Join Tang San and Get Xiao Wu

Chapter 17:  Chapter 17: The Second Martial Soul

From his vantage point, Tang San could only see their backs.

Meng Bei and Xiao Wu were sitting on the carpet, locked in an ambiguous position.

Meng Bei had Xiao Wu's long, white-stockinged legs draped over his shoulders, holding her delicate feet in his hands. Xiao Wu was bent at a 90-degree angle, her body pressed tightly against Meng Bei's.

The two moved together in a strange, synchronized rhythm, enough to ignite anyone's fury.

"Ah!"

Tang San's vision blurred as a rush of anger caused him to spit out blood.

His beloved Xiao Wu, the treasure he held so dearly, was being treated in such a humiliating manner.

Unable to restrain himself any longer, Tang San kicked the door open.

"You shameless pair! Meng Bei, what excuse could you possibly have? Die!"

Tang San roared with despair as a small black hammer materialized in his hand, swinging directly at Meng Bei.

Meng Bei and Xiao Wu jumped apart in alarm.

Tang San froze mid-swing, his hammer dissipating into thin air.

"You... you didn't... you weren't doing that?"

Tang San's voice faltered in embarrassment.

Despite their suggestive posture, both Meng Bei and Xiao Wu were fully clothed, their appearances neat and proper. It wasn't at all what Tang San had imagined.

Meng Bei's plan was proceeding perfectly.

As planned, Xiao Wu stormed out in an act of righteous indignation.

Slap!

Xiao Wu struck Tang San across the face.

"Brother San, I never thought you'd see me like this. I hate you! That's the last time I'll ever call you Brother San!"

Tears streamed down her face as she turned and ran out the door.

Tang San wanted to chase after her, but in the dim light of night, Xiao Wu's agile leaps quickly carried her out of sight. His injured body had no hope of keeping up.

Meng Bei sighed deeply from the side.

"Brother San, I told you there's nothing between me and Xiao Wu, but you wouldn't believe me. Now look what's happened. Sigh..."

He shook his head, pointing at Tang San, and let out a series of regretful sighs.

Tang San, overwhelmed with remorse, lowered his head.

"Little Bei, it's all my fault. But... your actions were so misleading! Why were you two doing that in the middle of the night?"

Meng Bei took a deep breath, feigning reluctance.

"Sigh, Brother San, since it's come to this, I might as well tell you the truth."

He began his carefully fabricated explanation.

"Actually, what you saw was part of a special cultivation method from my family. It's called Jade Rabbit Embraces the Moon. Xiao Wu's and my martial souls are highly compatible, and when we follow those specific movements, my soul power cultivation speed multiplies several times. The downside is that it affects Xiao Wu's cultivation speed."

"Because the method requires such... unconventional poses, we practice late at night to avoid misunderstandings. But clearly, that didn't work."

Meng Bei cast a glance at Tang San, whose face was red with shame.

Tang San hesitated but eventually nodded.

Though Meng Bei's explanation sounded absurd, he couldn't deny that the pieces fit together: Xiao Wu had no reason to betray him, and Meng Bei had no reason to lie.

"Then... what about the promise you made to explain everything by the end of the month?" Tang San asked, wanting to be thorough.

At this, Meng Bei activated his martial soul.

A powerful aura radiated from him as he revealed his soul rank.

"Thanks to my family's cultivation method, I've already reached rank 36. My plan was to push my cultivation even further over the next ten days and surprise everyone. But now... sigh."

Tang San could feel Meng Bei's soul power, far surpassing his own. His last doubts evaporated.

- *Reward: Second Martial Soul – Heaven-Measuring Ruler.*

Meng Bei's heart leaped with joy.

A ruler? That sounds impressive—definitely cooler than my original Snow Rabbit martial soul!

Though excited to test his new martial soul, Meng Bei first needed to get rid of Tang San.

Feigning exhaustion, he turned to Tang San.

"Brother San, it's been a long night for both of us. Let's save the rest for tomorrow."

Tang San, recognizing the polite dismissal, felt a pang of guilt.

"Little Bei, I'm so sorry for doubting you. I was too impulsive... I'll leave now."

He turned to go but stopped halfway, pulling out a bag of gold soul coins.

"Here, use this to fix your door."

Tang San scratched his head awkwardly before finally leaving.

Relieved, Meng Bei returned to his room. After ensuring no one was nearby, he carefully summoned his second martial soul.

A three-foot-long ruler of brilliant azure gold materialized in his hand, radiating an ancient and majestic aura.

Intricately engraved, its upper section depicted celestial constellations, the middle showcased mountains and palaces, and the lower end illustrated the earth's veins and rivers.

The ruler was breathtaking—except for the four cracks running through its length, dividing it into five segments. Though the cracks had been pieced together, they left a permanent mark, an eternal flaw etched into the ruler.

Suddenly, Meng Bei felt a faint disturbance in his bloodline. Someone was approaching.

Quickly, he retracted his martial soul.

Moments later, Xiao Wu leapt into the room.

"How did the plan go?" she asked eagerly.

Meng Bei grinned.

"Perfectly. Tang San no longer suspects a thing—and he even feels guilty for doubting you!"

He reached for Xiao Wu's hand.

"So... are you staying here tonight?"

Xiao Wu hesitated, her expression conflicted.

"Brother San trusts me so much. How could I... Hey! What are you doing?"

She slapped Meng Bei's hand away, startled to find he was already undoing her waistband.

Meng Bei chuckled.

"Xiao Wu, it's precisely because Tang San trusts you that you should stay. Otherwise, wouldn't that trust be wasted?"

Xiao Wu hesitated.

"Is... is that how trust works?"

"Of course! Now be good and stay."

Meng Bei gently tugged her shorts off, and soon, Xiao Wu surrendered to her desires.

"Brother San... I'm sorry," Xiao Wu murmured through tears, her voice laced with guilt.

"Xiao Wu couldn't resist... not again. But... you'll forgive me, won't you?"

Meanwhile, outside Xiao Wu's dormitory, Tang San stood vigil in the cold, punishing himself for his doubts.

"I was wrong. I shouldn't have doubted her."

He resolved to stand there all night, awaiting her return.

Morning came, but Xiao Wu never returned.

Tang San stood stiffly in the dew, his wounds reopening and drying again under the morning sun.

It wasn't until the afternoon that Xiao Wu finally appeared in his line of sight.

Seeing her, Tang San smiled in relief.

"She's forgiven me!"

With that thought, he collapsed into unconsciousness.

In his hazy state, one thought lingered:

"Wait... wasn't she wearing white stockings yesterday? Why are her legs bare now?"

He dismissed the thought as a mistake and drifted into darkness. ---
