Chapter 53: Lapdog
Olivia had booked herself into a hotel and although the place is not as luxurious as how they used to be in the past. She doesn't mind this however and decided to order a room to rest her neck.
She let her temper get the better of her again today just like all those years ago. It must be this place, or Cersei Lannister is the common factor in both cases. "Sigh.." Taking out a steaming meal from her space she gave it to her servants to set it up after they finished cleaning the place.
She took a bath and then wore comfortable stay at home clothes. But just as she is about to begin her meal in peace, someone knocked on the door.
Anna opened the door and found two gentlemen one using a cane to balance himself. Olivia's guardians are the ones escorting them. "They say they are a high lord Tyrell and a prince." Faith went to disturb her mistress but Olivia told the visitors to wait for her to finish her meal or come back some other time.
A while later Olivia put on an appropriate outfit that is a silk sleep wear and a simple robe to cover herself. No one can see what she is wearing underneath she just looks comfortable. The table has been cleaned up and the visitors are lounging on couches. When she entered they stood to greet her.
"We apologize for bothering you but I was worried. Are you better now?" Oberyn walked towards her and took her hand kissing it.
Olivia felt odd. Why is he behaving this way? "You helped calm me so I am well. Thank you for that by the way."
"Any day you wish for a Lannister's mutilation don't look further." He looked like a night doing something noble making Olivia chuckle in amusement.
"I hope it doesn't come to that. Who is your friend?" Olivia smiled as a gracious host and gestured for both to take a seat.
"My name is Willas Tyrell." The man kissed her hand as well, Olivia allowed them to take a glass each when
"So, are you like a fairy now?" Oberyn tasted the wine and smiled in satisfaction.
"No, I am nothing of the sort. Why are you two here today?" She asked them once they both started drinking.
"I came to see the woman who caused my grandmother to faint."
"Right, It was an unfortunate situation at that time. She is Alright though, so what's the use of 'seeing' me?" Olivia asked incredulously.
"Do you feel no remorse for what happened to my poor grandmother?" Willas asked sadly but its obvious he is playing around.
"Just say what you want while I am still amused by you." Olivia laughed while Oberyn chuckled at his friend's failed attempt at acting.
"I wish for you to heal me."
"And what do I get in return for this?" Olivia asked slightly.
"You will be an honored friend to the Tyrells and I will personally owe you a favor." The man said with a serious tone.
"I do have something I need you to do for me and if you accomplish it I will give you the medicine. I would do it myself but you just offered. See me alone and I will tell you what is it I need from you."
"I will gladly comply. Thank you for the chance." The man is elegant enough.
"Now that is out of the way. How do you feel about marrying my nephew the prince of Dorne?" Oberyn asked as soon as the deal was made.
"Dorne?" She chuckled but shook her head. The Dornish were known for their fierceness but that all went away after how you handled yourself against the Lannisters.
"That is an entirely different matter all together." Oberyn has a solemn expression now.
"People may do many brave and praiseworthy things but one act of weakness will ultimately become their brand. I have dragons but I didn't do what my counterpart who also has dragons do with them. Many would see this as a sign of weakness and presume I have a cowardice nature."
"That is not true. We have all heard the stories of your great battle against the army of the dead. We are just too young self conscious to admit that you saved everyone."
"Be that as it may, many will think these are just rumors I spread myself to seem like a hero. In truth I just want to be left alone." Olivia sighed.
"That can't be true, if wanted to be left alone you wouldn't build a kingdom."
"I don't want to be alone I just don't like being ordered about by lesser men just because they were born in a castle. When I was young I was forced to come to Kings landing on orders of the 'king' because a bunch of people were dying from some unknown diseases." Olivia sneered.
"Way to prove your might 'king Robert' bring a child to a disease infested city and ask said child to get rid of the disease. I saw the look on father's face. He was helpless. I didn't want to end up killing a bunch of nobles and royals just so they wouldn't demand things from me so I took my subordinates and left the seven kingdoms."
"My point is all that will be pointless if I go ahead and marry one of these Southerners, no offense." She said to the two people.
"What happens if you fall for a Southerner?" Willas ask.
"Pray that doesn't happen." All the earlier amusement gone from her face. Seeing her expression, Oberyn had a feeling she meant it. Thinking about it, if she fell in love with a lord or a prince, if they asked her to use her dragons to conquer Westeros what then?
A shiver went up his spine realizing she is right. If she is in love she probably wouldn't refuse her lover. But if that person was their own prince it would be another story however, it seems this woman looks down on them as a whole because of their inaction against the Lannisters.
"Now, let me introduce you to my private stash of fine wine." Olivia became a gracious host. Willas is pondering on what she could possibly want form him while Prince Oberyn is bitter. He had angered the Lannisters and will have to leave this place soon before that vicious queen has him hang.
He doesn't have faith that his own brother would avenge him. They both cared for their sister deeply but he didn't lift a finger when she died like like that. Why hasn't he thought about it like this?
She surprisingly had a good time here with these two amidst their blatant flirting. The next time Willas visited he told her their kingdom will allow the people to migrate if they wish to from that day on. Now it is just kings landing.
Olivia didn't go back to that meeting but met with Olenna Tyrell "I am glad you are well now my lady." Olivia said with an apologetic expression.
"We did push a little too hard that day. I hear you met with my grandson? How did that go?"
"Well I suppose. We each got what we want. May I ask you something?" She leaned forward. When the old woman nodded she proceeded.
"What do you thing will happen to your family within Kings landing if the last of her children dies? I heard Tommen was poisoned before the wedding and now your young gay grandson is engaged to her daughter the current queen. What happens if this queen dies?"
"are you really responsible for Tommen's death?" The old rose asked without answering her question.
"Of course not, that sweet boy never did anything to me and even the one that did do something to my family I never did anything to him, why would I harm that child?" Olivia said in response.
"He was a Lannister."
"I don't have the time to search every Lannister who ever lived lady Olenna. The death of Tywin means the death of the Lannisters and my brother killed almost all their soldiers. Soon enough Tywin's legacy will be dust in the wind like that massive castle he built for his family." Olivia answered her comment coolly.
"To answer your question, if the queen died Cersei will take on the throne but it wouldn't matter they still need the alliance and we ...."
"Want your blood on the iron throne. For how long? Danny is coming sooner of later. You could have saved your children for an alliance with her but by the time she flies here they will all probably be dead in Cersei's hands."
"Our alliance is necessary for them too."
"Perhaps, but Cersei is not very smart is she?" Olivia chuckled when she saw the look on the old woman's face.
"You are working hard to sabotage the relationship between our two parties."
"That's the thing, I don't need to. You'll see. I am leaving soon. You take care of yourself lady Tyrell." Olivia stood up but her path is obstructed by Jaime Lannister and a few of the gold cloaks.
"Your father hated to see you in that cloak, even in his death you are still shitting on his efforts." Olivia clicked her tongue.
"I am going to need you to come with us."
"And If I refuse?"
"Then your two maid will meet a fate worse than death." Jaime said even as he is angry at what happened to his sister, he is still terrified of this woman.
"Gosh.." She turned to Olenna who is also shifty in her gaze. "Is that why you called me here knowing I'd feel bad about making you faint at that time? Hehe.. Southerners...always full of schemes and intrigue." Olivia found the entire thing to be amusing.
"And you, after knowing what you know I would expect better from you. Fate worse than death...hehe." Olivia went back to seat in front of the old woman.
"I'm curious, do you think I am against killing old ladies or you were counting on your charm?" Olivia's guardians appeared like ghosts and killed all the men Jaime had brought with him. Their number is three times that of the guardians but they were cut down in only a few minutes.
Lady Olenna didn't answer but she could see the stubborn glint in her eyes. "Well, this should be fun." Olivia walked towards Jaime who lost the strength in his legs but stood still. She extended her hand and a heavy sword appeared on it.
"I never draw my weapon unless I mean to take a life. Do you regret it? Being a love struck puppy all your life? You are about to die, say something clever." She pushed the sword into his chest and buried it deep without hesitation. Lady Olenna stood up and took several steps back.
She saw the men, all the Lannister men including Jaime Lannister lying dead on the ground staining the soli with their blood. The massacre took less than 7 minutes and everyone is dead. Olivia turned to the old lady.
"Okay, you can't blame that on my temper. I was perfectly calm the entire time." She said when Caine Enym approached checking her for any injury.
They are still talking when two maid servants approached covered in blood but Olivia can see it isn't their own blood. "My queen, are we late?"
"You got kidnaped?" Olivia rolled her eyes at them.
"We were curious what sort of ideas they had for us. But they wanted to lift our skirts. These are the uniforms designed by our flame queen, we couldn't let filth anywhere near them." Anna always snarky said.
"Now, we wait for the queen." Olivia pulled the blood stains away from their uniforms and in no time they looked nothing like people who killed a bunch of people a while ago.
Marcella showed up surrounded by gold cloaks, when she saw her father on the ground she had a reaction. But quickly hid her expression and turned to Olivia who is studying her closely.
"What is the meaning of this?" She asked with a slight tremor in her voice. Olivia turned to the old rose. "Why don't you explain what let to this?"
Olenna explained that their plan was to lore Olivia and herb guards away from the maids and then kidnap them to cut of their tongues and torture them for Olivia to hand over the cure for her mother's cure.
"So you see, I was only defending myself and my maids were able to escape and find me."
"That was reason enough to kill them?"
"Otherwise? I am a ruler of an entire kingdom and your family knows only themselves in this world. They do whatever they like without regard for consequences as if someone told them they have infinite luck. I was willing to just nock him out before to give Tywin a change to educate him but he will always remain your mother's lap dog."
"When will you be leaving?" The young queen asked with visible grief.
"As soon as you open the gates and allow those who want to come live in my lands to pass through. That is why I came." Olivia said calmly.
"Then you must leave today. The doors will be open from today onwards." She said and turned to hide the tears on her eyes she left before they could see her tears. Olivia and her men turned to return home.
