Superboy tore through the ceiling of the school's gym with a deafening boom, cape billowing behind him as his boots struck and cracked the basketball court.

Instantly, all attention was on him. Shadows surrounded the wide room, crouched on the stands, blocking the exit.

His focus however was on his friends—Miss Martian, Aqualad, Robin, Artemis, Kid Flash, and Powerboy—lay unconscious to his front, bound in glowing power-dampening collars but alive. That helped calm him down. At least enough to survey the situation.

Dr. Roquette sat tied to a chair to his left, her face pale with terror, eyes pleading with Jon to save her. Behind the scientist stood Speedy, an arrow tip fixed on Roquette's neck.

Jon searched for a reason in Speedy's eyes that would explain his actions, but found none in the Archer's blank gaze. It was as if Speedy was looking through him rather than at him.

Jon let the brief surprise wash over him, before finally shifting his attention to the idiot dumb enough to provoke him. His friends and family were a soft spot. For them, he sentenced a man to a fate worse than death. For them, he'd do the same thing again.

Fists clenched, his gaze locked on two figures standing before him and his team.

One was a striking woman with long black hair, her green eyes gleaming with cold amusement. She exuded control and menace, her sleek black combat suit adding to the aura of danger.

The second figure, however, made him tense up in caution. A blonde girl a fre years older than him. She hovered a few feet off the ground, her glowing red eyes, much like his own, fixed on him with a predatory intensity. Her presence radiated power like heatwaves.

'Solar energy.' He recognized the aura.

She was the only reason he hadn't blitzed through the shadows and called it a day.

("Jon…") Miss Martian's weak telepathic voice whispered, tinged with pain, before cutting out completely.

That immediately set him off and his forced calm shattered.

"Let them go!" Jon demanded, sharp with anger.

The dark-haired woman smirked, tilting her head. "Superboy, I presume? How predictable. You've arrived just in time to witness the inevitable. Allow me to introduce myself—I am Talia al Ghul, daughter of the Demon's Head." She gestured toward the blonde. "And this… is Kara."

Jon barely registered the name, his focus entirely on his friends. "What do you want with them?"

"They're alive, are they not?" Talia replied nonchalantly, her tone laced with condescension. "For now anyway. But their fates rest entirely in your hands. Surrender peacefully, and I promise their suffering will be minimal. Resist, and…" She trailed off, letting her smirk finish the sentence.

Jon's eyes narrowed. "I'm not surrendering to you or anyone. Ever."

Talia sighed, her expression darkening. "Pity."

She turned her gaze to the blonde. "Kara, darling, show him the consequences of defiance."

The blonde floated forward, her movements deliberate, her gaze locked on Jon.

He finally took a good look at her—her sharp cheekbones, golden hair, and piercing blue eyes. And given her Kryptonian-like powers, a memory stirred in his mind: the El family tree from the Fortress of Solitude.

She looked just like Alura Zor-El, his grandfather's sister-in-law.

His breath caught. "Wait… No… You're Kara Zor-El."

The blonde froze, her glowing red eyes narrowing dangerously.

"Don't say that name!" she snapped, her voice sharp and venomous.

'How?! This was season 1! Supergirl was only supposed to show up years later.' Jon was momentarily shocked.

But with too much on the line, he quickly adapted and calmed himself down. The priority was rescuing the Team. Preferably without fighting his Aunt.

Jon raised his hands in a gesture of peace. "Kara, listen to me, I'm a Kryptonian just like you. If I'm not mistaken, my dad Kal-El—he's your cousin. That makes us blood related. We're family."

Kara's expression twisted into fury. "Lies! My family is gone. Krypton is gone. My mother… my father… Kal-El—they're all dead!"

"Kara, you don't have to do this!" Jon pleaded, tensing up in preparation. "I've seen your mother's potrait—Alura—in the Fortress of Solitude. You look just like her. You're an El! Whatever the Shadows have told you, they're the ones lying!"

"Shut up!" she screamed, her voice trembling with anger and shaking the air.

Before Jon could say another word, she lunged at him with a bestial howl, her fist striking his chest like a freight train.

The impact sent him flying through the stands, the gym wall and out into the field. His body trailing a groove on the evenly cut grass.

I groaned, pushing myself out of the mound of soil as Kara stalked toward me, her red eyes blazing like twin suns.

"Stop!" I shouted. "You're being manipulated Kara! I don't want to fight you! You're better than this!"

"Don't you dare pretend to know me!" she yelled, cracking with rage. "You're no family of mine. Krypton is gone. My family is gone. And you're just an imposter, insulting their memory with your lies!"

Her words hit hard, but I refused to give up. Dad would be disappointed if I did. "You're wrong. Krypton may be gone, but its legacy lives on in us. You're not alone, Kara. You still have family."

"I said shut up!" she screamed, slamming her fists into the ground. The shockwave cracked the earth, and with grunt, she threw an entire section of the field my way.

I split it apart with heat vision, switching to x-ray vision to pierce through the smoke and dust.

Boom!

Kara's punch missed me as I took the air. She followed, swinging fast punches that grew faster and more brutal until dodging was no longer an option.

I started deflecting her strikes, gritting my teeth as the force of her blows reverberated through my body and pushed me back.

"You think you're stronger than me?" I growled, getting annoyed after catching her wrist mid-strike and twisting it behind her back. "You're letting your pain control you. That's not strength."

"I am stronger! faster, and better than you in every way! You're an ant before my power!" she spat, rage fueling her strength to the point she broke the arm lock, surprising me.

"Crap."

I countered by shoving her off and backing away.

She rounded up on me, face twisted with arrogance. "Ready to submit to the League of Shadows? The alternative is snapping your limbs and delivering you to Lady Talia as a cripple."

"You're really making this hard, Auntie."

Jon sighed. He couldn't hold back any longer. His reluctant expression gave way to a serious look. One that instantly stopped Kara short in the midst of attacking.

"Two of the things you said might be true." Jon muttered in a low voice. "You might be stronger and faster than I am. Hell it's expected, a full blooded Kryptonian has it easier than a half blood like me. but here's what I've learned while training and clawing my way up to this point. A lesson taught to me in blood, sweat and tears. The problem with great power: your weaknesses are just as strong as your strengths."

"You.Know.NOOTHING!"

Her eyes flared with heat vision, unleashing a scarlet blast that I met with my own, both beams contesting in a struggle for dominance.

"Looks like I hit a nerve!" I laughed, relishing in the pressure of facing a powerful opponent. She had more solar energy in her cells, evident in the thicker beam of heat, dismantling my own into splinters of red energy which struck the air above the school.

But a fight wasn't determined by who was stronger or weaker, but by who won and who lost.

(General P.O.V)

A massive explosion of bloody light lit up the night sky, followed by loud shockwaves as two gods collided at speeds too fast to see.

The battle expanded beyond the school compound, raging across Happy Harbor, the two Kryptonians trading blows that left buildings in ruins.

Kara's strength and speed seemed to have no upper limit, yet Jon responded with equal tenacity, relying on strategy and skill to keep up.

However the stride of the battle changed when Kara started adapting to Jon's fighting style and began pushing him back, confident she had won.

Unwittingly, Jon had been leading her on. And when an opportunity came he capitalized on her overconfidence and unleashed a blinding flash of light, using his Light magic for the first time in the fight.

The light flash caught Kara off guard. She cried out, her enhanced senses overwhelmed by the brightness.

Before she could recover, Jon followed up with a sonic scream-an attack he had copied from Black Canary's Canary cry. The blast of soundwaves rippled through the air and struck her with devastating force.

Ears bleeding, Kara collapsed unconscious while in mid air.

Jon caught her body before it hit the ground, cradling her limp form in his arms.

He sighed at the pained expression on her face, heart heavy. "I'm sorry, Kara. But you were too powerful to beat harmlessly."

---

Jon flew back to the school quietly, softly landing inside the gym, Kara's unconscious form in his arms.

Talia's eyes widened in shock at the scene.

"How?" she demanded in disbelief. "How the hell did you defeat her?"

Gently placing Kara down, Jon straightened, his eyes glowing faintly red. "Turns out your secret weapon doesn't handle loud noises too well. Maybe next time, train her to deal with someone who has more experience. Not that there will be a next time once I'm done with you."

The glow in his eyes intensified menacingly.

Talia crossed her arms, laughing darkly. "Was that supposed to intimidate me?"

Jon smirked, seeing through the false front she was trying to put up. "Intimidate you? No." His eyes flashed again. "That heat vision blast wasn't for you—it was for her."

Unknown to Talia, Jon had activated his x-ray vision, scanned the internal circuitry of Miss Martian's power-dampening cuffs, and when his heat vision had briefly flashed, he was remotely frying the internal mechanisms from a distance.

A faint hiss escaped the cuffs as they short-circuited. Miss Martian's glowing green eyes snapped open.

"Kill he-!" Talia's order cut off with one word from the Martian,"Sleep."

Miss Martian's voice reverberated across the gym with telepathic power.

Talia and the League of Shadows collapsed instantly, bodies hitting the ground like marionettes with cut strings.
