John Snow is A Girl

Chapter 56: Loan

"Your people haven't seen you in four years and when you come back to lock yourself in your castle. Everyone is speculating about your health." Anna said when she was called by Olivia.

"Still. To have gone ahead with this sort of thing without my permission.." Olivia looked at Anna who shivered in fright.

"It was a joint effort." Faith said standing in front of Anna. Olivia narrowed her eyes.

"Go away. Both of you before I turn you two into cats." They ran away giggling because they k ow she forgives them.

She knows she has been a little isolated as of late, this is just their way of bringing her and her subjects together. But Olivia is still going to cancel this feast arrangement because there are too many places in need of food allocation right now. She can not make a feast in case they are in short supply of some food.

"May I come in?" Robb asked from outside her office.

"If I say no, will that stop you?" She asked with a lazy tone.

"Where are your dragons?" Robb walked in looking around.

"In their caves."

"I see." He entered but Morpheus and Aeryn appeared right in front of him. Scaring him to stumble abit.

"Hahahaha.." Olivia laughed at his clumsiness.

They also released soft chuckles at his expense. "You have seen them. Are you happy?"

"Anyway can I talk to you?" Robb changed his expression to a serious one.

"Take a seat." She sat behind her desk and gave him her full attention.

"Can you borrow the Starks a considerable amount of gold. I want to build three Castles." Inwardly he wished to have resources enough to build a wall around his kingdom like Olivia had done.

"Why not the Iron bank?" She asked him with a curious gaze.

"I'd rather owe you than the Iron bank. There are too many refugees from the south so I would like to house them in the lands I am to build the two Castles." He doesn't want to say he is doing it for strategic reasons lest she charges more interest seeing he is desperate.

"If you are overwhelmed send them here. We could use the labor." Olivia offered.

"You are expanding?" Rob is surprised.

"There are no longer any wildlings or night king I am finally the ruler of these lands. Of course I am going to expand." She said it like it should be obvious.

"You really love building. But isn't this place more desolate than my lands?"

"Not anymore." She smiled brightly.

"What does that mean?"

"We can grow our own food now. These lands will be very fertile from now on."

"I would also like to buy the warm stone and your concrete powder for construction."

"With stones and sticks?" She ridiculed.

"If you'd take them. But I was going to use the coins you are going to borrow me. I could also use the labor force so I will keep the people." He said but Olivia scoffed.

"If I am not wrong, there were many immigrants when your father was still alive and you couldn't house them so they made informal villages like the ones we demolished back then. If you couldn't build proper houses for them, how are you going to house new arrivals?" Olivia asked but Robb didn't answer.

Then she turned to the door "Why don't you enter Princess?" She said to the person listening in the conversation.

Sansa entered as Olivia showed her the chair. "Now, where were we?" She asked Robb who pretended to not mind Sansa's presence.

"Anyways I need them and your loan." Robb sasid with finality.

"You can feed your people now but if you incur debts how are you planning on paying it back?" She folded her arms and asked.

I have more than enough food if you mist know and if we use previously unused lands we will have more space to build glass houses." It makes sense. Olivia has a lot of money with the iron bank but it is hers and her kingdom. She already gave a lot to the south during her childhood.

Loans are another way of making money. "How much?" She asked knowing he will state an amount above the minimum cost of his needs.

"20 thousand." Robb said getting ready to negotiate.

Olivia didn't answer him and quickly drew a contract. He will have a limit of three years to return a the gold coins back if he takes longer than that, an interest will be charged on the remaining principal amount every month. This seems very generous but Olivia is aware of their assets and the factories they have there to make money. It will be very hard for them to repay it in three years. If they don't return it in six years, Olivia may repossess the castles built using her gold.

"This is generous. A bit harsh in the end but generous." Robb signed the contract they will recieve the gold in a week.

She studied him for a long time before asking. "You put on your gift?" This question surprised Robb but only for a moment before he chuckled.

"Yes." He readily admitted.

"I was worried you would give up after failing once. There could still be hope for you yet, Stark." She let go of his chin and went back to her desk.

"You would give it to me just like that?" He raised the contract.

"Yes. Just like that, now when are you leaving?" She asked serious.

"Father always said you preferred to be left alone." Robb said softly.

"It is the burden of being genius." She said simply.

"I am staying here for a while I'm afraid. My wife, she grows wary of the odd stares and scornful glances in the castle. She says the last time she felt at peace was when you abducted her and put her here under 'house arrest' I wanted to see just how peaceful is it here that it has seduced my wife." He grumbled.

"Oh dear, are you jealous? I was always a better wolf than you Stark." Olivia smirked at him.

"Careful now Snow.." He glared at her.

"Cough cough.." Sansa seeing their bickering tried to get their attention.

"Please don't spread whatever Southerner diseases you carry with you princess." Olivia showed a disgusted look. Sansa became stunned.

"Come on, say why you came to my office Princess." Olivia gestured for her to speak but she seemed out of it.

"I am not sick." She said sharply.

"I'm aware dear, I was only joking with you. Now what do you want?" Olivia asked.

"Can we talk in private?" She said and Robb took it as it time to go see his wife.

When he left Olivia opened a cabinet with clean glass and took two out. "Are you a sweet wine kind of girl or you like the strong stuff?"

"I don't drink." Sansa said sternly.

"I thought you may drink more than most. To quiet down the voices." She pointed at her head.

"I am not mad." Sansa said but Olivia chuckled.

"We are all mad little bird. It is the normal ones we should watch out for. They are the freaks." She smiles.

"I want you to be in an alliance with the North. With Robb." Sansa says cutting off Olivia's small talk.

"Is that what the voices say? That I am a threat to his rule as long as I remain loose and out of the fold?" She smirked seeing Sansa's reaction to her words.

"What?!" It's as if her thoughts are out in the open.

"You see, this is why you should drink. When you over think things it does more harm than good. You are a princess now, enjoy the ride and focus of finding something to make you happy like a puppy or tending to a small garden." It is obvious she is being dismissed here.

"Oh my god do you ever shut up!" Sansa turned to the cabinet and pulled out the vodka and poured a small amount on the glass and drank it all in one go. Breathing heavily she turned to Olivia with horror on her face. "Sorry."

"I was trying to annoy you. Hehe.." Olivia took back the bottle.

"Well it worked. Who the fuck says tend to a garden to quiet down the voices? What voices?" She poured another drink.

"How is this alliance you are proposing anyways?"

"Marriage. You are not siblings just cousins."

"Let me stop you right there. Look around you. Do you think all this just happened? When I came here it was just a forest and soil. I didn't sleep a wink for two months to construct a wooden wall around the chosen construction sight." She was laughing a moment ago but now she has a look of distaste on her face.

"This place is my home. I didn't buy it with money, I didn't win it in a gambling bet. I didn't even inherit it. I molded it brick by brick stone by stone. My breath is in every corner of this city."

"It shows too. Look at it, it's a silent beauty not the kind to attract your attention the second you lay eyes on her, she has beauty that draws you in and then holds your heart with an iron grip. This place is not a tool for your southern politics and games of intrigue. It is my home and my home it shall remain." Her tone harsh and unyielding.

"It is still in the north. This two countries in one place will not work forever no matter how many walls you build. Unite the north under one king like it was always meant to be." Sansa didn't back down.

"That wall is not there to protect me from you." She walked around her desk and pinned Sansa with a hard stare.

"It is there to protect you from me." Her powers shook the castle. This is not something that has happened before. She massaged her forehead in annoyance. Chuckling she took the bottle away from Sansa and poured herself a full glass.

"Southerners, all you know is to inherit or take what others have inherited. To come here and tell me what to do with my home is a very selfish thing to do. Let me guess, your mommy told you that you are lady so and so everyone should bow and kiss your feet. You think it's not right for a bastard like me to have such a nice place?"

"You are not a bastard." Sansa argued.

"I am, just as you will always be lady Stark of Winterfell. A bunch of old man call your brother a king to further their own agenda and you think you're royals? What can be given, can be taken lady Stark. If I hear anything about me being some loose wildling I will cut your pretty tongue and stir fry it for my children." She did it. She made a threat. Sighing, she drank some more.

"Then you have a candidate for marriage?" Sansa is not the least bit scared by Olivia even when her eyes turn sharp. She somehow knows that Olivia will never harm her. Someone who was once surrounded by malace would know when they are being targeted.

"I will not bother marrying anyone until I find a man who can not live without me." There, she said it. They spent the reat of the night drinking alcohol until she had her maids take Sansa to her bedroom.

The next morning Olivia went to the council meeting to reassure her servants that she is alright.

"I saw the books. Arkar you must be the most happy with all the construction. You and Caine." She smiled when hearing their agreement. Olivia may not be run the city but she takes time to read her books. She also changed the routine of putting money into the iron bank now that she has space.

She let them put it in the safe inside her castle and then take it into her space. Before taking the money she has to read the books and then count it with her mental power.

Infact she will be withdrawing the funds from the bank little by little to have at least half of her mo ey with her at all times.

Arkar and Caine sell blue prints, concrete powder and other tools which is all in high demand in the kingdom during these times of expansion.

"How is the preparation for the school?" She asked Bellamy who seems tired.

"I will be the dean of the school and we have compiled the learning materials that will be taught in school which include sports like you asked. The knowledge taught to the noble children, trading, monetary management, medicine, seamanship and everything a kingdom needs to function. They will choose according to what they want to do in the future."

"What about combat and leadership?" She wants to nurture generals.

"That is the grand duke's second in command department. Those who with to be excellent military personnel will training here. The training grounds are being constructed as we speak. Like you asked, the elites will be accepted and only the best will be recommended for the royal army." Bellamy said.

Olivia is very excited to see this result. Currently there is not much she is required to do here so she decided to heed her dragons and go to check the massive wall they constructed in the red lands. She wants to start the healing process of the red lands.

"Can I see it? Your expansion." Sansa said walking in feom the shopping district her maids carrying many paper bags.

"Did you have fun?"

"Yeah, the variety is great. But the clothes on display like that makes people spend more. Anyways I heard you built a school to nurture talents? May I see it?" Sansa sat next to Olivia who is looking out the balcony windows at the children scatting on ice downstairs.

"That is a long distance from here." Olivia said not sounding interested at all.

"We could ride your dragons." Sansa suggested but the two snapped at her.

"They don't seem to like that idea."

"Aren't you their master?"

Olivia looked at her with distaste. "You think a real dragon can be tamed? Are you naive or it is me you think foolish? Anyways I am going to see the construction of the frozon shore harbor are you coming?" She got outside and made Sansa ride in front of her.

"Why couldn't I ride the other one?" Sansa asked.

"She said she would drop you 500 feet in the air if you so much as touched her noble scales." Olivia laughed at Sansa's horrified expression.

After getting down she felt a bit dizzy but otherwise fine. The construction is coming along fine but it is very cold here so Olivia decided to allocate even more warm stones for this place.

"What is that?" Sansa asked as they were going to the next harbor.

"It's an orphanage I built myself. That building is a public school where the peasants will learn reading and writing." Olivia explained.

"It is made so beautifully I thought it is a hotel of some kind." Sansa is surprised.

"Do you want to see it closely?" She asked Sansa who nodded. When they entered there is still just an empty structure with a few guards. When she entered and felt the warmed in the building she widened her eyes. Opening a tap she saw hot and cold water coming out.

"You sure gave it a lot of resources." She clicked her tongue.

"I can afford it."

Sansa went to the garden with many fruits trees and a lake. This place is very beautiful she finds herself wanting a similar place for herself.

"If an orphanage is this high quality how is the boarding school?"

"It will be furnished by the grand duke." Olivia admitted.

"How rich are you?" She blurted out.

"Come on lets go play the children's games."

"The swing I know, but what are these other things?"

"This one is a slide, here you are basically just carrying your whole body weight and grab one bar to the next. It will help kids stay healthy. This one goes round and round while this one is like a scale. One on each side it only goes up and down."

"How did you come up with all of these things?"

"I didn't. But I did make this for sports." She took her to a three story building with the first floor havind a set of bathrooms on each sides and a large pool in the inside hall.

"This is to learn how to swim and compete with others." The water is warm and very clean. In the first floor there is a large gymnasium with several equipments made from heavy wood for lifting weights. A boxing sand and several gloves.

"They will not be bored and end up getting into trouble, instead they can do sports and exercise their bodies."

"Boys and girls will practice in the same place?" Sansa asked but Olivia showed her a second pool in the ground floor and the same training room in the first floor.

"Way ahead of you. What do you think? This will help children grow more confident in themselves and make friends with similar interests." Olivia said in apparent happiness.

"You care so much for small folks. Your people are very lucky." Sansa gave praise.

"Yes I am very generous." Olivia puffed her chest making Sansa roll her eyes.

They returned after coming back from the school which as Olivia had stated is not finished. Now that Olivia has finished her Orphanages she encouraged the people going to recruit people to bring back those children.

The results wereimpressive as no less than 500 minors were quickly housed in the nearest orphanage and care takers were hired quickly. Olivia is very distraught to find Varys had left these children without their tongues and abandoned them when he fled with Tyrion Lannister.

All the kingdoms were more than happy to ship off all the children so they don't loiter around without food and stealing on the streets.

Kingslanding alone had shipped more than 400 in the first month. The reach also had more than 300 then the rest of the kingdoms had 100 or less but even parents sent out their children because they can't feed them.

Of course rumours about children being used as food in the true North started from Kings landing and parents stopped sending out their children and the rush slowed down. Olivia didn't care because these children will be her future labor and military force that she will use again them if necessary.

As such, they are all given the pill to allow their bodies to adapt to the environment. These pills also allows for better results on training. The muscle memory is freakishly high making them very skilled in whatever they train in. This news only delighted Olivia. Her kingdom citizens should be so talented that the rest of the world can not compare.

Olivia decided it is time to see her other kingdom. She flew on Morpheus Aeryn flying close by.

Olivia is here to heal the lands because even though she has a large space almost half the true north complete with flowing lake it is not high level spiritual spring water. But as soon as she heals her red lands all sort of pests will start attacking this place.

This is why she is more than delighted at the sight of a 500 feet wall complete with black gragon glass on the outside and red obsidian wall on the inside. She k ew her dragons are talented but they have really outdone themselves here. She shaped several large gates and red frames, inserted them on the opening the dragons had left for gates.

She took less time than the North in nourishing the soil because there is no infestation of death aura here just land burned out with too mich fire magic. After he isolates the remaining 12 mines fire magic the process only required rejuvenating of the soil and after Olivia finished she made several water sources.

She entered her castle and gave instructions to insert the gates and establish watch posts. She also told them the land may be cultivated for food now making everyone very excited.

Once they have this information she proceeded to build a massive school, three public schools and three orphanages in the same fashion as in the north. These are building on three separate locations of the kingdom.

Instead of warm stones the cold stones are inserted in the floors of the buildings. The same cold stone whose material is abundant in the redlands more than in Dorne.

After the basic structures were made, she had to fashion built in cardboards and wardrobe not to mention the school furniture. She is practiced by now and this is a matter of skill. A few months at most and all was done.

There is no need for paint on the walls but the window and door frames must be painted in black to show their status as the facilities of the kingdom. The red and black color comes out beautifully in the end.

She put the order for windows, furniture and basic necessities for the facilities especially the orphanages to be completed and installed. Olivia made a garden with a lake and several fruit trees just like in the North and it came out beautifully. She didn't forget to cover these places with large walls fir the protection of the children.

After some consideration, she decided to appoint another set of council members for this place so they can focus on the kingdom and the schools. However, she needed to get advice from the existing council members in the North because they were based here during that time of war.
