The question remains, Who has more favor of destiny?

[Aroa's POV]

At the end of the day, it's fate what decide everything that happens.

Even if Apolonia saw me dying to some low level grunts, my destiny could change with whatever step i take.

But Jack is different, his fate is more or less set in stone.

Even if small little parts change, the overall will remain the same.

When i first changed his destiny, and during his fall that got corrected by the gravitational pull.

Those were the moments when destiny identified me and detected it.

It wouldn't be so out of line if i wasn't able to change fate again, moreover, a fate that i already changed.

All of this said.

'I should've kept an eye on Jack'

I'm running as fast as i can with all of the injuries i recieved, not since the only bad hits i could've gotten were either parried and, well, the one on my hand.

I wring out the most of my hamon-reinforced legs, and I see him

Straizo, his face lacking one eye and being almost purple, but most importantly, his now only good hand reaching towards a knife in the ground.

"Nop"

I take a stinger out of my waist pouch.

And i throw it at him.

I've reinforced it with hamon, so even if he puts his hand to block it, it should pierce completely.

It does as i say, and the hand gets an injury similar to mine.

While the stinger pierces through the neck, destroying his traquea, or well his larynx i think.

He falls down with the force of the shot, leaving him face up.

"Now, where's uhhhh, what character can i made a comparison to?"

Kaneki? Only one red eye though.

"Wait, he's going to die!"

I follow the traces of destruction, my bag flopping to my side.

I go through the big hole that spans some houses.

And i find him,

Face to the ground, looking at his side, chest heaving up and down, each time more slowly than the last.

"JACK!"

I scream, and he tries to turn his head to me, to no avail.

"Oh hey there... So, you won huh?"

"That doesn't matter, what happened to you?!"

"Oh well, i slipped".

"The fuck you mean `i slipped´ , you're basically dead!"

"No wayyyyy, I feel so good i can't feel my body"

"That's not how it works"

"Details Schmetails".

"I should let you just die".

And that i did...

Not!

Of course I'm not going to let him die, but i don't really have a way of saving him right now.

Alright, first things first.

Let's aliviate him.

"Dude there's some morphine over here, take it"

"Sure".

I reach into my back and grab the morphin.

But my fingers brush against something a bit rough.

A solid thing, made of stone.

The Stone Mask.

"...yeah, this could work."

"what?"

I don't answer and i ponder a bit.

Yeah, actually no, there's no need to ponder, he's going to die, and already halfway there, the only other way to save him would be to let him die, and then turn into a vampire, then make him my ghoul or something, but that's basically the same thing.

Let's start by the beginning though.

I put the morphin through his mouth, sitting him up and making him pass it.

"Hey Jack, Do you want to live?"

"What kind of question is that? I just fought against a monster to live and you say that?"

"Just wanted to make sure..."

"Ok?"

"Alright, I have a way to make you better, but you will lose some things".

"Whatever, as long as it can help me get up and going, i'm in".

"Good, this is going to hurt".

"I just passed 2 morphine pills, how much can it-"

I shut him up by putting the mask over him, and touching it with my left hand, the one that was pierced by my senbon earlier.

The mask reacts inmediatly, and the spikes come out.

"MMPH!"

A muffled scream comes from Jack, and his body uses the remaining energy that it had to struggle to the left and right.

After a bit, the mask falls off, and Jack comes up to his feet with a jump.

He looks around for a bit, mouth open and his red eyes more shining than usual.

They scan the dark room of the house we're in, as if looking through walls and examining each and every aspect of the warehouse.

And they settle on me.

For the first time in this life, i feel fear.

I almost step back instinctively.

This is a different fear than everything else i have experienced.

It's not the nervous type.

Or the intimidation type.

It's just the `right´ type

It feels right to step back, my body and mind think that it's the correct option, that i shou-no, that i need to do it, or i die.

His eyes keep on piercing me, but i don't avert my gaze.

I feel that if i lose him out of sight he will kill me.

A bead of sweat falls down by the side of my head.

His stance shifts forward.

I prepare to jump...

And...

He falls.

He falls face first into the ground.

"I'm so hungryyyyyyyyyyyyy".

...

"What the...?"

What a way to break the vibe.

-100 aura btw.

"Im sooooooooo hungryyyyyy".

He repeats.

"Fine, fine".

I take out the knife that i barely used in my fight from my other waist pouch, and i do a small cut in my arm.

Well, i say small, but it's a 10-15 cm gap in my arm.

Obviously, the new injury goes in my left arm, the one connected to the hand that was pierced.

I turn Jack around, and i let the blood fall in his mouth.

Quickly recovering him, as he's doing 2 meter jumps by the time my hamon heals the cut.

"Haah..."

I exhale, looking back at the last 20 minutes.

Yeah, the fight only lasted around 20 minutes, so it's like 7:30 now.

Which is weird, since the moon isn't really out by this point, and Apolonia said that the moon was hitting my body, which was being inspected by Straizo

Wait!

I quickly go to check straizo's body, looking for the start of all my objectives.

I go through his pockets, secret pockets, the inner pockets of his cape/mantle...

And i feel something.

A small rock.

I tear the clothings standing in the way between me and the love of my life.

And there it is, with a small decorations around it's body, and a chain going out of the pendant where it is.

The Red Stone Of Aja.

In all of it's majesty.

"Ooooh!"

It's beautiful.

I'm not one to admire objects like this, but it really is beautiful.

If you didn't know how this works, The stone is said to be able to absorb light and refract it a million times which it then emits as a laser-like beam.

Making it incredible weirdly shaped.

I can't find a name for it, like, it looks like the stone guitarists use to play their guitar, but to the touch, it feels like every milimeter of it is belongs to another completely different shape.

It's just incredible.

Either way, i place it inside one of my waist pouches, the empty one since the needle i threw to Straizo is still embedded in his neck.

Wait, actually, let me put the stone in my pocket, the bloodstained knife in the pouch.

"Alright, we're all set".

"Nuh-uh we're not".

Why is he talking like that? Did getting so close to death got him high? Is he pulling a Gojo?

"Fym we're not done".

"We have time, now you're going to explain everything".

"Can't we do this back at the mansion?"

"You're going to sleep the moment you enter that house, talk now"

I can't even argue against that.

"Alright, fine, you deserve an explanation after all of that".

Long story short, i told Jack all about the supernatural of the world.

Vampires, Hamon, Monks, and i was just going to tell him about stand when...

"Oh, this right?"

He says, as i feel a weird presence in the air.

Something similar to when Apolonia summoned her Stardust.

"Dude how you have a stand?"

"I don't know, i just felt my body getting really hot, and then i stood up and saw him looking at the blue haired guy over there, and i told him to kill him, and that he did".

"Wait, wait, wait, first of all, describe your stand to me".

"Well, he's wearing a full suit, with a purple shirt and doesn't have a head, he's also wearing a hat"

Humanoid, fashion sense(?) and deadly, seems like a stand.

"Does it hurt you?"

"Not really, he doesn't seem concious or anything"

He says while walking in circles around the same spot, or well, i suppose that's were his stand is.

Well, this is good right? At the end, he won because of it, so it's not as if it's going to lose control, Jack isn't like Fugo, repressing everything inside him.

Whatever, let's just go home.

"Jack, let's just go home, do you want to go to your house or are you going to sleep over".

"I've already told my parents that i was going to sleep over, so let's go".

"Alright".

When we got there, we found Maria walking through the halls, doing her thing.

Jack's been getting along with Maria now, i wouldn't say they're friends now, but they're familiar with each other.

We both ate some dinner.

Recently I have been eating alone, as Jojo eats early, while my father eats in his room, when i question him about anything, he only says that `The events are going too fast´ and `I should let him manage this before anything´.

Weird, i just hope it's something normal that doesn't have anything to do with supernatural stuff.

Redundant, but it's necessary to say it twice.

Whatever, Now that I'm laying in my bed, Jack in the other room, I should check the quest.

Oh! The information is in my brain now.

That line about the indications of my reward is now fully comprehensible to me.

Well, the thing is that i can choose to get 2 rewards, one for task; or i could choose to get one reward for the completion of 1 quest.

Obviously, the rewards that i would get aren't the same level.

The one reward is like an S class item, while the two rewards are like one A- class and a B class item.

Well, that choice is for tomorrow, since I'm now too tired to do anything.

I have a lot to do tomorrow.

Let me think about that actually.

I should visit Apolonia, to follow through in my deal.

I should do something for Jack's newly developed sun allergy.

I should try to explain the trick i used to summon the chaleda uniform and the needles.

I should analize the quest's wording.

Oh god, i will be occupied.

Well, At least it won't be a boring day right?.
