-Story Start-

The scent of burnt paper, followed by smoke and a disappointed visage was standard procedure in the Nanahoshi Laboratory.

Nanahoshi's tired groan reverberated, "Another failure..." She muttered, turning to her partner in crime.

"That's another couple of Asuran Gold Coins down the drain." A casual observation from him as well.

Throwing him a look, Nanahoshi expressed, "You're a bit stingy for someone from a rich ancient lineage, don't you think?"

"Nope. Just making sure you feel every bit of it~" He retorted with a grin, his tone dripping with playful malice.

She sighed, giving him a side-eye before refocusing on the task, "Ah... Can you tell me what went wrong?" Her tone was calm, but there was a hint of challenge in her eyes.

It was more of a test than anything.

She had already pinpointed the mistake with a single glance, her expertise evident in her confidence.

Nevertheless, knowing her mistake hadn't dulled the agonizing mental torture of the fact it took her two weeks to draw up such a meticulously large and complex Magic Circle.

Satoru nodded, his expression unusually serious, with his Six Eyes fully exposed.

He lowered himself to grab hold of the failed Magic Circle.

His eyes quickly narrowed at the origin of the failure - A section more burnt than the rest of the circle the clear source of the smoke and nasty smell.

He began, his voice calm yet authoritative, "There are essentially two primary reasons a Magic Circle can fail. Disregarding miscellaneous outside effects like overloading the Magic Circle itself or the environment. "

Lifting a finger, "The first, is unrealistic instructions."

"To elaborate, one can, in theory, craft a God Rank Magic Circle. However, if the Magic Circle hadn't taken into account the storage of requisite mana in its instructions? it'll undoubtedly fail, unable to store the Mana necessary. This is but one example of many." He explained.

Nanahoshi nodded silently, gesturing for him to continue.

Smirking at her, he added, "Though in all my time experimenting and learning from you, you've yet to make that mistake~" His tone expressed how surprised he was at that prospect.

Frowning, Nanahoshi huffed with a hint of pride, "Do I have to explain to you how long I've been doing this? If I made a mistake like that, I'd have lost hope of going home altogether."

He rolled his eyes, waving her off.

He continued, lifting a second finger, "As for the second reason, which is actually the source of all your failures thus far..."

Pointing at the source of the failure, "Structural failure. It is a similar folly for Jujutsu Sorcerors regarding Talismans and Barriers."

"The instructions you intended in that section weren't translated on paper properly. Put simply, you suck." He shrugged, dropping the messed-up paper holding the Magic Circle.

The matter-of-fact tone, nonchalantness, and rude comment made Nanahoshi's eyes twitch.

'He isn't wrong, but the way he's saying it is...' She fumed.

Folding her arms, she clicked her tongue, "If it's that easy, why don't you just draw it?"

Rising up to his full height, he towered over her, "I would, flawlessly at that, but you've been so hands-on with this you'd have never let me touch that precious two weeks of work of yours." He shrugged in amusement.

Gritting her teeth, she argued, "Flawlessly? According to who?"

He met her eyes with his own radiant blue, "According to me."

Pointing at his eyes, "Let me place it in simple terms for you. These eyes of mine allow me to see down to the atomic level. Atoms. From what I've noticed, brushing mistakes of up to 3.141 millimeters is the safe limit. Our margin of error. I can work with much less than that if necessary." His tone left no room for argument.

Nanahoshi's shoulders slumped.

She had no argument.

He was right.

Ruffling his own hair in annoyance, Satoru added, "Look, the issue also stems from the fact that what we require will, eventually, need a giant magic circle roughly twice the size of this room. You could never draw such a thing on your own without mistakes."

He nodded at her, "I've seen how you work, the only reason this one." He pointed at the magic circle on the floor, "Failed, is because there was much less room for error given the size and complexity. And we'll only be getting bigger from here."

She sighed, "Summon inanimate object. Summon living being. Return inanimate object. Return living being. Control where it is returned." She listed the experiments and necessary conditions for their final task:

Controlled return to Japan, taking into account NOT to induce another Mana Calamity.

She narrowed her eyes, "Are you saying to let you draw up all the Magic Circles from this point forward?"

"At this rate? Looks like it." He shrugged at her.

Before she frowned once more, Satoru inquired, "Say, have you tried layering it?"

Blinking at his inquiry, he elaborated, "Layering the Magic Circles."

"What do you mean?"

Huffing in irritation, he tried explaining, "You know, like how a car's made."

Blinking twice, she stated, "You're horrible at explaining things."

"And you're horrible at getting things!" He retorted.

Pointing a finger at her, he coughed, "Ahem! Anyway, a car, isn't constructed all at once with interconnected parts. The car parts are constructed separately and then stitched together to make a whole functioning and complex structure. Ya know, Engine, Steering, Battery, Alternator, Brakes, the works." He gestured exaggeratedly with his hands to try and emphasize his point.

Lowering her head in thought, Nanahoshi guessed, "You mean to say, make multiple Magic Circles for each necessary function, and then stick them together?"

Flashing her a grin, he nodded, "Not as stupid as I thought~!"

Ignoring her glare, he added, "Though they'd have to be on the same plane, and within 3.141 Millimeters in height difference to let the mana flow properly. So doing it on extra thick parchment is a no-no." He wagged his fingers.

Tilting his head he gave an optimistic thumbs-up, "But what we've got on hand should be good enough~!"

Processing his words, Nanahoshi's chin rested on her hand, "...It might work. We'll need to run this experiment with something simple. Water Ball Magic Circle should work."

"Way ahead of you... You do the mana storage aspect, I'll draw the commands themselves." He quickly grabbed an ink and quill.

Nanahoshi followed his initiative.

---------------------------

Like a ray of hope, a glow of success emanated from the layered, albeit simple Magic Circle.

A water ball began to form from the Magic Circle, flying into the air and quickly turning ninety degrees towards Nanahoshi.

Whose brightened up and awed expression quickly morphed into shock as it hit her square in the face, making her fall flat on her butt from getting spooked.

Drenched with water, sitting dumbly on the ground, she muttered, "Ow..."

"Pfft... BAHAHHAHAHAHAHA!" Satoru cackled like a hyena pointing at her.

In hindsight, Nanahoshi should have known better than to let Satoru dictate where to place the Magic Circle.

Amid Satoru's cackles, Nanahoshi rose back on her feet, unamused as she tried to rub off the pain radiating from her not-so-gentle intimate meeting with the ground.

She deadpanned, "Leave it to a brat like you to turn a success into an embarrassment."

"BHAHAHAHAHAH!" It only served to strengthen his cackle.

Despite being soaked with water, and mildly uncomfortable, she nodded happily, her tone genuinely pleased, "But... I'm happy. This... Changes everything!" She cheered in excitement, her whole being shivered with glee.

The possibilities raced in her mind.

'Maybe, with this... I'll finally make some progress?' Nanahoshi wondered in her mind.

Years of experimentation, with nothing to show for it.

Indeed, this was a momentous occasion for the almost hopeless Nanahoshi.

Arching an eyebrow at her rather drastic mood swing, Satoru ceased his laughter as he shook his head, mirroring her expression, "Yup."

Though he couldn't help but pose haughtily, "All me~" Pointing a thumb at himself.

Rolling her eyes, she couldn't be upset today.

Whether the brat deserved to hear it or not, it could not be denied he was a blessing to Nanahoshi.

She'd never admit it though...

She was over the moon, as she gestured at Satoru, "Yeah, yeah. All you. Now scram, I need to get changed. We've done more than enough for today."

Relaxing from his stiff pose, Satoru nodded, "Great work today, Shizuka-chan! Cya later~!" Turning to the door, instead of teleporting out of there.

His hand on the knob, he opened it with a creak, promptly leaving.

He couldn't help but notice, 'She didn't say we weren't that close. Guess she's really that happy, huh?' He snorted in amusement.

---------------------------

Following his usual routine, after today's very productive experimentation with Nanahoshi, Satoru went on a casual stroll towards the City Of Sharia.

The city was vast, and many fascinating places were still unexplored in his casual strolls here, but he enjoyed them while they lasted.

Every little corner held some kind of amusing surprise, and he was set on exploring the unexplored today as well.

...Maybe a worthy snack will be present?

He's a growing boy! He needs his food!

Usually, though, Satoru is always accompanied by someone.

Nina - Unavailable.

She was busy today with learning Healing Magic.

Linia and Pursena - Unavailable.

Satoru really doesn't know, they are as whimsical as himself.

Cliff - He hates his guts to a disturbing degree.

He sure is fun to annoy though.

Elinalise - Neutral but hates his guts by proxy.

He's surprised she hadn't found it troubling when they first interacted properly.

-Flashback Start-

Passing by the hallway, the couple of Elinalise and Cliff were glued together as always.

The path cleared, as it always did for Satoru as he leisurely passed by, nevertheless the students were getting acclimated to his... Odd almost friendly? nature.

The two men froze upon sight of each other.

Cliff glared vehemently at Satoru.

While the latter smirked and waved happily at the former.

He turned to the lover of the pipsqueak, his shades slightly lowered had let the Six Eyes loose.

With their gaze, Satoru's head lowered to notice an anomaly in a specific sensitive spot in the Elf's body.

His smirk quickly shifted to a cringing grimace, as he muttered aloud, "What did you do to get cursed with... Whatever that is." He bluntly and unashamedly wagged his finger at her... Curse.

Satoru was surprised at how common these curses were.

They were exceptionally rare from what he read and what Nanahoshi had told him.

Yet there were three people in this Academy with Curses.

Nanahoshi herself.

That funny figurine-obsessed guy who likes the Creepy Old Man.

And this Elf.

Cliff's face turned red, as Elinalise quickly placated him, turning to Satoru with a smile, "It's a long story, I'd rather not get into. Though, those eyes of yours can see it... Can you tell what it does?" She genuinely inquired.

Cliff exhaled a calming breath, noting Elinalise's angle at trying to figure out whether Satoru may hold the key to curing her.

But with their expectations came disappointment.

He shrugged, shaking his head, "Nope. I can just tell it's there... Creating a Magic Crystal... Sheesh that's gotta hurt." His grimace only grew.

Without continuing the conversation, he passed them by in his stroll a clear deadpan in his face.

Much to the bewilderment of the two lovers.

A hint of regret in his inner voice, 'I shouldn't have checked...'

Oh, the woes of a man wielding the Six Eyes.

-Flashback End-

And so, this time, his outing partner was Clarice.

His number one? Fan.

"I see the Hot Springs construction has been progressing well! I'm surprised Principal Georg agreed to it. What say you? Project Manager?" Her notebook was firmly in her hands as they strolled through the main road to the city.

"It's my payment for the duel with Badigadi. In turn, it's free for all Academy Students." Satoru nodded in pride.

Clarice's eyes gleamed with awe, as she muttered, "H-How saintly of you!"

"Mhm... I know~" Satoru smirked.

What Satoru had neglected to mention was his agreement with Georg to increase the annual costs of attending the Academy by 1 Asuran Gold Coin. Satoru will profit from 70% of those Coins earned from the increased attendance and enrollment costs.

Truly, he is a shameless man.

But, if he's being honest with himself, that's an extremely fair price to what the Academy will be earning due to his presence and impact here.

Truly... A saint?

...It is evident his own reputation isn't a concern for him.

"Excuse me! Sir Gojo Satoru!" A squeaky tone of a little girl called out to him.

Prompting him to lower his shaded gaze to the speeding bullet headed for him.

The bullet paused just in front of him, revealing a red-haired girl dressed in a maid outfit.

Tilting his head, he lightly addressed her, "What is it, brat?" His tone was unthreatening and genuinely curious.

Before he got his answer, two other individuals approached.

A shy blonde girl around the same age as the straightforward redhead, that hid behind a tall man whose posture was stiff and tense, locking eyes with Satoru.

He looked ready for combat at any waking moment.

Before he could smirk in amusement, the redhead's words caught him off-guard, "I'm Aisha Greyrat! That's Norn Greyrat!" She gestured at the shy blonde.

The now-named Norn shivered under Satoru's momentary gaze, her expression conflicted at his sight.

Aisha continued relentlessly, "We're the little sisters of Rudeus Greyrat! The man you defeated. May you tell us where he is?" She asked in a polite and cutesy manner, that held a cold and calculating weight beneath it.

Clearly, she wasn't pleased about Rudeus Greyrat being defeated.

Blinking, Satoru's jaw unhinged in surprise, "That Creepy Old Man has a family?"

"Yes?" The girl tilted her head at the odd nickname.

"Aisha, get away from him." The tall man warned his eyes not leaving Satoru's figure.

She turned to her guardian, no fear in her eyes as she stated, "Mister Ruijerd, don't worry! He won't hurt me. Won't you?" She turned to look at Satoru with a smirk.

Smirking back at her, "Cheeky brat. Is this some kinda ploy to make me feel bad? Cause I ain't up for any babysitting."

Clarice was enjoying every second of it, muttering a silent, "The plot thickens..." As she rapidly wrote in her little notebook.

Aisha shook her head, "Nothing of the sort, mister. According to my information, my big brother is supposed to be attending the Magic University. Do you happen to know where his abode is?"

Stroking his chin, Satoru replied, "Well, sorry to break it to ya brat. But he's probably getting... Hehe. Disciplined, Northwest of here, in the Holy Land Of Swords." He giggled.

Aisha and Ruijerd's eyes widened at that nugget of information, the former muttering, "...That far away?" Her disappointment and concern were evident.

Satoru shrugged, his tone easygoing, "If it's any consolation, he should be back here in... A month or two? Maybe? Depending on how brutal Eris was." He waved his hand dismissively, a sadistic smirk on his face due to his little snitching to Alistair.

At the name drop, a proud smile formed on Ruijerd, "So they're training together... That is the next step for that girl."

The prospect of a prolonged stay with Ruijerd lit up a smile on Norn's face.

Whilst Aisha's head lowered, her expression serious as she considered her options.

At that, Clarice offered her services, her tone more formal and professional than prior, "You are Quagmire's sisters. Correct?" She repeated.

The two girls nodded at the polite girl's inquiry.

She smiled, "I'd suggest staying here as you await his return. It would be tragic to pass him by should you travel through the treacherous road to the Holy Land Of Swords."

"Even assuming your bodyguard is adequate protection." She nodded respectfully at Ruijerd.

She gestured to the little girls, lowering herself to gently pat Aisha's hair, "Your elder brother is very well-liked and respected here. Go into the University and ask for Cliff Grimoire or Elinalise Dragonroad. They'll be sure to help you. If not them, ask for Zanoba Shirone."

Rising back to her full height, she tilted her head, "Well, if that doesn't somehow work out, I'd suggest heading to the Student Council Room. Lady Ariel would be more than pleased to assist you." She smiled broadly.

Processing the advice quickly, Aisha nodded enthusiastically, "Thank you very much miss..."

"Clarice Redbat."

"Yeah! Thank you! Sir Gojo Satoru and Miss Clarice!" She bowed respectfully, turning to Ruijerd and Norn.

"Let's go!" She led the way forward, charging ahead.

Ruijerd simply let out an exasperated sigh, shaking his head helplessly as he followed her with Norn attached to his leg.

He met Satoru's shaded gaze, nodding at him in acknowledgment.

The message was clear - "He means no trouble, and he wants no trouble."

Satoru snorted, his tone dismissive, "While I may be here, this isn't my turf, cause as much harmless trouble as you want~"

Nodding his agreement, Ruijerd replied, "Noted."

---------------------------

The sun had set over the horizon, greeting Sharia with the beautiful night.

On an amateurishly and questionably safe hammock set at the top of the Magic University's spires lay Satoru, the night's starry canvas overlooking him.

"Ah... This is bliss." Satoru mumbled in satisfaction, his hands behind his head as he leaned in.

The cold temperature had never bothered him, and it certainly didn't bother him now.

Lowering his shades, he gazed at the beautiful sky with a satisfied mutter, "Never gets old... I'll miss this when I get back home." He freely admitted.

This kind of sight would be only possible in the countryside of Japan, and even there, he doubts anything could eclipse the beauty of this.

That's not even mentioning the urban Tokyo, where barely a glimmer could be seen in the dark sky above.

Truly, Gojo Satoru was enjoying his vacation.

Vacation.

The term he'd started with, and the term he clings onto so tightly in this world.

At times, that term feels so... Fickle and uncertain for him.

His experiences in this world had begun to distort his vision ever so slightly.

His friends in the Holy Land Of Swords.

Alistair.

Eris.

Nina.

Gal-sensei.

Relna.

Saving those slave children from those slavers.

His confrontation with Rudeus Greyrat, the reincarnate from Japan.

Each time, that term had been gone from the forefront of his mind.

And each time it was gone...

A question lingered in the depth of his psyche - "What is my role here?"

He has yet to answer that question.

He'd obviously have to get back home, didn't he?

He has no role here.

Nay, he shouldn't even have one.

This is a vacation, right?

...And now, that term he so tightly clung to is gone once more.

Due to...

Once more, his Six Eyes caught onto something in the distance.

His eyes were mostly a blessing, but they were also a Curse.

When fully unleashed, they were capable of seeing Everything within miles of Satoru, to a disturbing level of detail, where he could even distinguish the most minor of details.

To most, it'd be overwhelming.

Even for Satoru, constant full exposure strains his mind with details and information.

Sometimes, there are things he'd just rather not see.

Things he'd simply blissfully ignore.

This was not one of those times.

"Hmm?" He hummed, and turned his head in a certain direction, narrowing at a certain room in the Academy.

To Be Continued!
