his team was Electabuzz, whose electric strength had given him a solid advantage in several battles; Infernape, who brought fire and intensity to every battle; and Aerodactyl, who he'd been refining to provide both strength and speed in aerial maneuvers. They had all been through so much with him, and he knew he could rely on each of them to face the challenges ahead.
As he crossed a bridge overlooking Canalave's tranquil waters, Jordan pulled out his Map and checked his travel plans. His eyes traced the path from here to Snowpoint, and he thought about the training opportunities along the way. His mind flicked to the Pokémon Centres, training areas, and possibly even local tournaments he could participate in along the route.
"Every day's a chance to grow," he thought to himself, clenching his fist with renewed determination. He would use each battle, every encounter, as a chance to strengthen his bond with his Pokémon and refine his strategies.
He couldn't ignore the small thrill he felt when he thought about his recent achievement of controlling two Alpha Pokémon, Gyarados and Milotic. The memory of their first encounters and the work it took to tame them brought a quiet pride to his heart. Not many trainers even encounter an Alpha Pokémon, let alone successfully train and command two. And now, with his Giant Steelix, he knew he was making a name for himself—a reputation that extended beyond Sinnoh.
He wondered what other trainers would make of his journey when he finally entered the Sinnoh League. For a fleeting moment, his mind drifted to the future, envisioning the crowd's roar as he stepped into the League arena. But he pushed the thought aside; for now, his focus needed to stay on the road ahead. Snowpoint Gym and Candice were his next challenges, and he would tackle them with everything he had.
Jordan's eyes hardened with focus, his mind set on his goals. Nine months might seem like a long time, but every day would count if he wanted to bring his best to the Sinnoh League.
"Come on, guys. Let's make it happen," he said with a grin, glancing down at the Poké Balls on his belt.
With renewed determination, Jordan made his way toward his next adventure, ready to train harder, battle smarter, and strengthen the bonds with his Pokémon. Together, he and his team would be unstoppable.
Lily Smith POV –
Lily Smith sat in her study, the soft glow of the evening sun filtering through the window, casting long shadows across the room. A small smile tugged at her lips as she stared at the Poké-Tube screen, watching the final moments of Jordan's gym battle against Crasher Wake. It had been a week since that match, but the image was still fresh in her mind—the ferocity of his moves, the strength in his Pokémon, and the sheer determination he carried with him.
She leaned back in her chair, her thoughts drifting back to that week spent together. It had been a rare treat to have her son home for a while, especially with the way his journey was progressing. As the assistant to Professor Rowan, her duties were demanding, but the past week had reminded her of the importance of family. And as she sat here now, reflecting on their time together, she realized just how much she had missed him.
It was a unique feeling, this pride mixed with worry, that any mother would know too well. Jordan had always been different from the other children—focused, driven, and, from a young age, wise beyond his years. Lily knew this well, especially after seeing how quickly he rose to meet challenges, even those he wasn't yet fully prepared for. His success was no accident; it was the result of years of dedication and meticulous effort.
As the proud mother of someone with an IQ of 198, Lily had seen her son's brilliance firsthand. But even beyond his mind, Jordan had something else—something that her husband, James, and she both had known from the moment he was born: an inner strength, an undeniable will to succeed.
Her thoughts drifted to James, her husband, the commander of the Sinnoh Pokémon Rangers. She couldn't help but marvel at how similar her son was to him—how much Jordan had inherited not only James's intelligence but also his passion for the world around him. It was a trait they shared that often caused both of them to overwork themselves, to push their limits until they were nearly burned out. Lily had seen it in James when he was still young, just as she now saw it in Jordan.
But it was a particular week that stood out to her, one when they all spent some time together as a family after Crasher Wake's battle. She and James had talked late into the night, discussing the similarities between their son and her husband. The way they pushed themselves, the way they trained, and the way they both occasionally forgot to pause and take care of themselves.
"Just like you, James," she thought with a soft laugh. "Always burning the candle at both ends."
Still, she couldn't help but admire their determination. Jordan was doing something extraordinary, something very few had ever done, and though it sometimes exhausted him, it was clear he was just beginning to tap into his potential.
Her thoughts shifted to the new companion she had gained during her week with Jordan. The Drapion was a surprising but welcome addition to her life. She remembered the day they'd found the injured Pokémon, stranded and in need of healing. It had been a challenging day, but with her expertise and a little help from Jordan, she managed to nurse Drapion back to health. The creature had been wary at first, but there was a connection that slowly formed between them. Drapion was a perfect fit for her—a patient and loyal companion who didn't need constant praise, but could always be counted on when needed. It reminded her of her journey, one she had walked alongside James, but also of the journey she had taken with Jordan.
"I suppose you're missing your son too, aren't you?" she mused to Drapion, who was now lounging on the floor by her feet. The Pokémon's crimson eyes glinted in the fading sunlight, as if in agreement. Drapion wasn't just a Pokémon; she was part of the family now.
"Maybe your son can teach him a thing or two about balance," Lily added softly. "He's going to need it. That boy doesn't know when to slow down."
Her gaze drifted to the stack of letters on her desk. Among them, one stood out—an envelope from Jordan, filled with the latest "inventions" he had sent her. Her heart swelled with pride as she opened the envelope and carefully retrieved the items. A series of capsules—shiny and sleek—each containing something new. She had to admit, that Jordan's inventive mind never ceased to amaze her.
Dino Capsules. Portable homes, vehicles, and devices. Items that fit in a person's pocket, but could transform into full-sized structures. She couldn't help but marvel at his ability to conceptualize such things. Jordan's brilliance wasn't just limited to battling and strategies. It was also in how he saw the world—how he imagined a future where everything was within reach.
She looked at the Dino Capsule labeled "Home." She'd tested it, of course. At first, she had been skeptical. But when she clicked the button and the capsule expanded into a fully functioning living space, she was speechless. It wasn't just functional; it was beautiful. The way he had incorporated everything, even little touches like warm lighting and a comfortable atmosphere. It was as if he had designed it to be a perfect little retreat.
A little tear trickled down Lily's cheek, though she wiped it away quickly. "He's always thinking of others," she whispered to herself. She felt so incredibly fortunate to be his mother. Jordan had such a big heart, even though he sometimes kept it hidden behind his intense determination.
Lily placed the capsule back on the desk, then stood and walked over to the window, gazing out at the scenery beyond. She thought about the upcoming journey ahead for Jordan, and the challenges he would face in the months leading to the Sinnoh League. Six badges down, and just over nine months to go.
"Don't overdo it, Jordan," she thought. "You've got time. I'll be here, supporting you. We'll both be here for you."
In many ways, her thoughts mirrored those of her husband. James had long since stopped trying to control Jordan's path. He had seen firsthand how his son's spirit couldn't be tamed. But James, though proud, was also aware of how easily Jordan could burn out, just as he had. That was why, for the first time in a long while, Lily and James had spent this week together—together with Jordan—so they could remind him, and themselves, to take it easy and find balance amidst the chaos.
Despite their strong-willed natures, Jordan was still their child. Their pride. And though his future was unfolding in ways neither of them could have predicted, they both knew that whatever happened, Jordan was going to do things on his terms. That was the Jordan way.
"I guess I'll never truly understand the weight of his journey," Lily mused aloud. "But I'm proud of him. So proud."
She glanced at the clock—her break was nearly over. In a few minutes, she'd be back at the Professor's lab, handling research, organizing data, and keeping the region safe. It wasn't easy work, but it was important, just like Jordan's journey.
As she prepared to head back, she looked down at Drapion, who was now resting beside her desk, looking up at her with knowing eyes.
"Ready to get back to work?" she asked softly.
The Pokémon gave a low, contented growl as if to say, "Always."
With a last glance at the Dino Capsule on her desk, Lily took one final, deep breath. Whatever was ahead for her family, they would face it together. Jordan, James, and herself. And maybe, just maybe, Drapion, too.
As Jordan continued his journey, so did they. Their paths were intertwined, a shared journey of family, support, and unwavering love. And Lily knew that no matter where it took them, her son would always have the strength to forge ahead—because, above all, Jordan was someone who could never be stopped.
James Smith POV –
James Smith sat at his desk, carefully studying a series of reports about the latest developments in Sinnoh's wild Pokémon behavior. As the commander of the Sinnoh Pokémon Rangers, his job was demanding, filled with unexpected challenges that kept him on his toes. Yet, today was different. His mind wasn't fully on his usual duties—it was occupied by something that had arrived for him just that morning.
The small box sat on the corner of his desk, an envelope bearing the unmistakable handwriting of his son, Jordan. Inside was the Dino Capsules Jordan had sent him, along with a note explaining their use. As a father, James couldn't help but feel a sense of pride swelling in his chest as he carefully peeled back the paper to reveal the sleek, high-tech capsules.
Even after all these years, even after seeing Jordan grow into the remarkable young man he had become, it was moments like these that left James in awe. His son's ingenuity and brilliance had always been a part of him, but with every new invention Jordan sent, James was reminded of how far his son had come—not just as a battler, but as a thinker, a creator, and someone with a mind capable of bending the very laws of physics to his will.
His fingers gently traced the edges of the capsule marked "Home," and with a careful press of a button, the device expanded, transforming into a fully functional living space. The transformation was fluid, almost magical in its simplicity. James stepped back, eyes widening in admiration as he took in the intricately designed room—complete with comfortable furnishings, a warm glow from the lighting, and even a small kitchen nook.
"It's unbelievable…" he murmured, slowly walking around the space, marveling at how something so large could be contained in such a small capsule. Jordan's knack for creating things that defied logic and expectation never ceased to amaze him. A living space that could fit in someone's pocket? He could barely believe it.
A knock on his office door interrupted his thoughts. He turned to see his colleagues standing in the doorway, their expressions a mix of curiosity and amusement. They had seen the Dino Capsules he'd been sent before—news about them had spread like wildfire through the ranger network—but now that they were physically here, their interest was piqued.
"You know, James, we've heard all about these… but I'm not sure I truly understood what Jordan had come up with until I saw it for myself," one of his colleagues, Andrew, commented as he stepped inside. "This… this is incredible. It's beyond anything we've seen in portable technology."
James nodded, a proud grin spreading across his face. "That's Jordan for you. Always thinking outside the box. I suppose it runs in the family."
Andrew chuckled. "I've seen some of your past inventions, James, but this? This takes it to a whole new level. Have you tested the other capsules yet?"
James pressed another button on the capsule marked "Vehicles." With a hum and a quick flash of light, the capsule expanded again, revealing a sleek, futuristic car that looked like something straight out of a sci-fi movie. His colleagues stared at it in awe, their jaws slightly agape.
"This is Jordan's doing," James repeated, shaking his head in amazement. "If I didn't know better, I'd say he's going to be leading some sort of tech revolution someday."
He watched as his colleagues examined the car, commenting on its smooth lines and advanced features. But as proud as he was of his son's intellect, James knew that Jordan wasn't just a genius when it came to technology—he was also an incredibly gifted Pokémon trainer.
That thought led James's mind to the most recent development—his son's victory over Byron, the Canalave Gym Leader. James had received a message earlier that morning from Jordan himself, describing his latest achievement: he had earned his sixth badge.
Byron's Steelix, and Jordan's Steelix Pokémon, had once again proven its power, both in battle and in terms of its physical presence. James smiled at the thought of his son's Steelix, which, as far as James was concerned, was a marvel in itself. But what made Jordan's Steelix even more incredible was its size and strength—far beyond that of a typical Steelix. It wasn't just a massive creature; it was a formidable force that had helped his son secure yet another victory.
James's pride swelled once again as he thought about the battle. He had followed his son's journey closely, keeping tabs on his progress through messages and updates. But this battle—this victory over Byron—was a milestone. With six badges in hand, Jordan was well on his way to the Sinnoh League.
James knew how much this journey meant to his son. It wasn't just about winning; it was about pushing boundaries, testing limits, and seeing how far his abilities could take him. And Jordan was doing just that. But what was even more remarkable was how he balanced everything—his Pokémon battles, his inventions, his growth as a person.
James took a seat behind his desk, his fingers lightly tapping on the edge of the Dino Capsule that had transformed into a full-sized vehicle. He couldn't help but feel the weight of the responsibility on his shoulders. He had his work as a ranger, of course, and that was always at the forefront of his mind. But his son was quickly becoming a legend in his own right. As much as Jordan's path was unique and separate from his, James could see the similarities in their determination. Both of them were relentless in their pursuit of greatness, never content with mediocrity.
"Six badges," James muttered to himself. "And still nine months until the Sinnoh League. He's not stopping anytime soon."
As he thought about the future, his gaze shifted back to the Dino Capsule. He knew his son was ready for whatever came next—whether that was another badge, another battle, or another invention. Jordan had always been a step ahead, always challenging what was possible.
But no matter how far Jordan went, James would always be there. Supporting him. Watching from the sidelines.
After all, that was what fathers did.
James leaned back in his chair, a rare moment of reflection overtaking him. He thought about his journey, and how much he had sacrificed in the pursuit of his responsibilities. There were times when he, too, had been consumed by his work, pushing himself to the brink.
"I guess that's where he gets it from," James chuckled to himself, his voice tinged with both pride and a touch of nostalgia.
He stood up from his desk, his thoughts drifting back to his son's journey. The road ahead would be long, and the challenges would be fierce. But with every victory, with every badge Jordan earned, he was proving something—something that James had always known but never fully articulated: his son was unstoppable.
And as a father, that was all he could ever want. To see his child grow, to see him thrive, and to know that he was making his mark on the world.
"Six badges down… Let's see what comes next, Jordan."
Jordan POV –
After leaving Canalave City, I decided to move forward and go towards Snowpoint City and challenge the gym leader for my 7th badge, but since Snowpoint City is a bit far I will need at least 3 weeks before I get there as I want to train with all my pokemon before my battle and spend some time with all of them.
Most of my training happened in my {IW} with various biomes and also Making sure my Pokemon were in good health.
The next day I also got a message from Professor rowan on my own, which he had put as a suggestion to the professors on having a paid app for upcomingforrainers to know about wild Pokemons and anPokemonsown Pokemons anPokemons nodded and told him I was willing to sell the code to the league. And my mom had given me the number of our family lawyer – Jennifer.
