Izumi Miyamura: Xover

Chapter 7: Izumi Miyamura: Xover - Chapter 7

"H-help, I-I'm d-dying!" my fiancée moaned chokedly, I was drinking some tea having already finished my meal along with a small chocolate lava cake from my mother's shop, which was currently on top of Taylor choking her with her bare hands in a, and I must say, excellent, camel clutch , it's not like I could kill her, my mother was completely normal, without aura or training so Taylor's same aura would prevent her neck or back from being broken or my mother from being able to close her airways long enough for her to die of suffocation, but it was painful so I did not intervene during the last 15 minutes that my mother's murder attempt lasted.

"Okay, that's enough." I took pity on Taylor and carefully pulled my mother away.

"T-thank you." Taylor thanked from the ground while rubbing her back in pain.

"You're welcome promised." Taylor shuddered with a blush, my mother seemed to want to develop some kind of death glare with the intensity that she was glaring at Taylor, which when she saw it she shuddered again and gave me a pleading look for help "finish eating." which I obviously ignored, Taylor surrenderedly crawled to her seat and began to eat her now cold food, that didn't stop her from moaning with pleasure when she tasted it once more.

"What do you do!? Do you have any plans for the future?! How do you plan to support my son?!?!" my mother asked louder and louder, Taylor choked on her food, I snorted playfully as I offered her a glass of water which she accepted.

"Mother, she is 17 years old," I replied playfully.

"old enough if she proposed to my son!"

" A- and I, d-do I have a PRT recommendation for UA? I-I'm studying for the Japanese GED so I can get into UA next year." Taylor said quickly in one breath, my mother nodded slightly, but I frowned.

"UA is a good university, in any of its departments it is good." Taylor sighed in relief at my mother's implicit approval.

"Why the Japanese GED?" I asked confused, it had been bothering me since the first time she mentioned it, both women looked at me confused.

"t-to get into UA?" Taylor replied awkwardly, I grimaced.

"No, why the Japanese GED and not the American one?" Taylor blinked still confused "I checked the UA website a little while ago since applications are done early, since UA has a reputation for taking quite a few foreign students, it specifically states that anyone who doesn't have Japanese citizenship can take the special entrance exam that exempts them from most Japanese subjects, like Japanese and History, instead, they have it completely in English and either they add more questions in the other fields or some special accommodations that they're notified of in advance." Taylor's eyes widened in surprise before bringing her hands to her face and groaning in frustration.

"The PRT told me it had to be done that way." I grimaced.

"that's still - "

"Don't say it" Taylor said painfully, I sighed.

"What's going on?" my mother asked suspiciously, Taylor looked at me pleadingly but I simply shrugged, it was her decision whether to speak or not, she made a face.

" I-it's classified?" Taylor tried and I snorted in amusement.

"We're in Japan, I doubt they'll find out unless you post it on the internet." Taylor sighed defeatedly.

"What do you know about the 'Awakening'?" My mother looked confused, but her eyebrows rose.

"In certain situations where a person experiences intense feelings of stress it can cause their quirk to evolve." Taylor nodded.

"W-what, is that possible?" my mother asked incredulously, I nodded.

"Yes, but it's very rare, they usually occur in life and death situations, and it's not always a complete awakening, it can be just the quirk summoning an absurd amount of power in times of crisis, the only difference is that an awakening is permanent, it permanently increases the level of strength of the quirk in question or gains new aspects that were not possible before."

"Exactly, I-I had an awakening at the beginning of the year." Her eyes became slightly blurry, I squinted and could feel the bugs around the house going crazy.

"You don't need to say it," I quickly interrupted and glared at my mother who was about to retort, Taylor shook her head.

"No, I mean it." she said softly, "I, I have a sister, Emma, we were really close but about two years ago she met this girl, Sophia and… she completely changed." She grimaced, "When we started high school, she basically made me her favorite target and started a campaign to make my life miserable, I never knew why or what I did, but we were sisters, we literally lived in the same house so she knew where to hit, she used my secrets and fears against me, she ruined my homework, my clothes, scared away everyone I would hang out with, she would hit on me in the hallway, outside of school, pretty much everything basically." Now I grimaced, bullying between women in my past life was really insidious, not so much physical but it could take a bigger toll mentally than anything else, in this world it seemed it was both, the worst thing was that they lived together, she wasn't safe either at school or at home "the teachers didn't believe me, or if they did they just said they were girls playing being girls, or between sisters, so they dismissed all the complaints I filed against them."

"Back then my quirk wasn't as impressive as it is now, I could still control bugs but I had to form a bond with the colony before that would happen, it would take weeks, sometimes months, so I really had affection for them, at one point they were my escape from all that... hell, I had terrariums in my house for them, on New Years Emma... Emma killed all my bugs." I clicked my tongue, the bugs around the house were crazy not that I could blame her.

"I obviously blew up at her, at that point Emma had already convinced our parents that I was rebellious and caused trouble for attention so they didn't believe me, it was completely useless, it all culminated when we got back to school, they had filled my locker with trash from the bathrooms, corks, blood, and bugs, I hadn't been paying attention, I was still depressed about my bugs so I didn't notice when they pushed me inside and locked me in." my mother had turned slightly green as I looked at her in horrification, my stomach was stronger and I knew what had happened in canon but I still made a face of disgust "I... I don't know how long I was in there but at some point I just... snapped and my quirk grew, I could control all the bugs around me with ease, the first thing I thought of was retaliating and before I could take it back, I passed out."

"So nothing happened?" my mother asked, Taylor made a face.

"I didn't know it then, but if I faint, my bugs follow the last order I gave them, in this case, to attack. I wasn't fainted long enough, but Emma, Sophia and another girl had already been attacked and bitten by several bugs, nothing really lethal and it wouldn't have really been a big deal if one of them wasn't involved with the PRT."

" Wards " I said quickly, Taylor was surprised but nodded, but my mother still looked confused "they're like internships for minors who want to join the Protectorate in the future, but more… permanent? It's almost like a job, they have a salary and everything, but they're… apprentices of the heroes so to speak, pretty hard to actually join the program." my mother nodded slowly as she absorbed the information.

"Yeah that's it, I just didn't want to believe it, but I couldn't really defend myself, I passed out once again and was delirious for 3 days from sensory overload caused by my new quirk, in that time the PRT had already spoken to the trio, the teachers and my parents, they all told her the same thing, that I was an aggressive delinquent looking for attention, they never gave me the chance to defend myself." Taylor sighed tiredly "I don't know if you know it or not, but knowing the identity of a hero or villain is a serious thing."

"What? Why?" my mother asked confused.

"Masks were something that started as a joke by people trying to replicate comic book heroes and then it stuck, but it became much more serious when some heroes who had their identity revealed were killed while they were in civilian clothes if I'm not mistaken, it's not something that is used in all countries, but the United States is where most of their heroes have masks" I explained to my mother, Taylor nodded.

"Right, so I was forced to sign an NDA to not reveal anything and was given 3 options after that, jail for quirk assault, joining the Wards before moving on to the Protectorate and being forced to work with one of my goons or choosing to study abroad."

"They wanted to get rid of you," my mother said tactlessly, Taylor grimaced.

"And you're also expendable, countries try not to send girls with strong quirks or important backgrounds out of the country because of the law that forces them to stay for several years in service, but they still have to send someone every so often to keep up appearances, so you were the scapegoat." The grimace became more pronounced.

"Yeah... I was just having a chance to get away so I didn't think much about it at the time. I'd rather go to prison than work with one of the trio, but I didn't want to go to prison either, so I chose to study abroad without hesitation." The three of us stayed silent for a moment.

"Izumi?" my mother suddenly asked, I frowned slightly, I understood what she was asking.

"He's telling the truth," I said honestly.

"What?" Taylor asked confused, I shrugged.

"I already told you that I am a kind of lie detector, I can look inside your body with ease, it is simple to notice when someone is lying, I can also feel people's feelings, it is rare that someone can deceive both things so it is quite reliable."

"Someday you'll have to tell me all you can do." Taylor said emotionlessly as she looked at me flatly, I smirked at her.

"Taylor, darling, a guy's got to have his secrets, even from his fiancée." I winked at her, making Taylor blush slightly.

"Where are you staying?" my mother asked suddenly. Taylor seemed surprised by the question.

"Uh- in a small apartment about 30 minutes walk from here?" she said awkwardly "the PRT pays for the place and gives me a monthly stipend for my needs, my mother also sends me some money." she added, my mother hummed.

"We have unused rooms, you're moving." I blinked in disbelief.

"Wait what?!" I exclaimed in disbelief.

"Wait what?!" Taylor repeated in a squeal.

"You are my son's fiancée, you are not staying in a "small apartment" especially if it is a charity from your PRT ." my mother spat.

"WAIT WHAT?!" we exclaimed at the same time this time.

"Of course, Izumi will be training you and teaching you what is necessary for the GED and the entrance exam, she is more than capable, I will not accept anything less than excellent grades for my son's fiancée." With that she stood up "Plus you will be helping me in the bakeries part time, I will not accept any slackers." She began to leave the kitchen, I recovered from the surprise before Taylor.

"Are you kidding me?" I moaned tiredly.

"I don't know what you're talking about." my mother hummed. "She's your fiancée, it was a nice proposal, we were all happy." Taylor and I looked at her in disbelief, Taylor paler than me as she lightly grabbed her neck, I could see my mother smirk as she left the room.

" And what happened to me?" Taylor was understandably confused, and I snorted.

"Looks like we're really engaged." I hum thoughtfully. "Do you want to go have sex?"

"WHAT?!" Taylor shrieked, looking like she was about to faint.

"I heard you, young man! No sex! You're 20 years young for that!" my mother shouted from afar, I laughed lightly, I laughed mockingly while Taylor recovered, apparently she realized that I didn't mean it.

"I-we... are we really going to do this?" Taylor asked still not fully understanding what was going on, I hummed as I looked Taylor up and down, she squirmed under my gaze.

"Only if you want." I shrugged before smirking at her "I certainly could have had a worse fiancée, you're acceptable." Taylor blinked and was silent for a few seconds before nodding determinedly.

"I couldn't, nor would I want to do it any better, you're excellent." she said as she stared at me, I opened my eyes in surprise, I certainly wasn't expecting that from Taylor, so I burst out laughing.

"smooth Taylor, very smooth, but flattery will get you nowhere, darling." I said teasingly before approaching and giving her a small kiss on the lips, it was barely a lip to lip touch, enough to feel her softness but nothing more "or maybe yes." I winked at a very stunned and paralyzed Taylor "I'm going to take a shower, you have to wash the dishes, then we'll go get your things" with that I left the room without knowing if she had heard me or understood what I had said and I headed to my room.

"YES!!!" I smiled widely at Taylor's shout.
