Chapter 456: Am I in the Womb?
Chapter 456: Am I in the Womb?
Zhen Bai let out a soft hum, her eyes lingering on the necklace with a touch of nostalgia.
“Back then, I spent over half a month with Sister Linshu to help her purify her bloodline. During that time, she gave me this necklace,” she explained.
“She said that I was very much like her-both of us were trapped by circumstances beyond our control. But she was luckier than me because she met a good man.”
“Linshu was my only friend. I never imagined that by the time I regained my freedom, we would already be separated by life and death.”
Jun Yunshang handed the necklace back to her and asked curiously, “If I may ask, where did you meet the Heavenly Evil Saint Lord?”
Zhen Bai noticed Jun Yunshang’s eyes repeatedly glancing at her slightly bulging belly and couldn’t help but chuckle.
“Your Majesty, do not worry. This child is not his. I was imprisoned in the water dungeon by Yue Yingchuan for hundreds of years. It was only thanks to the Saint Lord’s rescue that I regained my freedom.”
Jun Yunshang let out a long breath of relief but replied insincerely, “I wasn’t worried at all!”
Zhen Bai tilted her head slightly, somewhat puzzled. “Isn’t Your Majesty the Saint Lord’s Dao Companion?”
“We don’t have that kind of relationship…” Jun Yunshang’s face flushed red, and she quickly changed the subject. “May I ask why you came here, Fairy Zhen?”
Zhen Bai lowered her head and gently touched her belly, then looked up at Jun Yunshang with a nervous expression.
“I would like to ask Your Majesty to take me in for a while, at least until I give birth to this child. In exchange, I can help Your Majesty improve the power of your bloodline.”
Jun Yunshang was stunned. She couldn’t believe that such a tremendous opportunity had just fallen into her lap.
“Why come to me, Fairy Zhen? With your identity as a Heavenly Leech Demon, there must be countless people willing to take you in?”
Zhen Bai smiled bitterly. “They would either kill me or keep me captive as a tool.”
“I don’t want to be locked in a cage again, nor do I want my child to become someone else’s tool.”
“I was close with Linshu, and I owe the Heavenly Evil Saint Lord a debt of gratitude. That’s why I can only rely on Your Majesty’s kindness.”
“If Your Majesty wishes to keep me, please spare my child. It is only a half-demon and will not be as useful as I am.”
She had thought long and hard before making this decision. After all, neither humans nor demons had a place for her anymore.
Once her existence was exposed, she would either be killed or imprisoned again.
She chose Jun Yunshang because she was a woman, had a demon bloodline, and was unafraid of the Moon Shadow Blade Emperor.
Since the Heavenly Evil Saint Lord and Linshu were not bad people, those close to them probably weren’t either, right?
Seeing Zhen Bai’s pitiful and helpless appearance, Jun Yunshang couldn’t help but feel sorry for her.
“Fairy Zhen, you’re too serious. You’re welcome to stay here as long as you want. Just let me know when you want to leave.”
Zhen Bai was overjoyed and bowed quickly. “Thank you, Your Majesty, for taking me in!”
Jun Yunshang helped her up hurriedly. “Fairy Zhen, you’re pregnant. There’s no need for such formalities from now on.”
Zhen Bai couldn’t help but smile. “Your Majesty is much less imposing than I imagined. I thought an undefeated empress would be more… impressive.”
Jun Yunshang laughed awkwardly. “Fairy Zhen, you’re a friend of my mother’s, which makes you my elder. How could I put on airs in front of you?”
Zhen Bai also laughed quietly. After a moment, she hesitantly asked, “Your Majesty, are you aware of the issue with your bloodline?”
Jun Yunshang was taken aback. “What issue?”
Zhen Bai hesitated before speaking. “Just now, I used my Clear Pupil Divine Eye to observe. Your Majesty’s Phoenix Bloodline and Flame Clan Bloodline are both of very high purity.”
“Logically, both bloodlines are of the Fire Element and should complement each other. However, in reality, they suppress each other, causing Your Majesty’s talents to remain hidden.”
If Lin Fengmian were to hear this, he would probably cry.
Although Jun Yunshang’s talent couldn’t compare to that of top-tier Luo Xue or the Jun brothers, she was still considered exceptionally gifted.
And you call that “hidden talent”?
Jun Yunshang hesitated and asked, “Fairy Zhen, are you saying that my bloodline power hasn’t been fully unleashed yet?”
Zhen Bai nodded. “Yes, I can help Your Majesty reorganize your bloodline power. Once that’s done, the innate divine abilities within your bloodline will manifest.”
Jun Yunshang clenched her delicate fists. Could she finally stop being a burden?
She solemnly bowed her head and said, “Then I must ask Fairy Zhen for your help!”
Inside the Twin Fish Space, Luo Xue asked curiously, “If the future hasn’t changed when you return this time, what are your thoughts?
Lin Fengmian smiled nonchalantly. “Then I’ll just kill him again. No big deal!”
Luo Xue rolled her eyes at him. “Stop being so flippant. If it still doesn’t change, it means that history cannot be altered!”
“Even if you come back next time to kill Jun Chengye, there will inevitably be an irresistible force that will stop you.”
“If his destiny isn’t fulfilled, he won’t die now. Even if he dies, some other power will revive him.”
Lin Fengmian understood this logic all too well, but he didn’t want Luo Xue to feel pessimistic.
“I won’t give up. If history cannot be changed, then I will deceive history!”
Luo Xue hummed in agreement. “Just play it by ear, and stop worrying about me all the time! Don’t let yourself die before me.”
Lin Fengmian nodded. “I understand. I’ll head back now. Let me know if anything comes up!”
Luo Xue raised Zhen Yuan, her beautiful eyes curving into a bright smile. “You pervert, I’ve had enough of you. Prepare to die!”
A blinding sword light flashed, followed by intense pain. Lin Fengmian’s eyes snapped open, only to find himself surrounded by complete darkness.
What the hell? Did that madwoman Shangguan Yuqiong really bury me?
Is this the underworld?
Why is it so dark?
He felt the sensation of water flowing around him and began to wonder if he had been reincarnated.
Am I in the womb?
He couldn’t help but reach out and feel around, just to touch a soft, delicate body.
In the darkness, a pair of glowing green eyes opened just inches away from him.
“You’re awake?”
A clear, melodious voice echoed through the water, startling Lin Fengmian.
He hesitated and asked, “Who are you? Uh…?”
As soon as he opened his mouth, cold water rushed in, nearly choking him.
A small, cold hand grabbed his and pulled him quickly upward through the water.
Soon, the two of them broke through the surface. Lin Fengmian realized that they were in a greenish pool.
Above them was a green cave ceiling covered in strange plants that emitted a faint fluorescent glow, illuminating the surroundings.
Next to him was a woman with long green hair. Her appearance was eerily familiar, as he had seen her not long ago.
He instinctively called out, “Zhen Bai?
The woman was taken aback, tilting her head as her green eyes narrowed slightly.
“You know my mother?”
Lin Fengmian was stunned. Mother?
It dawned on him that a thousand years had passed, and the woman before him was different from the Heavenly Leech Demon Zhen Bai he had known.
Her ears weren’t as pointed as Zhen Bai’s, and she looked more human-like.
Her green eyes didn’t have the same radiant glow as Zhen Bai’s; instead, they were softer, clearer, and more transparent.
She also lacked the shy, shrinking demeanor of Zhen Bai. Instead, she exuded a youthful and vibrant energy.
