Jojo's : A Bizarre Journey

I'm skipping school today.

I told Maria, and she told me it was fine, since school is just starting and whatever I'll learn there won't be that usefull either way.

Well to be more precise, she teased me, she teased me a lot.

Honestly, it's way better than getting questioned about whatever i talked about with Apolonia, or whatever i will do with my free time.

Then again, she shouldn't, but i thought she would be at least a bit interested.

Is this trust? Or she's limiting herself because that would be more than a servant is allowed to do?

Either way, i sprinted to jack's house and threw some stones at his window.

"What? Shouldn't you have your uniform on?"

"Dude, say you're sick or something, use your hamon to make it look as if you're feverish".

"Why?"

"Obviously to train. I mean, we're going to die in less than 3 days now. Let's prepare".

"Makes sense".

"Alright, meet me at the usual spot".

"Sure."

It's good that he appears to have recomposed himself a bit.

Or maybe he's just putting everything to the back of his head and waiting until we get over the dangers.

I should talk to him today though, it wouldn't be good if he had doubts in a fight.

"Here, catch"

I throw him a scarf.

We're already near the river and he's stretching, he knows that we're going to be more impulsive with our training since we have little time.

"What's this? My birthday is in 2 months yet."

I'll note that.

"It's a scarf made to defend yourself against hamon. It conducts it and disperses it better than the human body".

"That exists?"

"It's a scarf made of the dried up intestines of the satiporoja beetle".

"..."

Oops, he's looking at me weird.

"I bought it from an overseas company, i found them while i was going through some documents about the trades that we have with the Asian continent".

"..."

He's not believing me...

Well, I did say that i was going to be sincere with him.

"You can ask about this you know?, About Hamon, the Mask, the Masters, about anything really".

He thinks a bit.

"Yeah, Later".

"What if later doesn't come? I'm not saying that we will die, but won't having doubts affect you in the fight?"

"I want to think the other way, If i have doubts, then I'll just have to survive enough until they get answered".

Huh, i didn't think about it that way.

"That said, You should watch out too, What if you die and leave me with all this questions?"

"As if".

We went into stances.

While we fight, i think it's a good time to explain how we train.

Well, I try to multitask completely, so that i reach a point where most of my actions are instinctive.

Jack doesn't have that problem, his instincts are as sharp as an animal's.

So what Jack tries to do is the complete opposite. 

He tries to focus as much as he can, so that he can think about every move that he does.

Thinking too much, and thinking too little can both be a problem at the moment of truth, overthinking even just one action or not being able to think in your actions can both be a fatal weakness too.

That's what we're trying to improve.

I have to think less, He has to think more.

Seeing as how I'm still doubting some steps, some hits, some manouvers, i still need to distract myself more.

Well, it's a good time to explain my skill objectives, right?

As for the decisive blow, i think that i'm going to go for a heavy slash.

I remember reading a manga about dragon hunting, and in the manga, mc fuses energy inside his body, then fuses it again outside his body, to make a heavy swing.

I have a sword(Shortsword) and energy in my body, so i can definitly do that.

So, fusing energy is something easy, it follows the same concept as a scarlet overdrive.

Doing it inside the body is nigh-impossible though, and really dangerous if you can get to do it.

With all of the heat from scarlet, you would make your body an oven.

Even if you can endure the heat, your body would shut down from the energy overload.

The body makes hamon through the blood so you can't even focus the creation of energy to shut down only one part.

Even if you went through all of that, you'd still had to release it through your hand, and wouldn't be able to aim it, since it would shut down-

And i can't fuse it and change it's element, it naturally becomes fire.

Changing it's state doesn't work too.

If I change it to liquid, then it gets expulsed out of my body, that's the same way i do my dawn, just that i condense it outside my body, and then it acts like pressurized water.

If i want to change it to solid, then it first has to become liquid so that i can condense it.

If i do the change fast enough, then i can keep it inside my body, but then i can't condense the solid energy enough, and keeping it inside my body for too much time makes it really uncomfortable.

It's akin to having a really full stomach, but in every part of your body, since you store hamon, in every part of your body.

I think that the reason why i can't condense the solid too much, it's because it already has solid properties, it's not solid, but it's a step towards that state.

Anyways, all of what i've said doesn't actually apply to me.

It applies to Jack though, that's why I can't teach him this.

"Kugh!"

Talking about the king of rome, he actually hit me.

When any of us take a hit, we take it as a signal to stop for a bit, he tries to come up with new ways to use his hamon, and so do I.

I don't teach him because Hamon is too versatile for that.

I mean, if i had teached him how to do a Dawn, he would've done it, of course, but then he would be wasting his talent.

Why? Because he apparently has a natural dispostion to solid hamon.

He can change his Hamon from energy to solid.

While i can do it from energy to liquid.

We both can change it to the other two states, but first we have to change it to our natural inclination.

If i had teached him how to do a Dawn, then he would've forced himself to change his hamon to liquid first, instead of solid.

What was i talking about?

Ah yes, the heavy slash.

I have to thank the ravi for this.

I don't think i have mentioned this, but the ravi has many uses.

It helps me to use hamon with more efficiency, but more importantly are two.

First, it can store hamon in itself, to put it another way, if run out of breath, i can take hamon that i had saved up in my ravi.

Second, and most important, i can alter my hamon inside the ravi.

I can change it's nature and state inside of it, i can have, let's say, solid water-type hamon.

The characteristics conflict though, so it would break down when it's outside of the ravi, so it's rather useless

Anyways, my point is that i can fuse my hamon inside the ravi.

Then i just need to hold it while it gets to my Dawn.

And while it's in my Dawn, i fuse it again.

Then boom, Heavy slash.

Sure, i'd need to do this in like 3 seconds or my body explodes, and be really concentrated, but still.

"Jack, grab a scarf and hold it to your body, i need to test something".

"I'll grab your scarf".

"Yeah, yeah".

My training dummy gets in position.

So i bring my right hand with my Dawn summoned to the left side of my waist, with my left hand over it.

This was the position the mc who im copying uses to charge his slashes.

I look like a samurai about to unsheath his katana, but if it works, it works.

Alright, focus.

First fusion.

My body heats up quickly, i try to measure how much time i have and get to moving the fusion to my Dawn.

Jack sees the Hamon acting wildly and charges his own, preparing for my attack.

I bring a step forward.

I raise my hands.

Second fusion.

The Hamon flares wildly.

And I swing.

A downwards slash, perfectly accord with my sword knowledge that i gained from the vampire hunt.

A huge arc follows, looking like a fullscreen attack in a street fighter game.

Jack is protecting himself with the scarf, he jumped back and now he's 1 and a half meters outside of the range of my shortsword, but it hits him.

The scarf nullyfies a big amount, but the energy pushes him back a bit.

The energy that went above the scarf travels 2 meters more before dissipating.

There's a path in the grass where the slash touched.

There's silence.

...

...

...

"Dude, how?"

"I don't know man, I just thought that it would be like a heavy close range slash, not THAT".

"And how do you did you do it?"

"I fused Hamon inside my body and outside my body".

"Can i do that?"

"Maybe if you want to die".

"Damn".

...

...

...

It worked.

I'm feeling quite tired, and Jack's using me as a punchbag, but it worked.

The tiredness is mostly mental, but it worked.

My body feels a bit hot but, nothing more drastic.

I even feel like i can do that same slash 2 or 3 more times.

Btw i used the pose, but it doesn't change my power, and i can concentrate just fine.

It's all for theatrics.

Moving on, I kinda figured out the armor, but not really.

If i turn it into liquid, then solid, then i take it out my body, let it linger for a bit in the part i want to protect, i get a temporal armor.

For like 3 seconds when i first place it, it has a defense of like a hundred.

Then for the next 2 minutes of it's usable life it has a defence of thirty.

To compare, my normal reinforcement has a defense of ten.

It's basically a parry.

But it works, so that's that.

No big success, since it wasn't that hard

As for the ranged attack, yeah, that's kinda impossible.

There's a range limit to where the Hamon just stops working, stops responding to my will and desintegrates.

Like, 2 meters, but i can cover that with my Heavy slash.

In other words, you can't make arrows or bullets.

But.

If i follow the same principle with my heavy slash, then i should be able to make a vegito-like sword.

This was the dream from day one.

Now let me try.

We're taking a break so i stand up and face towards the lake.

"Jack, get over here i need you to measure something".

"Alright?".

There's nothing for like 100 meters or so, so it's fine.

Now let me try it.

Dawn in right hand.

First fusion.

I feel myself sweating a bit.

Second fusion.

My hamon burns in my dawn.

And instead of slashing...

I pierce.

Once again, it's perfect by my sword knowledge.

The sword suddenly expands in the direction i pierce.

It's like a flash of golden.

It reminds me of Gin's bankai, although it's not nearly as long.

Jack looks a bit surprised, but measures it with his arms.

He has to walk in water through sending ripples, but eventually measures it fully.

"How long?"

"Around 14 meters? 15 maybe?"

"Nice."

"Again, how did you do that?"

"Double fusion so, no you can't"

"God dammit".

Through small conversation and big leaps in power, eventually night fell, Jack left and I went to search for warehouse related documents in through my father's stuff

It wasn't too hard to find, as there's only one warehouse around here.

That kinda surprised me.

It's an old one, almost abandoned that's supposed to be demolished in a year.

That's where I'll fight.

Either tommorrow or the day after.
