John Snow is A Girl

Chapter 67: Meereen

The red lands will also been an allay if is it to succeed in becoming successful. Olivia travelled to Meereen for a meeting with Deanery's ex lover / soldier / city lord.

"I have heard of you. What brings you by?" The man asked her sipping the wine on that table. She reached out fir the glass but put it back down after taking a sniff.

"I want to help you make this place better so that I will have an allay nearby for businesses and general friendship."

"I heard you are doing very well on your own why would you bother with us? Our city will fall apart sooner rather than later. Everyone is just waiting to see it happen." The man said with less concern.

"Are you giving up?" She asked with an unreadable expression.

"No. But I am just a fighter, it may be my own fault this is happening."

"Do you know the story of a creature with seven heads?" She asked taking out a bottle of spirit wine and two glasses made of actual glass. She stood up and poured herself and her host a drink.

Daario watched as she stood by the windows watching the city below. "I will help you 'enforce' your queen's peace successfully by making this place strive under the new laws on non slavery. You in return will give me whatever I ask of you in the future."

These arrogant words made Daario's face scrunch up in obvious displeasure. "I will not enter into such a dangerous agreement."

"If you succeed here, you may hold enough wealth to be of use to Dany across the narrow seas. She will want to see you and ask something of you again. Don't you want that? I heard about how much you adore her thus is your only chance." This made the man reconsider. Not only will his queen be proud of him but he will be in a position to help her if a need arise.

"Whatever it is you as must be something that will not interfere with that my true queen request of me." He said with strong conviction.

"What do I have to do?" He asked looking a bit excited.

Olivia materialized a large paper putting it of the wall. "There is a piece of land in this area with enough space to grow a lot of food. That is mostly what your city needs, a way to sustain itself."

Daario looked at the drawing and laughed. "I know that place is where the three dragons like to sun bath. It is draw Stoney lands incapable of growing plants let alone food."

"I will clean it up and transform the stones back into fertile land. When this is done you you will need to hire farmers who will turn the soil and plant food." Olivia pointed at the drawing with fields and vibrant crops.

"Can this be done?" He asked.

"I can do it but this will become a strategic location for the city so it will need to be protected." She warned.

"If you do this, I can definitely turn things around in this city. The most these people are miserable about is lack of food."

"Good. I will watch and see how well you handle this task and if you do a good job them I can share some of my technologies with you. You can learn to turn some of the crops into flour and other long term food groups that will feed you for years even in tines of war." Olivia offered.

"Alright. This all sounds good but what do you really stand to gain?" He asked suspicious.

"I am building a prosperous kingdom and will need my neighbors to have wealth they will spend on my businesses. I want to trade with this city but it is not possible in the time being, not only are you poor but your political stance is weak." She explains.

"Where do we start?" He asked.

"Because of the previous stunt with the sons of the harpy I don't trust the people in this city so you have to make use of this. She gave him an empty book.

"This is essentially a contract. This page will have your signature and here you drop your blood." She said but Daario shook his head.

"No magic." He said.

"Do you think it will take anything less to clean up this mess? It is either you or the wise masters. Do you want me to make this deal with the slavers instead?" She asked him feeling annoyed.

"It's just that magic is unpredictable."

"But it had rules. Take this contract for instead. It is an employment contract. You sign here and you are bound by the employment contract. This is what you stand for as a believer of the dragon queen."

"Your employees will not in turn conspire with your enemies even if they want to. According to this contract they will fall and lose the ability to use their bodies the moment the take action against you." She says.

"Can it really work like that?" He took he book and the words written are obvious he can read them with ease.

"Yes. There is no hidden rules to this contract it is magic and it is binding. I can not trust people to do what I want so this is how we do things. This way you will be more assured and I Don have to worry about traitors undoing my work."

"This will not just make your city self sustained but over time you will all become wealthy. The world will know slavery is the past the real prosperity is in human resources." She declared. Daario couldn't understand some of the thinks she said but they all sounded good.

"You are different from what I expected." He admitted. But Olivia ignored him and walked to the colorful drawing on the wall and stood next to it.

"This space will be used for factories where your people will work. You need to clean the city up during this time relocate people according to hard work."

"Those who can afford good housing are fine but rebuild your city and give it fresh air. Start hiring people and pay them with food than coins."

"What do you mean pay with food?"

"I will give you food, clothing, medicine that you will use to coax your citizens to believe that Dany was really a 'savior' and not just a stray tyrant looking for free armies and to build a name for herself." After these words slipped out Daario stood up in anger.

"What did you say?" He walked in her direction but then felt as if a heavy mountain rested on her shoulder. He slammed on the ground with his knees hitting the floor heavily.

His cup fell on the ground his hands on the ground trying to hold himself to not lay flat on the floor. A sigh sounded from above him. Then that terrible pressure on his body disappeared.

"My apologies my temper has never been good. Try not to approach me with a menacing aura like that next time I may take away your legs." She walked and stood in front of him.

Her hand touched his lowered chin and pulled it to make him face her. She looked at his good looking face with deep purple eyes, her lips turned into a doting smile.

"I am very good to my friends. Let's not make this awkward with violence shall we? You stand to gain more than I in this deal, try not to displease me Mr. Daario. Can you do that?" She spoke with a soft voice although she is partly threatening him.

"I can assure you no harm. I will speak however I want about whoever I want and you may not like it but threatening me will only make me excited in a way that will result in your death which will be a shame since I will have to find someone else to run this city."

"Are we in agreement?" Her warm hand still on his chin, he can't think straight with those jewels eyes looking straight at him but he nodded. Seeing his agree she smiled and it dazzle him. She is really beautiful. That skin looks so soft but he knows she is strong.

She let go of him. "You may stand I know I am not the one whom you kneel for." She jokes.

"You have seen the structure of this place. How can I clean it up? It is full, dirty and old." He decided to get back to topic.

"Build a new residential place for your citizens and then demolish the old places replacing it with something clean." She suggested.

"We have plenty of sea waters here but not much fresh water." He interject. Construction needs water.

"I can help but first I need to see your sincerity about our deal." Olivia said suddenly. He knew this means she wants something from her.

"I'm listening."

"I recently opened a school both in the red lands and the north across the sea. Let those willing to migrate with their children join my kingdom in a temporary arrangement. Their children will go to school and give me those with knowledge to contribute to my schools."

"Temporary?"

"In the future you will need them to rebuild and shape this place and by then I would have learned all they have to offer through my own people. Of course they will be allowed to stay if they wish to." She concluded.

"Alright. Currently they are wasted here anyway. About the housing you suggested?"

"I can build you one building." She relented. They concluded the details of their contract and Olivia went to the red lands.

There is no need to bother with making resorts and tourists spot in this place since it is a place surrounded by enemies and hostile forces. So Olivia will slowly make friends and show the world her kingdom is strong.

When she departed Daario stood on the spot looking at the numerous supplies in the warehouse. The new allay has left him a lot of food, warm clothing, bedding and tools.

The first thing is to get all the second sons who remained by his side to sign the magic book and then begin the cleansing of the city. All those willing to work with the city management were allowed to receive food for a week and warm clothing of a certain value.

The weather is getting very chilly these days and their usual flamboyant clothing styles is becoming useless to block the cold. These clothes are worth a lot in a time time this.

A week later the city that had seem to be on the verge of conflict became stable. A new compensation plan was drawn out for the soldiers who will patrol and guard the city.

In the old times they would receive little but now they are told they will receive twice that and a family home in the new residential housing.

A new law was passed. All those worshipping the harpy with all its laws may leave the city to Yunkai. Several ships were provided and to Daario's surprise there are at least several thousand people who were willing to leave and be able to warship their God freely in Yunkai.

This freed up the city somewhat. Many people were shipped off to Yunkai and the old Ghis structures of the harpy were removed. The temples were turned into normal places that will be used fir other things in the future.

Daario is not a politician and without a council who will second guess his decisions making his plans take more time to be executed. He attacked the problem at its core and aimed to remove it altogether.

When Olivia came over riding Morpheus she found the man looking much better than before. "Let's make haste." She said and Daario also wanted to see her magic.

They left on foot as Morpheus flew ahead. Daario is shocked at the size and overall figure of the black dragon.

"That is a mighty being." He exclaimed.

"Yes she is. So what made you so happy?" She asked as he took he to the dry lands east of the city.

"All the 'grace' priestesses and other worshipers of the Ghis God were expelled from the city. Hopefully there will be piece as long as the plan to feed the city is successful."

"Congratulations." The first thing Olivia did was to put her hand on the ground and the rocky place in an area of 100 miles became fertile soil. This is easier than cleaning out death aura from the land.

It took a few minutes and the place was surrounded by a stone wall 30 meters height and around 10 meters thick. "This is to protect the food from insidious people. You know everyone is waiting for the previously wealthy Meereen to die slowly in hunger and internal strife."

She connected the underground fresh water to a place where a large fresh water lake was collected in rapid speed. "You have land, you have water and now.." She gave him a bag "You have seeds. Let's go to the four other places to do the same and then the rest will be on you."

"Thank you." Daario is moved to tears seeing a way out of a previous desperation situation.

"I have thought of something. We can demolish these numerous temples and turn them into luxurious residential buildings." Olivia offered and Daario has no objections.

After there are suddenly five places with fertile land to plant food, the citizens were hired to work and given good and clothing fir payment since that is what they lack at the moment.

Meantime Daario and Olivia are working hard to design and construct new residential buildings. These worshipping temples were previously occupied by the thousands of the people who have now left the city.

"This is a bit ambitious don't you think?" Daario asked but Olivia shook her head.

All these pointy temples are a sign of slavers. We must build something opposite to the structures of the Harpy worshipping people. Something empowering or at the very least something representative of a promise.

These will not only be housing but also a place of safety for the free men and women. We will offer comfort and hope that their children will forever hold their own future themselves." She didn't realize when her eyes became very soft as if coaxing a child to sleep.

The gentle tone us not something Daario had expected from such a powerful person. He felt his heart thump in his chest.

"In any case the designs are fantastic and I will not regret them. If you are against this design we van go with something less grand." She said coming back to her senses.

"No this is alright, thank you for your hard work." Daario cleared his throat and said.

"That's good. You do know there is a price fir me doing all these right? Your will have to pay me a substantial amount of coins in the next few decades."

"I know." He said. She had repeatedly told him this.

"Good." She waved and the first temple started to fall apart. All the materials like stone and tiles went into Olivia's soul space. When the place has been stripped bare of all the stones there is a large whole there.

A slight movement hade the ground organize itself into a deep foundation. Metal pipes for the sturdiness of the building followed organizing themselves into a large metal structure. Then she burned the mental into sticking together. The stones from before came flying from her space and mended itself into the metal pipes structure.

The building is simple with a massive square shape. The floors appear one by one with the water pipes blending into a complete water system. Every flat has a bathroom with a toilet, sink, a bathing tub made from stone and the water pipes ready for taps and shower caps to the out on top for easy access.

Every floor has five to ten families homes that can accommodate up to

After every two floors is a set of different floors from the rest. Like a hall, a set of public bathing place with showers separated by a thin wall. A series of public toilets. Incase a family has plumbing issues they have still have access to a a bathroom.

One floor has a large pool and a changing room. The giant building was completed in three days only because Olivia wanted to make the floor look like marble floor with molten stone.

"This is amazing!" Daario is so exited. The building has floor to ceiling windows in some flats. When Daario saw it he became amazed that someone would make use of the expensive indestructible glass like this.

I had the few lower floors installed with the lighting system she has in her kingdom and told him to install the rest himself. The first building was allowed have occupants as soon as the fitted cardboard system was installed.

This building elevated the status of all those who would live there. Daario let his guards and those who remained by his side when others betrayed Deanerys stay in this beautiful building with water and lights.

When others heard the new building that would light up a part of the city at night is available for rent to those with good income, they flocked to ask for a job opportunity from the city management.

This is exactly what Daario and Olivia were hoping for. Many got positions as farmers right away and they immediately turned around and applied for a place to stay in the new building.

This one building can house around three thousand humans. Only half of the hired people were able to successfully snatch a place in the new building. The new place came with cooking warm stoves with oven making life very easy.

12 temples were demolished and replaced with beautiful high rise buildings who seem to be covered with glass in less than two months. Tens of warm stone oven stoves were moved into the building along side thousands of lights and water pipes used in the construction.

By the end of this endeavor, Meereen owes a substantial amount of gold coins to the flame kingdom. Many residents are farmers, soldiers and small businesses men in the city.

The number of soldiers training to defend the city increased to 12 thousand from some new people who had run away from Astapor and Yunkai. The situation stabilized a few months later. The city grew food, collected it and then distributed it back to the people for labor and services to the city.

Olivia made good on her promise and let them learn to can some of the food and make flour and other food groups that take longer to become stale.

Even though the weather is cold these days it is not as cold at the weather in Westeros. With clothing and bedding from the red lands, locals can still go out to work.

The food produced became plentiful that it could be sold to others. Merchants came to take a look and found the place had gone through several changes the obvious of which is the absence of several Ghis God temples and the new elegant buildings in their place.

They found food for sale instead of slaves and all those selling slaves were condemned and their slaves taken inside to be freed and put to work later.

The new water system allows for cleaner and plentiful water which also surprised the visitors. Thought the sale of the abundant food, Meereen became a city worth some wealth again especially since the Merchants kept coming back for more food.

The free cities are in trouble when it came to growing their own food which is why there are disputed lands under demand all the time. Rive became the main source of income since the free cities liked it very much.

The wealth kept pouring in and then paying Oliva. It will take a few years fir them to be able to store their own earnings in their vaults.
